I originally reviewed one star because of my experience customer service wise. The assistant was rude, and I feel like the doctors didn't listen when I expressed that I wanted monthly lenses. They wrote me a daily prescription anyway. I don't usually write reviews, but I'm changing it because this is the first time I've gotten a call back from the office, Kylee (or Kylie..?) listened to what I had to say, and explained what the doctor didn't about the retinol imaging and the daily lenses. read more

Everything! Dr. Schiber was professional and honest. She did not try to sell me anything. She told me I did not need new glasses because my prescription had hardly changed. She said If I wanted different glasses to feel free to look at the selection. She gave me my prescription and I left. I do not believe in attacking a business because I am not having a good day. I almost cancelled my appointment after reading Yelp reviews. They are my permanent eyecare center now! Love them! read more

Friendly staff, great doctor. Professional and quick, and no pressure sales. Problem is they lie to you. I scheduled an appt to get an eye exam done so I could get glasses. I paid the $105 for the exam and took my prescription online to get glasses and was told the prescription was incomplete. I called to ask them to finish filling out the prescription they said it would be another $35 appt for that. Complete scam. read more

Beware they do not provide you with a prescription at the time of your exam. According to consumer.ftc.gov "Your eye care professional has to give you a copy of your prescription -- whether you ask for it or not -- for glasses, after you get an eye exam; and for contact lenses, after your fitting is complete " Now I have to make a second trip back there to get a copy of my prescription because they neglected to provide me with one in the first place. read more

I needed to get new hard contact lenses after I chipped one. They did an exam and ordered the lenses. Charged me $600. The lenses came in, but did not fit my eyes. They sent them back and ordered different lenses. I went back and they were just as bad as the first set. I'm now going on 4 weeks without contacts. They told me they could only consider a partial refund and I had to let them examine my eyes with the contacts in. If you couldn't get it right the first 2 times, why would I give you a third shot? I first came here at the beginning of December and the contacts they prescribed me were blurry so I called to come back in. I came back in at the beginning of January and they informed me they only had one of the correct contacts for me (the right contact) and I needed to make another appointment once the other contact came in (for my left eye) and it would be 2-3 days for that. After a few days of not hearing back I gave them a call and they said the contact sample was not in yet and they would call me when it was. 2 weeks go by since my appointment so I decide to call them. They inform me the sample is in and setup an appointment for me (were they ever going to call me?) I came today for my "appointment" and they seemed confused to why I was there. I could then overhear them talking about how I wasn't on the books and they must have "forgotten". That felt super welcoming. I was taken to the room and they tried to give me a different prescription for both of my eyes even though the one for my right eye was correct. I had to explain this to them and they corrected it. Also, my first appointment they tried to upsell me pricey eye wash and a pricey eye mask. It just seemed super salesy and weird. I am giving two stars instead of one because the people I have interacted with have been personable and friendly. I'm just confused as to why all of these errors keep happening, especially for the cost of this place. read more

I've had a horrible experience with Advance Rockdord Eye Care. Their billing team incorrectly submitted a medical Eye exam to my insurance provider. Instead of them resubmitting a correct claim, they billed us. My insurance provider and myself called several times to resolve this issue. They were rude to our insurance provider and I. I would not recommend this location to anyone. They failed to conduct themselves professionally. They failed to act ethically. They failed to take ownership of their inability to file a claim through my insurance correctly. They failed in their commitment to called us back and to do what's right. Basically, they do not care about their customers. I was a customer for 8 years and they were willing to lose a patient due to their failure to correct their error. read more

They charge for services that I specifically signed a paper to decline. I've talked to multiple people including the CEO and no one is helpful, I have asked for documents to be mailed to my house that didn't happen either. They bill your insurance company for services you declined and then stick you with a bill anyway. It took me leaving 3 different message to just get a call back. read more

My family and I were going to them for several years. A few years ago our dr kept switching back and forth without warning. I prefer to see the same doctor every time. We also started to realize that their prices were pretty high, especially for glasses. Last year Dr King started talking to me about dry eyes, saying they know how to treat them better now. I have a history of dry eyes but nothing that is a current problem. I had some extra FSA money I had to spend last year so I let her talk me into over $200 in eye wash, eye mask, and I think some eye drops for my dry eyes. I didn't comply 100% in doing it every night and wasn't really motivated since I wasn't having an issue, but I did try. My next visit was a follow up visit and I said I hadn't noticed much of a difference. She then went on to tell me the next step would be surgery and it had the benefit of also helping with "fine lines". Another issue I was NOT complaining of. They gave me an estimate of well over $1000 and it was not covered by insurance. That was the last straw. Never going back. read more

This is the worst place ever! 170.00 for eye exam realy! if they would have told me ahead of time I would have went some where else! Snotty staff. They were stupid making the appointment! I would never recommend this place & there cheapest pair of cheap glasses started at 160.00. DONT EVER GO HERE!!! they don't explain or go over any thing with u! I would not recommend this office. When I got there the receptionist was on the phone talking, too busy to even acknowledge me. When she finally got off the phone i proceeded to tell her my name and one of the first things she said was "we recommend the retina test and your insurance won't cover it and that will be $35". I felt like she was already trying to sell me stuff. When they called me back she ran some tests, not sure what they were for she never explained anything. The doctor was ok, but she didn't explain the contact lens fitting price. I told her I wasn't sure if I could wear them or wanted them. But before I knew it I was charged $75. By the time I got out of there it was $900 on the bill. Luckily insurance picked up a lot of it. This office does not explain things very well. I have to go back to get the glasses I paid for, but I definitely won't make another appointment there. read more

The part of the eye exam machine (Phoropter) that goes up to your eyes was CAKED in orange, greasy makeup. When they put it up to my face and I saw that I told the lady, and she just responded oh I figured it was cleaned. Then I took my exam and the glass of the machine's lenses were so smudged that everything was blurry. At this point I was angry, so I rode it out, the lady proceeded to be rude over my prescription which I wont go into detail over. They're over priced, and too lazy to clean, or at least check to see if the equipment is cleaned, apparently. I had a shorter middle aged lady, and this was about a year ago but they keep texting me to return so I figured I would fill the world in. read more

After I paid over $200 at their location for a visit, I received another bill in the mail for $90 which I had never been told I would be charged for. The staff never apologized for their miscommunication after I called to find out why I was being charged extra. read more

An optometrist does not meet with you for the appointment. They do a quick check and the rest of the appointment is handled by an assistant. This includes adjusting prescriptions for contacts and glasses. I was not able to get my prescription released in a timely manner which lead to being over my 6mths. Had to drive back to get it, even when they said they faxed it repeatedly. Then, the glasses prescription was still wrong because the assistant didn't check them when the contacts were adjusted. Their lack of organization and involvement from an actual optometrist cost me a pair of glasses. An expensive lesson for me. Hopefully you can learn from it. read more

This place is super nice on the inside. Decorated beautifully. But the employees leave a lot to be desired. The ladies at the desk were just alright. Not very friendly, but not bad. But the Dr and her assistant made me uncomfortable. The assistant kept pushing a very expensive brand of contacts on me (made me feel like they get something from this brand if they sell it), over and over, even after I told her I wasn't interested. And the Dr was slightly less awful, but tried to prescribe me $130 eye drops for "eye allergies" that I don't even have. Won't be back. read more

I've had nothing but good experiences here. The staff and Doctor are great and do whatever it takes to make sure what I'm getting is most comfortable to my needs. I seen Dr. Dungin on the Riverside location and she's very friendly and patient. This place also doesn't have that dreaded eye puffer test so, if you're like most that doesn't care for that torture, I would highly recommend this place. read more

I love the eye exam and the Dr. The rest of the office staff can't seem to get things correct with the billing. We paid a balance off last Dec and in August we got a call that we never paid it. We showed them the receipt as well as the date and time it was paid. We were told over the phone that the manager would look into it.....fast forward 1 y later and no call no nothing on their behalf except a debt collector looking for the money. Take your business elsewhere. We now have a great place with eye exam and glasses $105 out the door! read more

Six months since the exam, they still can't get it right and want to charge me over $1,000 for glasses I can't use. $20 pair from Walgreens would be an improvement. I don't usually write reviews. But my trip to the eye doctor (typically a painless visit elsewhere) took a very embarrassing, shocking turn today! Before going, I was sure to call and ask how much my copay would be for a contact eye exam, as I am NEW to both advanced & my current vision insurance and wasn't sure what was covered and how much of it. After she took my insurance information, the woman on the phone told me it would be $20 (unless I decided to order new glasses or contacts of course). I am tight on funds, as I recently was laid off for several weeks, which is why I called to make sure I would be able to cover the cost before going. I got there 5-10 minutes early (with only one person in the waiting room when I walked in) and still had to wait over 45 minutes to be called for my appointment. I was patient and kind as I always am, even when it took the doctor 25 minutes to come into my room after the nurse brought me back. I had my exam, chose the contacts I wished to order at a later date, and was ready to pay and leave! Woman says my total for the contract exam only is $71. Astonished, I quietly told her I didn't have $71 to give her atm, (at this point I was already feeling pretty embarrassed), but before I could say anything more, such as I will make a call and pay for it no problem (I currently have 0 contacts and 0 glasses and... need my eyesight, hince reason for exam), she cut me off and wouldn't allow me to talk. What was truly shocking is then the woman (White, heavier-set, brown permed hair, wearing dark blue scrubs at the time) proceeded to turn to me, change her tone from "just rude" to what sounded more like "ready-to-blow kindergarten teacher putting me in time-out", and said loudly in front of everyone now in the waiting room: "okay so what you're gonna do now is follow me into this little room and take out each contact (the ones used for my contact exam that you would usually take home and discard after a week or two), and throw them individually into the tiny trash can under that sink while I watch you". She pointed, and then asked me if I one "could see the trash can" and two "understood what she was asking" with the same belittling tone and look in her eyes. let me tell you, in that moment I felt 4 again! I wish I could express how humiliated I felt in that moment, or accurately describe the way I was treated from that point on. There are right and wrong ways of dealing with situations. I very obviously wasn't attempting to do anything wrong, so I am confused as to why I was treated like both a toddler, and a criminal until I paid for a portion of it, took the contacts out, threw them away, and was walked out the door.
