I'm hopeful that the home energy audit could put me on a better path to resolving the cooling issues in my home. I picked Exxel to replace our system based on these: 1. Very detailed quotes, model number, seer, eer, afue, capacity, etc. everything that I needed to research and compare. 2. Detail explanation of the warranty period. 3. Explanation of what would happen on the day of installation, again very detailed, so no surprises. 4. I asked for multiple quotes based on two stage and variable stage units and seers. Bob wasn't annoyed that I asked for multiple quotes so I can research and compare. He provided multiple quotes in less than 24hrs. Other companies seem annoyed that I asked for multiple quotes and didn't really provide what I asked for. I felt that he understood as consumers, we all do research before purchasing high price items and he was not annoyed with that fact. 5. I had additional questions (probably some stupid ones that hvac professionals get all the time) and Bob patiently answered my questions. At the day of the installation, they arrived within their estimated time. Bob and Greg were very professional. They called in the morning and gave me the arrival time. Since we don't wear shoes in our house, I had covered our floor with tarps, too my surprise they put their tarps on top of my tarps. It was totally fine with me considering they observed that we don't wear shoes and respected that and tried to keep our floors clean. The install took about eight hours and I was glad that there was no pressure to sell me other stuff. They cleaned up the area before leaving. I highly recommend Exxel and wouldn't hesitate to use them again.....when it's time to replace our upstairs heat pump.

What we didn't expect was that we couldn't get the property insured unless we agreed to replace all three heating and cooling systems within a month! We scrambled to find a good HVAC company that could do the job for us. Enter Design Flow Heating and Cooling. Working closely with us, they recommended three cost-effective heat pumps. They then removed and disposed of all the old systems and installed the new ones well within the thirty-day limit. But once we moved in, we discovered the upstairs wasn't being cooled uniformly, and in fact the previous owner had blocked the vents in some places in an attempt to balance it. The pros at Design Flow diagnosed the problems promptly and installed new ducts and returns to draw the hot ceiling air away from areas where the temperature was too high. It made such a difference! I feel like I got so much more than what I paid for. At a minimum, you only have to look at the pictures to see the quality and care of the work they did. More than the quality, they were quick. The team was just here Friday, but they were in by 7 and out shortly after lunch. Very impressive. Now I have a brand new unit that is much more efficient than my previous unit so I shouldn't need much HVAC work in the future, but if I do, I know that I'm not going to be shopping around. After expressing my dissatisfaction in a survey they emailed, the owner of the company called and proceeded to berate me before ultimately hanging up the phone because I gave him a 1 star rating on Google maps. After waiting almost a week to get our kitchen sink unclogged, before hanging up the phone the owner "Tommy" refused to return to the property and told me to contact the home warranty company to have them send out a different contractor. Absolutely unreal the way this experience turned out to be for what I thought should have been a very straightforward plumbing issue.
