We've requested the help of Ilya for a few years and have always been grateful for his attention to detail and quality of work. Two examples include rebuilding a cedar sided deck that was rotten in various areas (including support beams) and rot coming from a separate window trim. Ilya and his crew supplied images detailing the damage the the plan as he moved forward, keeping us informed the entire time (as this was more of an exploratory style of job, since we were unsure how deep the rot would go). Horrendous service, atrocious attitude. Ilya was a pain in the butt from the start. He was difficult to talk to on the phone, because he talked over me & didn't seem to comprehend anything I was saying to him without my explaining it several times. After booking my appointment weeks in advance (he couldn't get me in sooner than that?), he was a COMPLETE NO-SHOW. Apparently, even my texting him earlier on the same day of that first missed appointment didn't make him realize that we had an appointment that day. After he didn't show, I called him, & he rescheduled for the very next day (why did it take him weeks to get me in before?). And then he canceled the SECOND appointment an hour or two before the appointment window was ending, so effectively, a no-show 2 days in a row. (I had taken 2 days off work for him.) He told me he "didn't do" the floor repairs I needed an estimate of, though he had scheduled me for exactly that in the first place, & prior to the FIRST missed appointment, he already had photos of my flooring. Then he never texted back after just telling me he wouldn't help me. His communication was consistently slow or absent. One of the worst parts was that when I wrote a complaint about him on Yelp, he had the nerve to reply & say he had never heard of me & that we had never done business together, not realizing I've got ALL the receipts--incoming & outgoing phone calls to his phone number, and texts showing exactly what he said to me & when he said it--he even signed his name to those texts. When I called him out on his outright lies, telling him I could prove it, he literally immediately deleted & rewrote his reply to me to be all sweet and apologetic, which REPLACED the answer where he basically called me a liar & said he had no idea who I was and that we had never been in contact. (He replied that to someone else awhile back, too. Makes me think that was a lie as well.) Ilya is a DOUBLE NO-SHOW, an outright liar, & a real piece of work. SUPER shady. I hired Ilya to renovate a bathroom in a rental property I own in Everett after the tenant point out mold growing on an adjacent wall. He was VERY thorough when looking at the project, he checked the flooring in all of the adjacent rooms for signs of rot. His price was reasonable and noted that there could be additions depending on what was found once everything was opened up. Needless to say, more was found! But his additional charges seemed very reasonable to repair the damage. Additionally, we received a defective vanity from Home Depot. He ordered a replacement but when that arrived it was also defective...then he worked some sort of magic using doors and or drawers from one in the other to make it look correct. I have had the WORST luck with vendors over the recent years, but these guys are a breath of fresh air! This guy messed my deck up and over charged me for it. He quoted me $1500 to level my deck, came out and turned one screw and said "that'll be $1500". I said what the heck that took 5min? he "said well i said i'd do it for $1500". ok, fine. well turns out, decks are not supposed to be level, they are supposed to have a slope so the water goes away from the house and it's been accelerating water damage at the intersection with the house. read more

While going down the steps from our second story outdoor deck one day, my wife's leg fell through a rotted stair plank about ten feet off the ground! Luckily I was right there to help her back up and thankfully after a trip to the E.R. we learned her injuries were not severe. Now, we knew that the deck was one part of our home that needed attention after we bought it...but we didn't think it was that far gone. Anyway, we needed someone to repair the stairwell and we figured we might as well get two other things done as well: first of which was the entire floor of our deck since it was made from the same questionable wood...and second of which was the two gates to our back yard that looked like they weren't far behind from falling apart. Advanced Home Repairs had great reviews so we decided to get a free estimate from them. Now when you first meet the business' ower Ilya, he might strike you as a bit young...but trust me the man is super knowledgeable and does his homework. He kinda reminds me of one of those guys you'd see on HGTV doing home makeovers. So after a reasonable estimate of work needing to be done to repair: 1) the stairs, 2) the deck floor, and 3) our two back yard gates...my wife and I decided to give Ilya and his crew the green light. We went with composite materials as much as possible in place of wood for two reasons: 1) it's much more durable and lasts longer than wood and 2) the ever fluctuating cost of wood was high enough that it wasn't much cheaper than composite. Immediately after the initial demolition, Ilya discovered that the deck and stairs were a lot worse off than even he initially thought. After my wife's accident we didn't want to mess around when it came to anything structurally related. So we agreed to almost everything. The exception was a railing on the side of the house that was rotted at one end but was otherwise still sturdy. Unfortunately, these added reinforcements to the deck and stairwell's structure ended up ballooning our final cost by about 40%...but it was worth it for the peace of mind. I honestly didn't think Ilya and his crew could get the work done in under a week but holy cow they were done in four days! And the results speak for themselves! Advanced Home Repairs has done an absolutely amazing job at not only doing much needed repairs to our home but making it look good as well. We contacted Advanced Home Repairs to take at look at repairing our rotten chimney chase siding as well as removing a tree. Ilya was quick to come out and take a look at the problem in order to give us an estimate. The estimate sounded fair, and Ilya seemed knowledgeable and professional so we agreed to get started on work. In all, the repairs took about 2.5 days. There were a couple of small additional issues found as the siding was taken out (we were warned this may be the case), and Ilya made sure to give me a call with my options and any additional estimates when that happened.
