LOVED this place. So honest compared to other auto shops. Had my car towed there and a few hours later was able to pick it up. Small thing with my shifter that needed to be repaired but I had them do an estimate that another shop had done for a control arm and it was $200 cheaper, plus they didn't charge all the extra work the other shop wanted to add on. I took my 1991 Ford Bronco in for drivability issues. Chuck was able to get me in and his technician was able to perform the diagnosis fairly quick. On an AC repair, it wasn't as bad as they thought so they cut off like $600 from what was estimated. Honest with great customer service. I love that I can just text them questions. They even got on with a friend of mine who ran into car troubles in Prescott, someone who had never been a client. It was clear they always had my best interest at heart. Wish I still lived close by. DEFINITELY 5 stars + AC went out in my little Hyundai Dealerships couldn't get it in for about 2 weeks so I shopped around. Advance Auto Repair had fantastic reviews so I gave them a call on Tuesday. I worked Wednesday, dropped it off Thursday afternoon, just before a 3 day weekend (Sat-Mon). Diagnosed it early Friday and had parts delivered by end of the day. First thing this morning they got to work on it and had it ready today Price was exactly what I was quoted. We've been having an electrical issue with our van since we parked it for the pandemic., I'm pretty sure we'll be taking it there to get checked out :-) And a side note, I'm having some issues with my right knee and have to wear a brace on it right now and keep it elevated when I'm not moving around. I asked permission to turn two chairs facing each other and put my feet up on one. He went above and beyond and came around and positioned the chairs for me. Super nice customer service! Had an appointment for an oil change at 11. Got a phone call at 3 stating that my hood latch had broken and that there was no way they could get it open easily. So it took 4 hours to do an oil change? Anyways, they said that since they warned me before hand about the possibility of it getting broken, they were not at fault. Quoted me for almost $400 to get it fixed because the job was supposably very difficult. I told them I would get my brother, that's a mechanic to see it. When I entered to grab my keys, he did not say anything to me. He did not explain what had happened, not a word, just handed me my keys. My boyfriend checked out my car and opened my hood with some pliers. The hood latch was not broken, just the plastic handle that you pull. Definitely trying to pull a move and take out money from me. I really thought this place was a place I could trust but my services will be done somewhere else from now on. read more

I called a spoke with the owner chuck who was very professional and caring on the phone. I told chuck that I brought my vehicle to Sears automotive and Firestone for an estimate. Chuck asked me what were my concerns. I told Chuck every time I brought the vehicle back they kept finding more and more that allegedly that was wrong with the vehicle, driving the price up past $4,000.00. Chuck told me bring the vehicle to him he would look at it soon as I brought it to him. Chuck told me his price to fix my vehicle was only $57.00 and it would run great again. I am sad to have to give a negative review as I've been going to Advance Auto for about 10 years but I want to be honest and speak up. I brought my Kia Sportage in because the car wouldn't start. I called AAA and had it towed in. After they looked at it, they said it had overheated and completely shut down. Although there was no steam or boiling or any signs that it overheated. Since I had been to him before, I trusted his opinion. He also stated that I was over due on getting the timing belt replaced so I authorized the repairs, $1636 later. I picked up my car on Tuesday late after noon, drove it to work and back on Wednesday and then on Thursday I made a stop on the way to work and when I came out to the car it wouldn't start again. So I had it towed back. After he looked it over he stated that it was wrenched up and they were unable to get the engine to turn over, suggesting an internal obstruction. He said I have two options, either scrap the vehicle or put in a new engine, which by the way I have a quote for you of $4300 out the door. I chose to have the vehicle towed back to my house. I had one person look at it and they said that there was a hole in the oil pan and it looked like the damage was from the inside out. That person suggested I call a mobile mechanic who is qualified to give me a second opinion, so I had one come out and he stated the exact same thing. I have since spoken to numerous people that work on cars (not professionally) and they have all stated that they felt it was the timing belt put on wrong. I filed a claim with the BBB and after reviewing the case stated that I should get a refund of $612 for the timing belt. Well, several months goes by and no word from Chuck at Advance Auto. So I filed a small claims suit against him. The "hearing officer" ruled in his favor. He felt that he wasn't responsible for the rod failure. I'm sorry but I really feel that he either (a) misdiagnosed the whole situation to begin with or, (b) that his mechanic installed the timing belt incorrectly. Either way, I will NEVER ever return to this shop and all I can say to you if you consider him, to get a second opinion. I should have done that before dishing out so much money. Hind site. Chuck doesn't care about customer service satisfaction at all. He clearly has written on his receipts that there is a warranty but doesn't honor it. Oh and he does offer "free towing" stated by him, but when you call the number they want $75 up front. I feel like he guessed at what was wrong and I was trusting enough to take him at his word. I feel like I got screwed, either way, whether he was wrong in the original diagnosis or the timing belt truly was installed improperly, we will never know. The whole thing rendered my vehicle useless. read more

Chuck own's the place and Adrian is his right hand man, Two grate guys who alway greet you with a smile and remember your name. They're very honest and wont try and up sale you and they just tell it like it is, for better or worse. After a horrible grinding noise refused to subside, I quickly looked up auto repair shops in the Mesa area since I have only lived in AZ a few weeks. Advance Auto Repair had the best reviews, so I called and was able to drop off my car same day. Upon arrival, I was kindly greeted, offered coffee and wifi, and had my vehicle inspected immediately. The employees quickly deduced the cause of my grinding. They fixed the issue with the front tire/plastic flap in 15 minutes and charged me NOTHING. Then, they went on to explain how I can avoid causing these issues in the future. Even though I am relocating to northern Phoenix, I will be an Advance Auto Repair customer for life. Having the mechanical capabilities and garage equipment of a large company while maintaining the hometown feel of a mom and pop shop, this auto shop deserves all the 5 stars it receives and then some.
