I walked in for a passport photo and was directed to the area tasked for that purpose. The older gentleman (whom I assume is this "George" person you guys rave about---and didn't seem as friendly as he had in reviews...no greeting...no smile...no nothing) shot a telepathic glance to his young assistant who got up to fulfill my request. The assistant was quite personable. The service was fast. 10 mins, tops. However, I was never asked to review the photo prior to printing. I opened the photo sleeve expecting a magical representation of myself. I guess dude HAD pulled some wizardry because he managed to emphasize the overweight-and-constipated-High-school-English-teacher side of myself that I didn't even know existed. I'm a goddamn statistician! Anyhow, I wish I had the chance to decline. I was in a rush, tho. Maybe I caught the shop at a bad time, though. I was very pleased with their quality, price, and service. Everyone was super friendly and helpful. I needed photos for a Canadian citizenship document, and of course the photo specs are slightly different than for US passport photos. While I found the shop on Yelp, it turns out that the Canadian embassy recommends them to their citizens because they're so used to making photos to the appropriate specifications. I cannot say enough about George and this company. George was responsive, respectful, courteous, and most of all a man of his word. I sent him an attachment, he printed it out exactly as promised, when promised, with a smile, at a great price and high quality- in one day. Most other business would have done it for more money, in more time. I only wish I had more things to print. Per his recommendation I then framed the oversized photo with KH framing, colocated in the same place, and they also did a fantastic job and gave me a beautiful framed picture (26 by 36) in less than a day. George is an absolute delight, is very professional, and does amazing work! He touched up and printed old family wedding photos that I displayed at my reception. The photographer and everyone kept commenting on how beautiful they were. I decided to go back to have many of my wedding photos printed by George after we tried shutterfly and the images were yellow. He fixed the colors and they ended up vibrant and beautiful. My mom was so impressed by all of his work she traveled with old wedding photos during a weekend visit from Arkansas. Wow - I simply do not have enough words for the talent, patience and skill of George who does photography and digital prints, restoration and more. I gave George over 70 pictures that needed restoration, cropping and scanning. Not only did he do an amazing job restoring the pictures, he went the extra mile to adjust the coloring and turned it around in less of a week. I had some family photos, some of which were damaged, from the 1920s-1950s that I wanted to get restored and reprinted. After reading all the great reviews on Yelp! we went in and met George. He did a FANTASTIC job! He was extremely nice and provided me with a quote that same day in an email. He was able to fix photos that had literally been ripped in half or had a large amount of damage to them. While the final price was expensive, he gave us a 20% discount just because--he is that great of a person. He works miracles and did a fantastic job. A very nice young man (I think his name was Alex or Adam) used a low quality photo that was on my phone and edited it to the point that it looked good enough to enlarge and print to fit my 8 x 10 frame. Everyone was very helpful and pleasant. I got the impression they really know a lot about printing and framing. Will definitely return for future printing needs, especially if I have complex framing needs. They can also restore old photos, crop, color correct, print on canvas, scan your old photos into a digital form, etc. Pricier than printing at CVS or Snapfish, but much better quality product and advice about how to make your pics look their best. read more

Digital pics I could see on his big Apple monitor, I ended up getting 2 for $15, plus 4 more for Visas for an additional $12, plus he took an extra pic of me smiling and sent me the soft copies for an extra $5. Thank you fellow Yelpers for recommending Advanced Photo for passport pictures! While I didn't have high hopes that my passport picture would be as great as my last one where I could still smile with my teeth showing (taken under the old passport photo submission rules), I was hopeful that it would be better than my driver's license picture where the woman at the DMV was rude and I had a half smile with an Elvis-type lip curl. Every time I take my license out, I look at that horrible picture and think back to the bad license picture taking experience. Needless to say, I didn't want to have the same thoughts when I pulled my passport out for vacation. For $15, the staff at Advanced Photo took 3 pictures of me and were extremely friendly and patient, even apologizing that I had to wait a couple of minutes before they took my picture, which honestly was literally no more than 5 minutes. They also pointed me in the direction of a mirror and put me at ease about having my passport picture taken and assuring me they'd be able to get a good one. And they were right, I had to wait about 5 minutes for them to print the picture out, but it was well worth it and I'm very happy with the picture and the overall experience and wonderful customer service. They have parking spots behind the building, but that area was a little full, so we ended up parking across the intersection in the spacious Rite Aid parking lot and walking over. I could not be more pleased with my photos and highly recommend getting your passport pictures taken here! read more

This place is great! I called George to ask if he would print a digital photo I wanted to give my dad for his birthday. I don't have a car and getting to Advanced Photo would have been pretty difficult via metro. Luckily, George was more than willing to mail the photo to my home address in DC. The photo I originally took was pretty poor quality (I took it with my iPhone in a dark restaurant), but George did a great job at adjusting the settings. He mailed it to me promptly and I received it within a couple days. I will definitely be coming back (or calling back) with all of my future photo needs! read more

Great great business and customer service. My friend had some pics she needed "restored" so we tried our local pharmacy, but the process and price were too much and we still were not getting what we wanted so we searched on Yelp and this was one of the first places that we called and left a message. While speaking with another photo business George called back. After speaking to him and him explaining the process and cost we decided to try him. Best decision. My friend was traveling back to her home the next day and we knew we could not get the pic same day but she needed one of the pics enlarged and he did that for her same day. He also gave us a small discount. The total cost charged was only to scan the photos to cd as there were only minor nicks to the photos and color correction that he didn't charge for. I highly recommend this business. I actually returned 3 weeks later to have my 2 yr old son's passport pics taken, travelled all the way from DC. read more

I recently took a photo to George, based on Yelp reviews. It was a very damaged photo taken 50 years ago, with me (age 10) and Elvis Presley. I was hoping for some restoration, though it was so damaged, I managed my expectations. George was also cautious in his commitment to end results and for what could be accomplished. George offered a modest estimate for his work and moved forward. I returned to retrieve the photo and was incredibly impressed! The photo is flawless! George advised that it was one of the most difficult he had worked on and estimated it took approximately 5 hours to restore. I encouraged him to charge me accordingly, but he stayed with his original estimate. Such a craftsman and such a generous person.
