Customer Service: The staff here is excellent--friendly, professional, and really helpful when it came to walking me through options and deals. They took the time to explain the warranty on the tires, which gave me peace of mind, and I never felt rushed or pressured. Ambiance: The waiting room was clean, comfortable, and well set up, which made the short wait a lot easier. You can tell they put thought into making customers feel at ease while their vehicles are being worked on. Work & Value: The deals on tires were fantastic, and the warranty is a huge plus. However, I did run into one issue--after picking up my truck, I noticed some damage that wasn't there before, along with a sensor issue. The shop felt strongly that it was preexisting, but I know it wasn't, which means I now have to cover the repair myself. Replaced the struts and shocks all the way around. They did a fantastic job and the truck rides better than stock. They also fixed the airbags in the rear and installed a valve for filling to bypass the failed pump. Great work for a reasonable price. read more

Beware of scare tactics and being swindled!! Our son took his vehicle in and was charged $300 for a diagnosis and was then told it needed $4000 in repairs. When he tried to take the vehicle, he was also told that the wheels might fall off if he took it off road. My husband is a mechanic and the two of them had recently installed larger tires so they knew this was not true. My husband made a trip to help and they found the needed part in a salvage yard for $25 and everything works great now. read more

I sent email the very next day after ordering the part to cancel this order and there email bounced. The part arrived and I called them and explained everything. They said they would authorize a return and I would have pay for shipping back and a restocking fee!! this would come to over half of what I paid. Bad service. Been working with this shop for a few years with my 2001 Jeep Cherokee. They installed a 3 inch lift with new shocks, lower control arms, springs, and leaf springs. Work done was well, no complaints. After the lift started having drive line problems with clunking. They told me I need a new yoke installed in the rear diff. I agreed and had them install it. Still had same problem, they than told me I need a Slip Yoke Eliminator kit and a new drive shaft. Agreed to that as well and had them install it. Seemed to solve the problem. Cost about $3000 total for this work. After about 1.5 years, started getting vibrations on the highway going over 65 mph. At this point the Jeep had less than 4000 miles put on it since they did the work. No major off-roading trails or anything like that. Brought it into to their shop and asked to have them check it and also to check the yokes to make sure they were tight. They said the rear driveshaft and output shaft on the SYE kit was bent and needed to be replaced. Wanted another $440 to fix the problem. Since it was after 1 year since they installed, I would not be covered under warranty. They never bothered to remove the driveshaft or check the yoke like I had asked. I brought the Jeep to a different mechanic for a second opinion, he pulled the drive-shaft and sure enough, the nut for the output shaft was loose. He tightened it up with an impact and the vibrations were gone. 5 minutes of work to fix the problem and zero new parts needed. Fat bob's garage is only a good option if you have a newer vehicle and just want them to install parts or upgrade your rig. If you have an older vehicle or need help diagnosing problems, I would seek a different shop. Fat bob's just wants to throw parts at older vehicles to see if it solves the problem without taking the time to actually diagnose the problem. Meanwhile your wallet will take a major hit. read more

I came in last night to get estimates on my Jeep Cherokee Trail Hawk for a lift, off-roading tires, and towing. We spent the weekend in Moab since my brother in law has a first edition Bronco he takes down fairly often, and my husband and I are excited to make some changes to the Jeep to go down there more often since that was our first time. Wade was helping me with my questions and he even came out to my car and told me it was already lifted two inches and just said he suggested All-Terrain tires and did give me estimates to instal towing equipment. Everything he told me didn't sit right and talked to my brother that is a car mechanic. He had me check the tire size, which come to find out is the standard tires on my Jeep, so meaning it is NOT lifted at all (my brother also said lifts are obvious). I've never been in the shop until last night and that was already my first impression; quite pathetic if you ask me, and I am also glad I came across the reviews. The only reason these clowns got a single star is because I couldn't do any less. These guys do half assed work. Took four times to get my truck right while out rear air bags on it. Our Jeep....tires are too wide for the rim. Three of five tires were not close to being balanced with two being more than 9 ounces off according to discount tire and one of the front tires was not much more than snug. They don't give two shits about their customers and since the sales guys are on commission, they do straight to the most expensive stuff rather than listening to the customer so s/he gets what it is they want as opposed to getting what fat bobs wants to sell u. In my opinion, very dishonest. Won't stand behind their work or shit they sell. And they are way overpriced. But ore importantly, the quality of work is what I would expect to get from taking my car ti the auto shop at the local high school. Took my truck here for an alignment after installing my own lift. After sitting on my truck for 3 days they claimed the bolts on the lower control arms were seized preventing them from performing the alignment and quoted me nearly $1150 to repair. I declined their repair and worked on the bolts myself. In very little time with no special tools I had the bolts freed up. Took the truck to a new shop and had an alignment done same day with no issues. Either Fat Bobs has incompetent technicians or they tried to scam me. Either way they should be avoided. read more

They had everything in stock and told us we could start when we were ready. They were not pushy about "getting a sale" or anything. The customer service was excellent for us. Took my car in for lift kit and checkup.They said I needed a valve cover gasket and brakes.They had my car over 2 months to do brakes valve cover gasket and lift kit .When I got the car back it was smoking bad blue smoke from the tailpipe ,they checked it out for a couple more weeks and said it was valve problems and they couldn't fix it.I took the car to my regular mechanic and he found they had did damage to my pcv valve and left debris in my upper motor,cost me $400 but runs great now.Fat bobs is a very dishonest auto shop they might be able to do lift kits but don't let them do anything else.4 guys sitting in front of shop on the phones all day long are not mechanics just sales guys.I write this review so no one has to go thru the 3 months I just went thru.Very disappointed ,I would never go back to FAT BOBS!!! read more

I've had multiple lifts installed here. They installed their own in-house coilovers on my 2016 Tundra TRD OR CM, and then when I eventually upgraded to a 2.5 Toytec/Radflo setup the shop that Toytec recommended, Fat Bob's fixed the other shop's terrible install (the first shop didn't even adjust the coilovers for the appropriate height or adjust for driver's side lean). They also installed their in house coilovers on my 2017 4runner. In every case they were friendly, knowledgeable, and installed lifts and aligned my trucks while I waited in their lobby. My only complaint about their coilovers is that they aren't adjustable while on the vehicle. I either have to remove them in my garage and adjust, then remove and adjust until both sides are leveled perfectly, or take them back to Fat Bob's Garage and have them adjusted at a premium there. This is frustrating as the additional cost I would pay for this would have covered more expensive coilovers that ARE adjustable on the vehicle. Fat Bob's Garage is the best 4x4 shop in Utah and I wish they were closer to me. Their in-house coilovers compete with other companies (ahem..toytec) that are 2-3x the cost. I did a 3.5" Rough Country lift w/ upper control arm replacement, 17x9 -12 Fuel Rippers and BFG KO2's 285 70 R17. No rubbing or scrubbing. I was in and out of the shop in 7 hours. I live in Spanish Fork and while we have lift shops I made the hour drive to his shop in Layton. Fat Bobs pricing beat all the shops in Utah County and Salt lake. I paid for two day shipping for a lift and it took more than two weeks. Delaying my shop and the project. Sales staff was professional but kept telling me it'll be here Thursday.... on three separate occasions. I asked to speak to manager Justin Yu but he refused to call me back on every occasion. Sales even sent him an email to document my request to speak to him. I am pleased with the BDS product I ordered but I will never order from Fat Bobs again. Very poor customer service. I had a great experience with Mark, who educated me without talking down, about what it would take to lift my beloved Tacoma. (Surprisingly affordable) This is the place to get it done! I am currently loving the feel of driving on the new set of Bilsteins they sold me, and will happily do business with them again when I'm ready for maintenance, repairs, wheels or other off-road related gear. Lied to my face, really didn't know what they were doing, but they took my money. I went in for an alignment on my new 2016 Tacoma after installing an Icon lift with SPC upper control arms. Fat Bob's sells the SPC UCA, so I figured they were the shop to go to for the alignment as these UCAs look like a jigsaw puzzle to most alignment shops. Fat Bob's assured me they had aligned "THOUSANDS" of these vehicles, and I received the same response to my curiosity about the SPC brand UCA specifically. What I got the first time around was a sloppy mess for $80. The shop adjusted the upper control arm without maxing out the caster in the lower control arm. You see, adding caster to the upper control arm brings the wheel in towards the cab. However adding caster to the lower control arm by turning the cams(front cam shorter/ rear cam longer) moves the wheel towards the front of the vehicle. Unhappy with the first alignment, I did my homework and provided documentation of how to get what I wanted out of my alignment: 3 degrees caster/ 0 Camber/ 0 Toe and obviously no more rubbing against the cab side fenders. What I got was a phone call telling me my requested specs were not in line with factory specs and they would move forward with the alignment but this was it and they weren't going to readjust without cost. Fine, I did my homework on tacomaworld.com with much more expertise than what I've yielded from Fat Bobs... I got my truck back as they were closing on Saturday. The tech tells me they got it close to my requested specs, but there's inevitable rub... WTF? I asked, "Did you max out the caster on the cams on the LCA and adjust camber on the UCA? Response was, yes, it's maxed out. I got home after inflicting rubbing damage to my brand new truck to see the above statement was a lie. I went in to another shop(russ' alignment)($50) gave them all the info I provided fat bobs and I'm now riding with a great alignment and wheels centered in the well with no rubbing. Bottom line, nice enough guys that will take your money, but if you want a job done right, at least an alignment when running an SPC UCA, avoid these guys at all cost read more

These guys are amazing. Josh and team helped me figure outwhat I needed via the phone and internet. Dropped off the rig and they took care of everything as promised. They kept me informed along the way and even test drove the truck to make sure everything was perfect. Hats off to them! Worst service! Ordered a lift which had stated 3 day shipping and now going on 2 weeks because they shipped to wrong address as they had my correct information on file! The employee I had to spoke with about this was a complete moron and told me it's not the companies fault and passed the blame onto rough country so I had followed up with them and they sent me proof that they gave them the wrong address! So instead of doing what any company would do and overnight my package to satisfy your customer they told me they will do their best to get it to me soon! What a joke! I created a Yelp account so i could write this place a review. Hands down the worst customer service experience I have ever had with any company ever. The Fat Bob's branded lift kit I ordered to install on my daily driver truck came with incorrect U bolts that were a half inch too wide and sat loose around my rear axle. I emailed them that night with three pictures with a tape measure in each photo explaining the issue and asking for replacements. No one responded to my email the next day, I had to call twice, the second call being almost 3 p.m. MST, for them to say they were shipping replacements. I asked how long it would take, they said a couple days. No offer of overnight, fine. I only live two states away, can't take long right? Wrong. Replacements came FIVE BUSINESS DAYS LATER, since they sent them USPS! The slowest (cheapest) option for replacing parts they messed up the first time. So I finally get my replacement parts and they are THE SAME WRONG PARTS AS THE FIRST TIME. Meaning no one bothered to check the inventory, to see if grabbing the same parts from the same place as before were also incorrect. I emailed again, saying I wanted a manager to call me on Monday, since the parts came Saturday evening, and that I wanted a refund. No call of course, just an email saying "sorry. please send the second set along with the first using the return label we sent, and we will return you $39.99 for that part". They didn't even bother to try making this right after totally botching this twice, and they think I can return twice the weight of what the shipping label is printed for. Talk about seriously not giving a sh!t. And now I am on my own to try and find U bolts, so I can finish my lift and not have to bum rides to work since my car has been on blocks for a week already, and they won't even try to fix this. This is crazy, and they advertise right on their Yelp page that 90% of their business is online. What a joke. These guys give zero f#cks about their customers. Yea me thinks not!!!! These guys are horrible and have made ordering parts a absolute nightmare. Completely unprofessional and their management lied to me about the parts I ordered, the time frame in which they were going to be delivered and the hardware that is supposed to come with my parts. They left me out to dry thinking my parts were going to be shipped out on 9-11-17 from G2 gears and axles, I never received in email with the order info which I never received. I had to personally call G2 and spoke to their manager in which he stated "sir I've never heard from fat bobs garage nor have I heard anything about you order, but we have a 500 axle back order that won't be done until November" G2 personally had to send me a replacement axle. Fat Bobs still yet has not stood to their word and even sent me the hub studs to go into my axles. This whole episode happened because another one of fat bobs employees multiple time verified that the axles he had ordered for my jeep were the correct ones in which they were not. Robbie, Kevin, Will, and the "manager" Josh McBride is the worst of them. Lies and more lies!!!! read more
