Can't get anything scheduled-- no one ever calls you back. I play the game I was told to play -- go in every 3 months to make it easy to get me scheduled for when I do need an epidural-- what a joke -- they called me last week to finally schedule an epidural I was supposed to get in November-- never happened. Then I got diagnosed with endometrial cancer/ had surgery before they even got back to me about scheduling epidural. Told them I can't drive now ( 1 week post op) and don't want epidural right now while recovering but could I get a refill on gabapentin due to back pain with no epidural. Wouldn't do it-- since I haven't had a refill in 3 yrs. I often go mths without taking it --but I have to come in for a drug test --be seen-- again. Just saw me 6 wks ago. Then Kate told me to just ask another doctor to send-- maybe my PCP. Wow-- i guess since I figured it was a pain management prescription that id call pain management first. Well-- after 2 weeks of trying to get them to return my calls about the refill (office finally called this am to say no) I decided to take kates advice and call PCP. Even though hasn't seen me in 6 MONTHS he was willing to send. So I have to think that there are better pain management practices out there. Doesn't matter how good your providers are if the practice is this poorly run. I know I need to start looking around--

Through the site, Executive Retreat had great reviews, so I gave the 60 minute massage (+ aromatherapy) a shot! The scheduling of the appointment was a little back and forth, but being a smaller establishment, I could understand when I got their voicemail. I will say though, they did always call me back. I scheduled my appointment for 5:30 in the afternoon - enough time for me to come in from work. Fortunately, there wasn't any traffic, so I was there 45 minutes early. I easily found their building, but found that they were away until my appointment time. That was fine...I went to Qdoba and ate dinner. Got back at about 5:20 and it was open. The space is very calming. The purple wall color and soft lighting put me at ease. I had to fill out some paperwork and then was escorted to a room. The massage therapist and I chatted for a bit about my goals of the session and she left to let me get undressed. One thing I do like, that this place didn't do, is a foot bath. My feet were in shoes all day and really could have used the soak. But eh, what can you do. We started the session and the massage was great. There were a few things that were different - like she had me push down on my leg against her hand (similar to physical therapy), and she only did it to one leg - but overall, it was relaxing and I felt good afterwards. It was only when I left that I realized that I didn't get any aromatherapy. Not a big deal, but if you order it, make sure you ask about it up front.

I got to pick therapist, or they will pick the therapist for you based on the schedule if you have no preference. Too bad they only have limited selection on evenings and Saturdays. The environment is very calm and relaxing, with soothing music and lighting. My therapist Amanda was amazing. I have been sitting in office and my shoulder and upper back was tight and tired. I requested to do the deep-tissue massage, with my pick of lavender essential oils. After the hour of massage, I felt so relaxed! I highly recommend to anyone!
