It turns out that the vehicle that I had purchased had at least one open recall, which was not taken care of prior to my purchasing of the vehicle. They had to send it to the local Kia dealership, which turned out to be Napleton's auto parts in Urbana Illinois. The recalled part was then left under the hood of my then Kia Sorrento. That is another reason that I would not take a vehicle to Napleton's auto park in Urbana is because they left. They recalled park within my truck under the hood and I had to take the vehicle to my mechanic at Midas in Champaign to find out what it was, and if it could be thrown away. As it turned out the Kia Sorrento had a recall for the engine, Ford city in Champaign Illinois should've known about that recall when they sold me the vehicle, they should've informed me of that before I decided to purchase it. I would not consider going back to Champaign Ford city to purchase another used vehicle. If anyone is considering going there to purchase a used vehicle, I would absolutely encourage you to run a recall check on the VIN number yourself. I would not trust them to tell you if the vehicle had a recall, if you decide to purchase a vehicle from them, I would tell them that you want all the recalls taking care of before you take possession of the vehicle.

That's when we found Illini Nissan. I first met Lori (Internet Sales) and then Garry (Sales Mgr) over emails, as I was negotiating pricing (at first over emails and then over the phone). They were both very courteous and respectful and a true joy to work with. Honestly, I felt like I was buying a car from a family member. I never felt pressured or bothered in any way. Their follow up to my many questions was also really quick too. After a few days we had settled on a price that was, to my surprise, much better than any Chicago deals I had found. We then drove 2 hours to go look at the car and our experience was quite enjoyable - just like car buying should be. Having already worked out pricing, Garry introduced us to Patrick (Salesman) so that he could show us the car. We thought we knew everything about the car we were buying (2017 Nissan Maxima Platinum) until we met Patrick. Talk about someone who really knows his Nissans. Patrick was awesome and taught us about ALL of the cars features and answered so many additional questions too. We then came back from a test ride and met with Kim (Finance Mgr) to do paperwork. She was great too and made the final paperwork process so efficient and straightforward. We had always dreaded buying cars from dealerships but, in hindsight, I think it's simply because we hadn't been to a great one yet. Don't have your service done at Illini Nissan unless money is no object…read more I had to have my Adaptive cruise control sensor replaced on my Murano. They charged me $1,536 for the sensor alone! That equates to 4% of the entire price of the car when I bought it new! I checked online and found a Nissan parts company that sold the same sensor for $925. That was discounted from a retail price of $1463. So Illini Nissan charged me $611 more than the part cost and charged me $73 more than retail!!! Illini Nissan also charged me $654 for labor but didn't document the number of hours they spent on my car. So I asked the service rep and he told me they spent 3 hours on the car. That's a whopping $218 per hour! I took a discount card that Illini Nissan mailed me hoping to reduce the cost. The card said "20% Off Savings on Any Service" with the very appealing subline "You decide the service, and we give you the discount and a complimentary multi-point inspection". What they don't say is that they limit the discount to $100. Nowhere on the advertisement is that limitation noted. Yet, the cashier just lamely said, sorry, that that was their policy. So, it was tough luck for me I guess. Fooled me! The takeaway is that extraordinarily high prices and false advertising is what you get at Illini Nissan. Buyer beware! To be fair, Illini Nissan gets 2 stars rather than 1 because the repair was satisfactory... at least initially.

I bought a car from Autotown about a year and a half ago--based on how it played out and the lies…read moretold, I feel compelled to provide a review, so that others know what they're walking into. I'm sick of businesses playing with people's time and money, and getting away with it! The entire purchase was completed online, as I live over 1800 miles away. I was in the market for a new car and was taking my time, but honestly, was over car shopping at that point. In fact, based on previous experiences, I decided to shop solely online--it was exhausting! I eventually landed on Autotown for a specific vehicle, in addition to a few other dealerships with the same trim, also out of state--they, however, all had a third of the mileage (a couple of them had less than a third) and cost a bit less, so I was iffy on this listing from the jump. I reached out via Autotown's website to submit an offer (this feature is just decorative, apparently). Ben responded, completely ignoring my offer, which was more in line with what others were selling it for, again, with less mileage and more transparency about the condition of the vehicle. I should have trusted my gut, then. When I mentioned my offer, he went on basically discussing how it was a luxury vehicle, that he couldn't go down on the price, how awesome it was, and how his wife was driving it at the time and loved it! *eye roll* Imagine listing a vehicle at a specific mileage, but it's currently being driven daily. He also had a Carfax listed for the vehicle that wasn't updated, but said his trusted mechanic maintained and inspected it, but that he wasn't hooked up with CarFax--another red flag. All in all, those emails felt like I was engaging with a smarmy used car salesman--turns out, I was! I moved on after the initial emails--I wasn't feeling the vibe. I contacted the other dealers--one was regrettably unable to complete the purchase fully online, but I wasn't crazy about the color, anyhow. The other took a bit to get back to me. Unfortunately, I heard back from them after having already started this purchase with Autotown, and being over searching and waiting. Ben reached out with pictures--my signal to negotiate, but I didn't; I truly was over talking to salespeople. I had asked very specific questions about the car's function and cosmetic imperfections--I was very clear about not wanting/having time to have work done. "The car is as close to brand new as it gets. Not a scratch on it. I looked hard to find an issue and I can't."-Ben I moved forward with the purchase and TWO HARD PULL CREDIT INQUIRIES later (I financed it through a local credit union), I was setting up shipping. Parts of this process were easy, credit to Ben--had he not been a snaky liar, I wouldn't have been here, even though he could have done more to negotiate the price. Turns out the Carfax, the listing condition, and pictures Ben sent, were not up-to-date, and there appeared to be further deceptive attempts (brainlessly executed, by the way) to cover up the damage--some temporary white substance that washed away with a spray of water. There was a very obvious dent and paint gash on the passenger door, a few small paint imperfections that I could have ignored if they hadn't arrive covered up--looked like a natural fade--and significant damage to at least one rim (which was rotated over to the driver side. Deliberately? I'm not sure, but definitely strange). Ben knew the damage existed before sending me the car, as he had to sign off on it for shipping. There were also more owners listed on the title than the Carfax originally stated. I wrote Ben about this--he initially feigned confusion, then blamed me for not requesting a video to catch the damage, but ultimately sent a $500 check to appease me, with no estimate for the damage. The work for the door damage at an auto repair shop would have been 2-3x that! Out of frustration and lack of time--because I would have needed a rental and everything else while the work was being done--I, regrettably, took the easy way out and did paintless dent repair, which was cheaper and faster, but not up to par with the condition I expected and was promised. I shouldn't have, but Ben reimbursed this. Sure, he somewhat resolved it, but got off easy, regrettably. I like the vehicle I purchased. Aside from the above issues, they could have done a better job deep cleaning the inside, and the charging pad under the radio initially didn't work because there was an ink pen stuck under it--something they should have caught during a true inspection (it worked after removing the pen)--but I didn't find any other issues with it. However, I wouldn't patronize again, nor recommend this place. The whole experience rubbed me the wrong way, but lesson learned! Trust your gut. Walk away if they are unwilling to negotiate, especially when better deals exist nearby. See a few pics of my "perfect", unblemished vehicle, below.

With only 52k miles on it I thought I was gettin an amazing deal but after having the car for a few days I realized that it had an issues with the gas pedal.... After weeks of trying to track the problem there was no real luck of fixing the issues so they owner Ben gave me the opportunity to switch into a different vehicle! Even tho I loved the 2019 Buick Regal I honestly feel like I got a Wayyyy better deal by switching to the 2019 Chrysler 300 all Black with the tinted windows! Ben worked with me on the numbers so that all of equity that I had from the other car went into the Chrysler! Ived had the Chrysler for about 2 months now and I'm loving the car I'm able to pick up my kids out of town about 2 hours away, make it back and forth too work with no issues, take comfortable joy rides without any issues.
