I'm very frustrated trying to schedule service for my car. The usual phone numbers seem to be routed to a call system that won't let you talk to a live person. I want to speak to someone to get specifics about the service I need and the estimated cost. This dealership adds a surcharge to credit card payments and I would prefer to have enough cash when I pay the bill. I even tried their chat bot, but no one has contacted me. My experience at Advantage Hyundai in Hicksville was extremely disappointing. The customer service I received fell far below expectations. During a phone conversation, Christina apparently believed I was on hold and made inappropriate comments that I was able to hear in full. Listening to those comments firsthand was shocking and incredibly unprofessional, and it left her with major egg on her face once she realized I had heard everything. I then attempted to seek assistance from George, but my concerns were not addressed, and I felt that no meaningful effort was made to resolve the issues. To make matters worse, Anthony, the General Manager, attempted to smooth things over by providing information that I later found to be false rather than addressing my concerns honestly and transparently. Instead of taking accountability, I felt as though I was being told whatever was necessary to end the conversation. Purchasing a vehicle should be a respectful and straightforward experience. I am appalled at the sleezy bait and switch tactic used at this dealership. Up until we had the agreed price, they were polite and friendly . Saadia was nice and we double checked that the price we agreed to for. Kona Limited was correct and we were paying cash, not financing. She checked with the manager Christian and she came back to us and said he said yes, this would be the price for cash too, but no extra oil change. When we were ready to transfer the money from my bank account, and I needed the number for the check with tax, Christian last minute said he would not honor our agreed upon price for paying cash he said we'd have to finance to get the1000 off when just 5 min earlier he had said yes. This is not how you do business. It's bait and switch, shady as hell and unprofessional. My review comes after I bought a car and went to service twice. The car buying process wasn't terrible, the salesman Paul was nice and helpful, but the finance manager was extremely pushy. Otherwise not a bad experience, the dealership is nice and it has decent amenities. My two stars come from the service side. 2.5 hour oil changes and $70 wiper blades really piss me off. My word of advice is to go to independent dealers for maintenance. For repairs under warranty go to the dealer. These cars are supposed to be something the average driver can drive for years, but the build quality of the cars is garbage and then the techs that try to fix them are left with the impossible task of fixing and re-fixing the same problems over and over. I recently purchased a used 2021 Toyota Highlander from this dealership and I was happy in the beginning. When I purchased the vehicle I looked at the tires and on the side I was on and they looked good. I found out later that my vehicle has 3 new tires and 1 old original tire with 51,000 miles on it. They are not even the same brand tires. When I called my salesperson they told me that it passed inspection and it should be fine. I said its not fine, who changes 3 tires and not 4? I said I went to that dealership because I didn't want to use some little dealership that could take advantage of me. I wanted to use a reputable dealership. My salesperson told me they would speak to the person in finance know about this concern and get back to me. Well I'm still waiting for that call. Just finished a week ordeal with Jose Romero at this dealership. I spoke with him daily about an offer he made, and said, no problem. i requested it in writing, eventually sent me a quote that he jodded down. I then asked for at least a Manager to be linked in on Email and quote, everyday," Yes, no problem". We have your car coming tomorrow. Called today, this is over a week in, back and forth. "Yes, I have your official quote on my desk, emailing you now, all is good, don't worry". Still nothing! I call and ask for manager. Buying a car is always an interesting experience. After working by butt off the last 5 months I decided to treat myself to a new car. I was driving a 2012 prior, so a 2020 was a huge upgrade for me. I made an appointment online, not knowing what current COVID-19 protocols were in place for car shopping. I was given my preferred date and time and was told what car salesperson I was meeting with. The day of my appointment came. When I arrived my assigned salesperson was busy, so I ended up meeting with Casey. It actually turned out for the best, as I'm more comfortable with a female salesperson being a woman myself. Casey was wonderful. Showed me some cars and we went for a test drive. She answered all questions that were brought up. She was also very knowledgeable about the car and helped me set everything up with the app for my phone. I've knocked off one star because they had to find the car in the color that I wanted. I was told it will either be driven in from another dealership or come fresh off the truck. My pick-up day came and was told my car didn't come on the truck and it was being brought in from another dealership that's "15 mins" away. My car ended up coming to me with 75 miles! That's not 15 minutes away. I was then told that it came from New Rochelle. Which doesn't make sense either, as that dealership is only 33 miles away....so I'm not exactly sure where my car came from. But it definitely did not come from New Rochelle and it didn't come from somewhere 15 minutes away. Overall, it was a decent car buying experience. read more

Dropped off vehicle second time and they said it was repaired when the issue wasn't resolved. The issue: window does not roll up automatically until it relearns the command EVERY drive. The micro switch was replaced and it still didn't work. The SA (service advisor) comes out to see the issue is not resolved. He pretends to troubleshoot by repeatedly opening/closing the door, rolling the window up and down (knowing it's going to relearn the command and then properly auto-roll up/down) and turning the engine on/off. He says it works now and you're good to go (it was NOT fixed. It only learned the function until the car shuts off & then doesn't work again) PATRICK...... AVOID THIS MISERABLE PERSON AT ALL COSTS. Search "Patrick" in the reviews section and see all the people he's made frustrated. Patrick was my SA and both times I came in he was unpleasant to work with and rude the duration of each visit. This dealership will try to frame its incompetence on the consumer and its sad because you guys work with numbers for a living. I called to inquire about a Vehicle and inquired if they could match my deal because I was willing to pick up the car the same day. I was told by the appointment coordinator Daniel Dezio that advantage Hyundai matches any deal and he asked me to email him the lease order I have so he could show the manager and get him to match the deal. (Mind you this is a legitimate lease order from a legitimate Hyundai dealership with all their info on it) I get a call back from Daniel a few moments later with a very different tone, stating that my deal is illegitimate. Stating it looks hand written (it was not. It was typed) claiming that the math doesn't add up on the lease order ( the math did add up) and he questioned and basically chuckled at the legitimacy of my deal because they did not see a vin number (which was also provided on the lease order they asked to see. I guess they missed that too) The tone in which this was explained was very unprofessional, as if they were talking to a child that was wasting their time??? The fact that they cannot even add up simple numbers correctly is concerning enough. You guys work with numbers for a living and can't add up what's in front of you even on a calculator? And on top of that you cannot distinguish what is hand written from typed on a sheet of paper? Very concerning...... I am a college educated man with a Masters Degree and you trying to tell me that my deal is made up? Let me assist you since you guys can't do math and add up taxes and fees 1157.85 + 322.87 + 650 + 350 = $2480.72 (simple enough right?) Honestly the staff here are all so sweet and amazing and take care of my parents all the time I got to see that when I took my parents car in for them for a speaker issue. From when you arrive to the Valet people to the Adviser to the cashier they all treat you with such cate and kindness help you address your concerns. I was defaulted by Advantage Hyundai! When I purchased my leased car, Mike from the financial department secretly added "3YR PPP $921" into my billing without informing me anything. I caught it out after I went back home and called him immediately for a correction but he rejected. So I had to go back to the dealer to find another manager to cancel this nonsense product. The cancellation paper said it takes 2 weeks to process. But now it has been over 11 weeks and I have not received any update or refund. This dealership has a lot to offer in terms of amenities, car selection and service. My wife and I have been dealing with them now for at least 15 years. Here's the kicker, we live in Brooklyn! That's right, we drive over an hour each way to get there and back. We obviously have closer Hyundai dealerships to us but we see no reason to switch. Advantage is well run, very clean, and always genuinely friendly. Not in the sales kind of way. There's an asian market next door that we usually run over to forLLP a snack at while we wait for maintenance/checkups on our car. The last two cars we went with we were helped through the process by Henry. We appreciated his approach so much that we actually requested him this last time. Not to say that the other members of the sales team aren't great. We just hit it off with Henry. He's a no nonsense, straight shooting kind of guy. If I could give this dealership zero stars I would. I want to make everyone aware of this shady business to protect others from purchasing a certified pre-owned vehicle here. Especially from the salesman Adrian Powell who has refused to e-mail or call my back to rectify this situation. My mother purchased a certified pre-owned vehicle from this dealership in June 2022. I'd also like to note that the dealership never shared a carfax with her when making the purchase which is a RED FLAG. 3-4 weeks later after purchasing the car my mother notice some rusting on the car. She brought the car back and the dealership simply painted over it. Fast forward another 4 weeks later, my mother started to see the rust and expand on different areas of the car. A week after this she took it back to the dealership so show the extensive rust under the car (see photos). Nothing was done to repair it nor was the vehicle examined. My mother then went to a 3rd party mechanic to get an oil change and the mechanic pointed out further rusting on the wheel of the car. Ever since she's been trying to contact the dealership for months to have them trade her out of this car into a new one. It is painstakingly obvious that the dealership knew the car was rusting and just did a paint job to cover it. On December 17th my mother decided to come to the dealership in person where she was belittled and the dealership refused to provide any copies of the documents that she requested that she signed. I'm now back home and have tried to contact the dealership over 10 times. Ever since they know my last name is associated with my mother they refuse to have anyone answer. I've asked to speak to the GM who refuses to take my calls. They also said someone would send the documents that my mother signed today and we still have received nothing, Adrian Powell told me to email him the photos and said he would call me back. I didn't even have a moment to respond when he abruptly hung up me. 3 days later and still no phone call or email from Adrian acknowledging the photos he received.
