I had this intermittent issue with the acceleration on my car. The problem kept happening, but never when I would bring it into service. Today it happened again on my way from work. I wanted to drive straight to a mechanic to see what the problem was. I saw these men standing outside, and I flagged them down. Their service station was already closed but they took time to help and explain to me what could be happening. It's sometimes hard to find a mechanic you can trust. But I can say wholeheartedly I would trust all of my car repairs with Great Kills service station. The young gentleman there Geo and Roman were not only patient and kind they took the time to look at my car when the service station was not even open and gave me great advice. They're open until 10pm which is a big plus and both times I was assisted right away and was in and out in less than 15 minutes. Staff is friendly and the manager seems to be a nice guy. Fine--it's not about the extra $10, I just wanted the problem fixed. Exactly one week later, my tire light came on again. I went back thinking they would stand by their work, but they claimed the same hole was leaking and refused to fix it. Instead, they kept pushing me to buy a used tire, just like another shady shop would do. They even wanted to charge me $10 just for taking the tire off and "diagnosing" it. I ended up going to my usual shop 40 minutes away. They immediately found the original patch from this place was loose and re-patched everything properly for $10 each. This shop doesn't stand by their work, their pricing is inconsistent, and they try to upsell you instead of taking responsibility. Would not recommend.
