Went for an intoxaloc calibration, they we're very rude and couldn't make change for my cash transaction. After the calibration drove away and parked elsewhere and my car wouldn't re start called them back frustrated and they were even ruder on the phone and wouldn't do anything to make it right. Do not take your car to Advanced Car Stereo--go to the superbly better Audio Dreams. Though the owner, Sam, and his salesman Dennis are really nice people, this place doesn't have installers who are properly trained or who are committed to fulfilling a good job. I paid Sam an enormous sum to upgrade my car stereo and have it installed with them. Sam promised me that everything would be perfect and would go well, and I took him at his word. This was my mistake. Though I think that his intentions were genuinely good, it became clear to me that he's not committed to actually making sure his installers do a good job. The original installation was not successful. Things were left unfinished and the audio did not sound well. Sam, promising me that he would make sure everything was well, told me to return so that they could fix it. I returned a second time. Issues arose again. I returned a third time. And then a fourth time. And a FIFTH time. His installers could not get it right. Somehow, they could not remove this loud white noise that was not present before they did their mediocre installation and they somehow messed up the very expensive trim piece so that it doesn't fit anymore. After the final time, I said, enough. When I left the final time, and I went to pick up my car, all of the speakers were not working evenly. As I asked for help, and for someone to address it, no one cared to assist me. Now that they had gotten their money, they were completely unconcerned with actually fulfilling the proper installation that I paid thousands of dollars for. I'm really not one to write bad reviews, or to badmouth businesses. But please, for you and your money's sake, stay away from Advanced Car Stereo in Montclair. They are not operating in good faith, they have no concern for proper installation, and I regret ever purchasing from them. After this whole mess, I went to Audio Dreams. So I originally posted here and they paid somebody to get it removed so I'm going to re-post my review again also I included a picture of the manager Dennis reply to my review he cursed at me so I'm posting it here so you could see what type of management runs that shop. So when I got into the shop and SAM approached me looked at my truck then they have a lady run my credit then Sam tells Dennis "I wanna hook him up Dennis what can u do"anI got approved for 3000 the install was horrible they hacked up my truck I have pictures here to show you their custom install the manager Dennis was repeatedly rude and cussing at the store . Right when I left five minutes later my sound system shut off so I called them back and they said I had to schedule an appointment for Monday because they were already booked for the weekend when I had just got my install done. so I took it to another shop they let me see the install they re-fixed everything and now my system works I'll never be going back to Advanced Car Stereo they gave me a Kicker five channel amp two Kicker subs and a box all for 3200 what a rip off I found out that the amp is 450 online and then the subs were 230. 900 worth in materials and 2300 worth in a hack job. I'd advise anybody not to come here and talk to the manager Dennis the one who smelt like alcohol on his breath after his lunch break and especially don't come here for the Install. read more

So these guys deserve a one star because I told them I wanted the starlights installed into my car's interior, they give me a reasonable price, I sign the invoice and it's paid for at $342. They told me they were going to call me back to set up an appointment when the part arrived, but never did, so I had to call them. Hence, on the appointment day, they told me to take an Uber because it was an all day project. So I did and spent $70 on Uber for nothing because they called back after I just took an Uber home and said it was a 2 day job and instead of $342, it was going to cost over $1000 to get it done. I refused to pay due to the lack of integrity and not being upfront about the pricing from the start. I completely wasted my time, gas, and day for nothing. Do not get your stereo or alarm here! I got both of them a few years ago. The alarm never worked properly and kept going off so I had to turn it off. The stereo started dropping the connection between it and my phone so I couldn't use Apple Carplay. I went back to see if they could fix it. They just told me that I'd have to replace it. There was no warranty of their work at all! I looked at what it would cost to replace it there and they quoted me $2300.00. I went to Best Buy across the street and got the same stereo for $1200 and got free installation along with a warranty for their work for the life of the car. They even put the factory unit back in for free if you want to sell the vehicle. read more

Dennis is a good talker. I had an alarm installed years ago on my 2008 Pontiac G6. At first I was having problems with the remote start. It was a break light swith that had to be replaced. (This is my responsibility). They would reboot the remote start every time i has an issue. One time, the code for the hood was opened and thats why the remote start would not work. Fast forward to now. My alarm stopped working with one of my remotes but the other remote was still working. I did the whole YouTube of trying to fix it and somehow i unpaired the working remote. I took in and the technician looked at it. He came to the conclusion that the brain was dead. After doing more research and knowing people in the audio industry, the antenna goes out on the alarm. Dennis wanted to charge me for labor to have them for the technician to connect the alarm after he came to conclusion of the brain is "dead". The receipt says "lifetime warranty" on labor. Dennis is full of it! And back when they installed the alarm, i remember asking about the "hood pin". He said yes, they installed it. After going to another stereo shop, they confirmed that a hood pin was NOT installed. I will add pictures at a later time to all the holes they left on the bottom dash panel from taking it on and off. I will NOT take my business to a place that will tell you what you want to hear. read more

Came in one day to get a quote on tweeters, front and rear speakers, and an 8in sub with amp for my jeep. The gave me the price at about $665 including installation. Came in another day to purchase the speakers and get them installed. They made my bf and I wait for the original associate; Chris to obviously make sure they give us a price no lower than the original. He took too long so we said just give us a quote. They gave us a quote of $376 for the speakers and $300 something for installation LOL Chris came in and tried to negotiate another price. So basically, my bf got frustrated they kept changing the prices and gave us about 3 different quotes. Ended up buying the products at this place and getting them Installed at Audio Dreams in La Verne for only $180. OH and to top it off, they gave me the wrong size for the front speakers. They gave me 5 1/4 when they were supposed to be 6 1/2 .. and they charged me $20 more for it than Audio Dream would have. Thankfully, Audio Dream in la verne exchanged them for me at NO cost. 2 stars for the friendly customer service and the willingness to try and negotiate.
