Advanced Air Systems recently replaced our heat pump (after 40 years) with one that uses the new refrigerant. The entire system was replaced, including the air handler in a one-day installation. Advanced Air evaluated and made recommendations -- without any sales pressure -- so I had time to research what was the best path forward. The installation crew was done in half a day and left no debris or parts to dispose of. They have been very responsive in following up with questions about the smart thermostat. All in all a great professional service. Maybe not the least expensive in town, but there were no hitches, no nickel and diming, and nothing for me to clean up. A job well done. read more

This company is gold star level all around. I have had them repairing my original gas furnace (32 years old) to limp it along for the last several years. This year I finally bit the bullet and had my furnace replaced and added a heat pump. Three guys showed up - Bob the electrician, Ty the mastermind behind the project and Brian. They were all very personable, kept me informed, worked quickly, cleaned as they went as far as needing to cut through sheet rock to run lines, etc., and explained everything to me. We laughed and chatted throughout the day and the entire project was done mid-afternoon. The City folks came to do their inspections today and they both commented on the excellent equipment chosen and the fabulous install job and signed off without issue. Also, working with the office has always been fabulous as far as scheduling, questions, etc. I absolutely recommend this local company. read more

AC quit today. 95 degrees forecast. Called Advanced Air since they put in my unit in 97- Caleb was sent out within a few hours. Very nice and knowledgeable tech. He replaced the motor capacitor in the condensing unit. Checked the air handler inside and boom good to go Reasonable price in today's ridiculous market. I would absolutely recommend them! read more

Do not work with these people. Extremely dirty business. I've already called someone else that gladly said I could come in, and they'd get me an AC refill. But I called Advanced Air and said, "I took apart the back and checked out the filter, and duct. All I need is a refill. But its not legal to buy freon, can you help me out?" This lady refused service for me saying, "Well we need to have someone come out and run a full diagnostic test, then we can send someone else to help you out." (right off the bat) And of course I say, "Well no, I'm positive it just needs to refill. I don't need to be up charged for all that." Then she doubled down and refused service without the full diagnostic test and 2 visits So of course I asked, "What are you trying to do here? You alright? I'll gladly pay for someone to come out and refill. What are you doing?" She then tripled down and denied service again. So of course I got mad after that... (such kind words I had of course) But anyways, I texted a buddy of mine and he knows a guy. (the boys group chat is clutch) But I even called another place before reaching out to my guys, and they said I could bring it in if it was a certain wall unit. Gladly accepted service! (Service Patriots) They just don't work on standing portables... But depending on your unit type, CALL ANYONE ELSE BUT ADVANCED AIR SYSTEMS! - PS: If any employee at Advanced Air is going to church or claiming Christ, stop and get your s*** together slime ball. I had advanced air come to my house this week to repair my gas fireplace. They looked at it for a few minutes and said we have to reschedule to bring parts they give me a quote. The repair quote was $1300 after that I googled it with the issues I had it showed on the report just to take 220 grit sandpaper and clean off the thermocouple I did this vacuumed it off relit it and it works perfectly. They replaced our heat pump and back-up furnace almost two years ago, installing also a state-of-the-art thermostat - - all made by American Standard. Everything was speedily and efficiently completed within a day. Their tech guy, Brandon, patiently walked me through the uses and settings of the equipment. So for the last almost two years, Clark Public Utilities has kept notifying us that our electricity usage ranks in the top 10% of comparable houses for economy. December through January of this year - - when it was exceptionally cold - - our bill came in extra high. I called, and Brandon came the next day at the appointed time. He took readings, going into the history of the thermostat, and diagnosed the problem. We had gone on vacation during the cold, and the system had worked the way it was set...oooops, by me. Had a new heating / cooling system from AAS installed in our home in Vancouver, Wa. in 2021 for 15,000. In April 2023, it stopped working right before a small heat wave was arriving. It was supposed to be in the low 80s, which I avoid b/c of my bad lungs, I only have 1/3 of my lungs. I called immediately and told them of the problem and the front desk said they would have someone out the next day. I asked that she pass on to the workers that they bring well-fitting medical masks, but that I have them if they did not. Next day, I leave the door unlocked and open so I don't have to get near them and sit in liv. rm. They arrive, no masks and when I said something the head guy just ignored me. After all, what could an old woman possibly say that would be important? It's my home! They said they found a leak that let all the refrigerant out and that 'that happened all the time' even with the new system we supposedly bought. What? He said they'd fix it up 'good as new'. Why wasn't I convinced, hmmm? They came back and then Randy said it was a couple of holes that happened b/c they installed the hoses carrying the coolant too close together and so they vibrated together and ripped holes, etc. They fix it up and say it's good as it would be newly installed. I don't know, of course and they didn't charge me for fixing their own system. I called the office again and requested a statement about exactly what had gone wrong, why and how they patched it up. They said fine, Nothing has come from them. They don't care what you say or what they agree to do. I don't trust AAS. read more

This company will not give you a parts list or a labor cost! They wanted $1200. Dollars for a board in my ac system. The part was $488 dollars an they wanted over $600 dollars for a 30 min install! I have been using Advanced Air over the last few years to maintain our gas furnace, gas fireplace, and electric AC. They have been great. Our compressor went out last summer during the heat wave. They recommended replacing the AC from lower to higher cost AC units which we were not ready to do. They also said they could just replace the compressor for $3,500. We were not able to decide then but went ahead and replaced it this June and very happy we did. Our 20 year old thermostat went out a couple weeks ago. They replaced the thermostat and also recommended adding a jump start unit for the compressor to make it more efficient and extend its life. Some reviewers have complained that their prices are higher than they should be, That could be true, but I found them to very honest and very good at what they do. read more

I worked with Lauren and Yui their office staff and getting things scheduled. Lauren also worked with my insurance company and handled everything so professionally. They were awesome! Dennis came and gave us a bid was so friendly and easy to work with. He worked with me on getting a furnace thar was in my price range, and told me about the different rebates that were offered . We have used them in the past to do yearly maintenance on our furnace and a/c and had no concerns. However they came out a few weeks ago and we needed to replace some components on our furnace. The quote they gave us was high and I decided to check with a family member who owns their own AC company out of state. She advised they were marking up the parts as much as 200-300%! We will be looking for another company to do any service from now on. I understand there will be a mark up, but when my relative said if that's the way company's do business in our area she wanted to relocate and become a millionaire in a few years! read more

He immediately offered to get an appointment for me with one of their electricians. Within a few minutes electrician, Bob was at my door. Do not hire Advanced Air Systems to install your ductless heating and air. It has taken almost 10 months to resolve a very straightforward problem with this company: two defective systems that made a clattering/ticking sound. Had Advanced Air, and in particular, Cathy Rutherford, acted professionally, and worked on my behalf, their customer, and my best interest, this problem could've been solved within a few weeks of getting installed in August of 2018. It has been almost 10 months trying to fix this very irritating and annoying rattling sound emanating from their defective machines. I work 30 minutes out of Vancouver, and the earliest I can be home is by 4:00 pm. But Cathy Rutherford was unwilling to pay overtime for a staff member to come out past five. She told me it would be a burden for her workers to work past 5:00 pm. This confused me because they installed the system on a Saturday. So instead Advanced Air taking care of their customer, I was forced to give up my holidays, which fell on weekdays, to try over and over, with no success, to fix these two units. For almost 10 months! I contacted the Department of Labor, and they STRONGLY does not recommend that you leave keys for any contractor or vendor to come into your house when you were not there. I told Cathy Rutherford in Advance Air, including the owner, I was unwilling to have someone there when I wasn't there. And they still refused to work with my schedule. The bottom line? DO NOT HIRE Advanced Air Systems. Because their Bottom Line (making money) is more important than their customer service and to ensure that we are satisfied with their work and product. They were more than happy to take my $9000, and completely unwilling to work around my schedule just so they wouldn't have to pay their workers overtime. read more

Brandon did our routine preventive maintenance on our furnace yesterday, and uncovered a communication discrepancy between our thermostat and furnace which I feel should have been detected on earlier service appointments, since we subscribe to Advanced Air Systems' twice yearly HVAC service plan. This is more a "kudos" to Brandon than a complaint about the company, which has served our HVAC needs well now for quite a few years. But it is the reason for my 4 star rating rather than 5 stars. I recommend and will continue to use their services. And I will request Brandon as our assigned service tech in the future. read more

Admittedly, my only experience was with the free estimate Advanced Air gave me to replace my furnace. But it gave me a series of red flags. - Of the 4 estimates I got, theirs was notably higher. - When I asked about warranty information, he told me it was 10 years. When I asked if that included labor, he avoided the question until I forced him to admit I'd still have to pay them for labor if parts went bad after 2 years. Other companies were up front about this. - When I told him I wasn't very interested in the quoted price, he stated that "The furnace model alone costs $6,000!". Spending 10 seconds on google shows the exact model to be for under $2,000. So they were giving me a blatant lie. - The quote given to me included fancy wi-fi touchscreen thermostats and other unnecessary expenses. Only when I explicitly asked about it did they admit cheaper options were available. Admittedly, one estimate salesman does not necessarily represent an entire company. I don't mind paying the call out fee for the first guy who came out since they did not charge the fee for the second guy to come out and actually fix the problem however they gave me no credit for the fees I paid for the work the first guy did that did not fix the problem, it's not a lot of money, $50 but that's $50 more then I would have spent if the first guy had not made assumptions and actually gone through the steps to insure he found the problem. This in not how to build that customer base they talk about, I'll try someone else next time. read more

Our heat was not working.We called Advanced air Systems.They came and did the diagnostics and and charged us .and said we needed to replace the power switch and control board.which they needed to order parts and returned 2 days later.They charged us 740 dollars and change and replaced the parts.we still had no heat.Came back the third time and said we need to replace the furnace because there is a crack some where and we won't have heat until the furnace is replaced.Now it has been a week without heat and we are frustrated.We decided to call some one else.Smart heating and cooling in Vancouver.They came at the time I requested and fixed the problem in 1 hour,Simple problem with gas pressure.cost us 155 dollars at allVs replacing a furnace which would have been 6000 thousand dollars. Beware. Advanced came out to my home to analyze an issue that I had with my furnace which they quoted at $85 for the review. They then quoted the work to make the repairs and also quoted new furnace options. Once we decided the repair was the right option for us, Advanced then sent us an invoice for $85 + an attic charge that was never discussed. After conversations and emails they waived the attic charge but then revised their quote by a significant amount because the said that they missed some stuff and the repairs were actually more difficult that quoted. After the new quote, I continued to shop around and found 2 local competitors that quoted it at half of Advanced new quote. The company we ended up using was great and helped us in lowering the cost because of parts that were actually under warranty that Advanced never mentions to us. This is the 2nd time that I've used Advanced Air Systems. The first time they installed a heater and duct work on a 1950 home that I purchased to use as a rental four years ago. They were on time, the quote was reasonable and the installers did a great job. More recently on one of our very hot days, I had them add AC unit to my home and some additional duct work to an addition. Again they were on time for install, worked all day and by 4:30pm that same day I had the coolest air coming out of our vents. It was lovely. Advanced air installed a new 3 zone ductless system in my home. The person who came for the estimate was knowledgeable about the equipment and financing options. The process was simple and smooth from estimate to install. The installers were courteous and cleaned up any mess they made. They also removed my massive 1925 oil furnace and kept the cast iron front intact so I could keep it. It was a great overall experience, plus their bid was the most competitive. read more

They installed a new AC unit for me which passed the city inspection. However, I noted that upon using it, the force of the air leaving the vents was weak and the house was not cooling. I called them and Todd and Ryan (not the original installers) came out and diagnosed the problem with a certain part of the unit. This was on a Monday and they stated that the part would arrive We'd. Tuesday morning, I received a call stating the part arrived and within an hour, the gentlemen were back and spent the next 6+ hours taking care of the issue. They even improved some of the ducting system. All of this was under warranty so it did not cost me anything. The house is now cooling quite efficiently after their work. Although my experience with the company is only a few months old, I couldn't be happier. read more

We recently got a new furnace from these guys and it did not pass inspection when the city inspector came out to look. The installer had put green tape on a white wire that was supposed to be green, so an electrician had to specially come out and replace it with a green wire. The installer tried to use a shortcut that was not up to code. I was not impressed, neither was I impressed when the furnace went out two weeks after installation. To their credit, they sent a guy within an our of our call on a Saturday. He said a pan of water had frozen in our garage where the furnace was located and so jerry-rigged a clear plastic tubing halfway down the garage wall to drain into the washing machine drain. The installer did not seem to be able to anticipate this problem with additional condensation created by the new furnace and that it was going to freeze and shut the furnace off. We are slowly getting these issues resolved, but it is taking time and I would not recommend this company. read more
