He also saved me digital copies free of charge. When later I realized I needed 4 print copies instead of 2, he offered to send me those by mail. I still went over to get them and he didn't charge me a penny. I had a lot of work done over $100 worth and when I paid I realized that one of the things we discussed and I had it written down was not done. I recently came into negatives from my parent's wedding, which took place in 1950. The negatives were in an old church envelope and were a medium format, so I could not just get them printed anywhere. I took them to George on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. I wanted to have the negatives cleaned up and 4 sets of photos printed. He originally told me about a week, as he was going out of town. He emailed me the Saturday after Thanksgiving to tell me the job was completed! When I picked up the photos, they were better than I could have expected! I needed a pair of visa photos in unusual dimensions on short notice. This was the first place I called that could deal with any measurements (for the face, also for the photo itself; and not just the common US/EU ones) and did not require an appointment. The quality of the photo (given the mugshot pose that's required) was excellent, and all measurements were to the millimeter. Also, even in the midst of all the COVID-confusion, just pleasant people. I needed a digital passport photo taken so that I could apply for an Irish passport using the (fairly picky!) online system. Most places seem to be reluctant to give you the digital file, or they try and charge you a ridiculous fee. At Advanced Photo, I was in and out in under 10 minutes. George took a couple of photos and let me select the one I was happy with. I asked for the photo on both a USB drive and also via email, which they happily provided. The cost was about $17 dollars, which was way less than other places. The photo taken was accepted by the online passport system without issue. Couldn't ask for more, really! read more

I recently returned from a trip to Michigan where I shared a CD of the 400 slides (from 1960 to 1984) that Advanced Photo converted for my family. They were such a hit! 10 of us spent about 2 hours looking at them on a large TV monitor laughing the whole time. The kids took photos from the screen to send to missing siblings and parents asking for explanations of "the look" we were sporting some years. The conversion job was done quickly and I did not have to mail my precious original slides to an unknown lab for conversion. Could not have asked for a better experience. I needed a visa photo and according to my future employer it had to be exact specifications. I emailed George via Yelp and he quickly responded. I stopped by the shop. He told me there was no way to get the photo the exact specs but he would take the photo and if it wasn't correct, email him and he would fix it. A family came in while I was there, I asked told him to service them while I tried to verify information. Because I had to wait (even though I suggested it) he gave me a discount. He absolutely did not have to do that. The family had two small children taking passport photos. He was so patient in getting them right. With regards to my issue, George was correct. With the language barrier, I received the wrong specifications for the picture. I emailed George the correct info and he emailed me back within a few minutes with the correct pic size/pixels. I brought in a handful of old photos and two discs of scanned photos, and beyond knowing I somehow wanted to put something together for my mom I was clueless. George was soo patient with me and offering to show variations.. because why would I want to change a once color photo to sepia? Um, because my vision is terrible anyway and that was once color?? Ultimately, I went with two versions of each photo I had retouched and sized. The photos were done in just a few days and the total price was a lot less than I expected. When I was picking up (and then spending the next hour driving Kenny crazy picking mats and frames) I mentioned that my aunt had sent over the photos and George graciously printed out a cd of photos to send back to my aunt. I contacted Advanced Photo after reading all of the rave reviews and am really happy I did. Beginning with my first phone call to George all the way to the end product, it has been a very pleasant experience. My mother gave me the task of finding a place that would scan several old family slides from the 50s and 60s that are extremely precious to her and our whole family and to burn them to a CD. She was very worried about leaving them somewhere with the chance of never getting them back. George reassured me that he does all of his scanning on site and they would not be sent out. He scanned about 80 or so slides for me at a very reasonable price. I also gave him my old wedding video on VHS that he had burned to a DVD for me. I had it burned to DVD before by another place, but the quality was really bad. After only a few days he emailed me to let me know that my DVD was already back and that he was almost finished with the slides. I was really impressed with the fact that he contacted me to let me know this and that the slides were fine. I was able to reassure my mother and put her worries to rest because of this. The next week I picked up everything and he had done everything I asked him to do---naming the files---keeping the slides divided in the envelopes as they were when I dropped them off. The scanned images turned out excellent and the wedding DVD is much better quality then the other one I had done years ago. We have about 1,000 or so more slides we have to sort through, but I know I will definitely be using George to scan these as well. As a professional photog I do not see any point in the additional expense and hassle running desktop printing when I have George. I also don't try TV repairs or reshingle my house. There are experts for that. He does fantastic work and it's fat cheaper than Epson cartridges for the seldom one off or large print runs. Convenient location with parking. If you're going to have your passport for ten years, you may as well take the time to get a good passport photo. Advanced Photo did a great job, and it took less than 15 minutes. Prior to going to Advanced Photo I had tried another place, but while the results were marginally acceptable the pics were slightly blurry. After I got the pics home from the first place I decided I wanted to try again with a different company, and we chose Advanced Photo. It was a great decision - the photographer knew exactly what he was doing and allows the customer to take several digital shots to make sure you get the shot you want for your passport. Just after my father passed (away), I emailed a photo image of my father to get duplicated so I could give out to family members at my father's Viewing. This review is for passport photos only. This place is adequate if you need passport pictures. However, it is not the best. I mention this because I came based off the high rating. They were quick and relatively cheap. However, the photographer while courteous was rushed and the print quality was very poor. I'm sure the picture would have been accepted by the passport agency without any problem. However, I went elsewhere for retakes. read more

I returned to the shop again earlier this year to print a river panoramic from an artist. I can't say enough good things about George Burnett, the Digital Image Specialist. My Mom had recently passed away, and I wanted to get all her old and new photos put on disk for my 4 siblings. George was so nice and professional; I felt so comfortable leaving over 1000 of my Mom's photos in his hands. George quoted me a very reasonable price per pic, which included photo shopping any that needed it. Compared to other shops I received quotes from, his was the best quote. This place was a little difficult to find as it is located inside the KH Framing store but not difficult enough to take away a star! I was kindly directed to the proper area and asked for a passport photo. George, the photographer, was very professional and seemed very knowledgeable. Passport photos probably don't even scratch the surface when it comes to his expertise. The lighting, the background and the end result was much better than getting passport photos at a place such as Walgreens/CVS. Let me tell you the (slight) $ difference is more than worth it to 'splurge' and come here for a passport photo. Like what the other reviewers have mentioned, the prices may be higher but the photos taken here were way better than the ones taken at CVS last year. Saved again by George and Advanced Photo... this week I needed two enlargements printed in the same day. Now, I must admit that as a photographer I prefer to print my own work to ensure proper color calibration, etc. But, out of paper, I reached out to George who reassured me that he'd have them printed by the end of the day. I sent him the images by email, authorizing any corrections to ensure good prints. Within a short while, George called to let me know that they were both ready. He adjusted the exposure just a bit and checked the color before printing. The result: beautiful prints without the hassle of printing myself. The place to go for passport photos. Waited about about an hour at Walgreens for my passport photos to be ready- came back HORRIBLE. My daughter was green, I looked like I had a weird skin disease and half my hair had been photoshopped off. My daughters pics were also badly cut, no two pictures were the same size. Did a google search on my phone in the parking lot and found this jewel, there is an actual place in the store designated to take pictures in, good lighting, a professional camera, and a person who is clearly knowledgeable about what needs to be done. You know how they say nobody looks good in the passport pics? I learned that if you're saying that you probably had your picture taken by someone who didn't know what they were doing and you're going to oh the price for the next 10 years every time you open your passport and feel your self esteem draining from your body. We needed to have an photo enlargement made for my mother's memorial service. After reading the reviews for George and Advanced Photo, we decided to go with him. I'm glad that we did. George was very helpful in giving us some advice as to what options were available like printing on canvas, putting the image on foamboard for stability, and what to think about for framing options.
