They may be good at fixing things, but DO NOT sell your care through Advantage. I thought I. was selling to someone local but it is simply a conduit to a nationwide consortium that buys salvage cars (Cashforcars). Getting a quote was ok but the steps after that to get it picked at the collision storage facility was a nightmare. All calls were through India, was transferred several times, could not understand most of the people and needed to constantly ask them to repeat what they said. Arranging for pickup was another nightmare. They could not give me an estimated time, even am or pm, all they do is give you an hours notice to pick up. If your car is some distance away you need to sit there all waiting for the call. It is 3:30 pm, still waiting. read more

I have been searching for a replacement sunvisor for my Hyundai Sonata after mine broke - but they add up quick online. I searched through all the junkyards in Milwaukee to no avail, and finally checked Craigslist under "Auto Parts". I was delighted to see that they had listed FOUR Sonatas - all in my year! I called over to the place and a nice gentleman confirmed that he had several on the lot. I told him the specific part I needed and he said he'd pull one off and have it ready for me - for $25. What a fabulous deal! So I skipped my lunch and headed over there around 4:30 on Tuesday. I parked and went into the dingy office, not greeted by anyone. I told the Russian man behind the counter what I was looking for and he had a young man (maybe his son?) take me out there. We were crawling through heaps of totalled vehicles trying to find Sonatas. We found one, and the visor was broken. We crawled around 10 more minutes and the second one was broken. The third "sonata" was really an "elantra". We went in to tell the owner/manager and he said that he'd just sent one to be junked not more than a half hour ago. I was VERY frustrated and told him not two hours ago I spoke to a man specifically mentioning that car and why would he junk it? He yelled at me that I "hadn't spoken to him" and I was free to leave my phone number so they could call when a part came in. No thanks - with this luck you'll call me saying that a Dodge Neon would fit my parts perfectly. I guess I'm stuck paying full price after all. Overall the place was what I'd expect from a "junkyard", dirty, unorganized, dogs walking around, and not a lot of english. What I wasn't expecting was unapologetic misleading. read more

I've been coming here for about 10 years whenever I need body work done on my car. I recently got into an accident and needed my bumper replaced so I came in and they were able to get the parts and start work on my car right away. I had a couple other scrapes and chipped paint on my car but when they quoted me the price I couldn't afford to get everything done right away so I chose to just get the important thing fixed, the bumper. Only 2 days later they called to let me know it was done and when I picked up my car not only was the bumper perfect but the scrapes and paint chips I had on my car were fixed too! Just had the ball bearings replaced on my 13 year old Lexus 330 at Advantage by Ray. He got it done quickly and at a great price. I trust Advantage to do any type of work on my family cars. Ray replaced an engine on my last car and I never had a bit of trouble with it afterwards! My niece just got a window problem fixed last week and saved $300 compared to what the dealer was going to charge her. I recommend Advantage to everyone. Heard of this place through a friend. Upon arrival I was skeptical at first. After talking to the owner and a few of his mechanics I felt a little more confident. Since that first repair/body work, I've bought an Acura Integra, and have had major body repair on my Hondas, and Toyotas and have been satisfied every time. My toyota scion tC had a lot of damage after parking it on the street downtown for the last year. I brought it to Advantage after hearing about the place from a coworker, and have to say that I received amazing customer service and my car looks brand new. The price was extremely reasonable, and they were very honest; for example, I brought my car for an estimate at a different place and was told that the back bumper would need to be replaced. Then I brought it to Advantage and they pounded out the dents, sanded it, and repainted it...now it looks brand new and cost a fraction of the price of a completely new bumper. I took my vehicle here to get some body work done. A tree had fallen on my car and had busted the windshield, broke off a mirror, and dented and damaged the body. Max, was incredibly helpful in getting my vehicle looking brand new for a very reasonable price! There are cars to rent for a good price too if your car will be in the shop longer than you can spare it. I also had a check engine light on and helped explain and resolve the problem. Took a 1995 Toyota T100 to this shop. It needed a driver's side door and fender replaced and painted along with the front grill and rear window replaced. They quoted me $569 with a two day turn around and came through without a problem or delay. They even took care of a couple other cosmetic loose ends on the car so I tossed them a little extra. Excellent customer service, unbelievable price and problem fixed the first time! I went to a Honda dealer where I"ve spent alot of money with repairs inclduing a recent transmisson overhaul. They would not testdrive my car to diagnose a noice on the front wheel without charging me $55. Went to Advantage Auto Parts, where they were super accomdating, test drove my car for free, gave me their diagnosis and estimated cost - and took me in when I could come back. The diagnosis was correct and they charged me less then what Honda wanted to charge me, just to test drive the car! I highly recommend these guys!! This is is a good, old-fashioned auto parts yard. They have a lot of inventory and a lot of cars moving through, and sell the parts for a very reasonable price. The guys who operate it have good knowledge of what is in the yard, and the yard guys are fast at getting the needed parts off a car. I have bought doors, trunk lids and hoods, interior and exterior parts like mirrors and bumper covers. I have not used their service department. But when I want a part, this is the first place I go! read more

For over two years, I have been going to Advantage for countless car parts from frame/body to interior and even the odd bolt. If they didn't have what I was looking for, there is a good chance they can get it. Max and his employees are always pleasant, knowledgable and more than fair when it comes to pricing. Recently I was hit in a parking lot so I inquired about a passenger door they had for my car. Max asked me if it needed paint to match the car, which it did. He took the time to show me his body shop, paint booth and examples of work they had already completed. I honestly planned on taking the door somewhere else prior to this point, however, the work spoke for itself. Long story short, I brought my car in with extensive damage to both fenders, hood, bumper, door and quarter panel. They far exceeded my expectations. I appreciate it. read more
