My PODS container pickup and arrival at new address went smoothly. The annoying part is that the container will not open and customer service is useless unless you're placing an order, which I do not recommend. I was on the phone for an hour and eight minutes, then decided to hold my place by in line by pressing one as they suggest. I am now awaiting a call back and they said it could be up to a couple of hours. So I went to PODS.com to do the live chat, yet another waste of my time! It's an AI function and has no idea what you need. 10 minutes later, you can switch to associate which will take a couple of hours to call. I will not recommend PODS to anyone. This is really a shame because the people who dropped it off, picked it up and dropped it off at my new location were absolutely amazing! read more

I ordered a POD and due to a holiday weekend, had to return it 5 days outside of my contract date. I called and was told it was okay, and that I wouldn't be charged for an additional month, as per one the website's FAQs. I was charged an additional month, and after a month of back and forth of emails and messages and calls with their customer service, they're only refunding me half of the extra month. I even had an agent tell me today that I did everything right, and apologized for all of the incorrect and lying information I've been given by the company, but that the case is considered closed and no supervisor will reach out to me. I urge EVERYONE to never use this company. I should be getting more in compensation for the headache and hassles they have caused. read more

This review is specifically for my interactions with customer service and the Buffalo, NY office. I will say that drop off and pick up of my pods in Washington, DC went smoothly. Delivery of my first pod in Buffalo is where things went off the rails. The pod was dropped off, without notification, in the middle of the driveway leading to the back parking lot for the building. Two other residents had their cars blocked in. My landlord called me right away because one of those residents had to leave to get to work. I immediately contacted customer service and had what sounded like a helpful call. I was told she talked to the local manager and that I would receive a call from them and that a truck was on it's way. After an hour of no call I called back. This time I was given the name and phone number for the local manager and I was told that she had talked to him and that he was expecting my call. I called several times over the next hour and did leave voicemails with my contact info. Still nothing. As I write this review I am still on hold with customer service. I have be on several holds and each time she comes back saying that she has once again, "looked at my situation and see that there is an incident report". I've been told that no one at the local office is answering her calls and that while she sent an email, there is nothing more to be done. I have repeatedly asked to be transferred to a supervisor but she refuses saying that they can't help me. While on this last call, which has been over an hour, the local branch has closed and will not open again until Monday. This is not how I wanted to introduce myself to my new neighbors. read more

The first time I used Pods I called and had customer service in the USA and things went smoothly, this time my call center was in another country and my customer service was the worst I have EVER had. I was lied to about drop off times and a friend went straight to the local warehouse a talked to the delivery guys and got my exact drop off times and they were given a totally different time than what was given to me. They were very apologetic and came on the time they had. These call centers in other countries suck. I guess you get what you pay for. They went out of the country because it was cheaper and now the service sucks. Now they said they would pick it up 9-12 and it's going on 2 and still not here. One hand does not know what the other is doing. read more

If you are considering using PODS you should know if they damage your property they will not take any responsibility. Because, they'll say you signed a contract absolving them of any damage they cause. I specifically asked if the metal feet will damage my driveway and I was told no. Well, after picking it up there were rust stains on our newer driveway that won't come out. I informed PODS of this and they opened an investigation asking me to supply pics, which I did. Weeks later I was told too bad, you agreed to not hold them responsible for any damage they cause. This is ridiculous because if they were going to play this card why make me open a case and provide pics? A convinient storage solution ruined part of my driveway. And I didn't even get into the black tire marks left behind. Buyer beware! read more

Well, it's about time to write this review. I have let a few weeks pass in hopes I would wake up from the PODS nightmare or things would "blow over" and my anger towards this company would subside. Sadly, that is not the case. The remnants of tropical storm PODS remain and I am left sorting through the chaos it left in its wake. Where should I start? Back in March I contacted PODS to get a quote for a cross-country move - Buffalo, NY to Los Angeles, CA - to be exact. I explained I just had a one bedroom apartment to move and that I wasn't even bringing anything in my actual bedroom, just kitchen stuff/living room and the biggest item was a three person futon couch. They told me how PODS works and gave me a quote. The person I spoke to informed me I could lock in in the quote by giving my credit card information and they wouldn't charge a deposit until two weeks before the POD was delivered. Awesome, I thought, that gives me time to still shop around with other options and get some more quotes. At the end of the day, I decided to go with PODS due to the convenience factor. Low and behold, there is NOTHING convenient about PODS - at ALL. I expressed concern about the fact I didn't have a driveway where I wanted the POD to be delivered as I resided above retail space in the Elmwood Village. When I called and got the quote they informed me it wouldn't be a problem at all, that the company would be able to park it on the street and I just had to call the Buffalo area manager three days before delivery so he could obtain the necessary permit. I call the number provided and Jim rudely informed me "The City of Buffalo hasn't allowed PODS on the street in over a year. I don't know who told you that." I calmly informed Jim that his company told me that, that was why I was calling him... So, with a week to go I was not left with many options. Jim told me I could load the POD at the PODS Warehouse in Depew. There goes the "convenience" factor right out the window. I called my moving crew to see what they thought. I then arranged for Jim to deliver the POD to my mom's house in Kenmore as she has a driveway. He explained her flowers may get smashed a bit but she agreed anyways. Convenience factor was again out the window when the morning of the move Jim called and said he couldn't get down the street due to construction and even if he could, the entire front lawn would get chewed up upon delivery. SO my question to PODS is, why do you say you can deliver the POD when in fact a driveway or street are not good enough! I ended up making several trips to Depew to load the POD. Now, if only that was the end of the PODS nightmare. Alas, no. I called several times to find out when I could expect my POD - aka personal belongings that I care enough about the pay way too much money to ship across the United States - to be delivered in Los Angeles. Newsflash, convenience? NO. Instead I was told they could not track the truck/POD and the earliest it would arrive was on a Thursday. I called Thursday, still no POD. I called Friday, still no POD. I had made arrangements to empty the POD that Saturday. Of course I had to rent a U-Haul to drive down to Compton since they couldn't deliver it to my apartment building and informed me they couldn't park it on the street in Playa del Rey. Really? I have seen SEVERAL U-Boxes and other portable storage containers both on my street and on the surrounding streets since I moved in. Unreal. After much concern, worry, and devastation that once again things weren't working with PODS, they called me Friday night to let me know the POD had been delivered to the Compton PODS warehouse. I went down Saturday morning with the U-Haul, emptied the POD out and nearly crashed peeling out of that parking lot. NEVER EVER EVER will I use PODS again, NEVER EVER EVER will I recommend PODS to a friend, family member, stranger, or enemy. I am absolutely flabbergasted as to how this company is so widely known and advertises as the "best" moving and storage idea ever. Yea, maybe the IDEA is great but the execution is dismal. I wish I could count the number of times I called the customer service number only to get bounced around from department to department and had to repeat my customer ID and PIN number every time. By far the least convenient business I have ever experienced. Learn from my mistake, do not go with PODS. read more

Our POD was dropped on a neighbors driveway without any attempt to call us or contact the homeowners where the POD was left, and damage was done to their lawn and driveway. The door of the POD was also positioned toward the garage door about 3ft away -- not optimal to remove it's contents. We have had to contact PODS by phone multiple times to resolve this issue and to deal with re-imbursement and have been on hold 15-30-45 minutes at a time. The lone bright spot was the driver who came to move the POD, he was professional and did a fine job. Pretty bad experience overall. read more

Don't pay for the same day delivery and drop off. I was given the same pick up and drop off window for both services. You are given an ETA for pick up and delivery the night before. I caught this mistake and tried to call to have it fixed. PODs associate agreed this also had to be incorrect and called the office to have it fixed but was not successful. The next morning, I was actually called to have my empty POD picked up before they even dropped it off. The drop off was an hour outside of the ETA given and I was told this was because someone had called out and I was given my pickup time at the drop off time with no room for planning. When the container arrived, my items had shifted and were damaged. They also caused my to pay an extra hour for my movers on top of the $75 fee that was charged for the same day pick up and drop off service. I have been dealing with the company for some kind of resolution for their mistake in scheduling for 3 weeks now and all they could do for me was a $50 goodwill customer credit. There was no supervisor I could speak to. I had so many issues on both ends of this move. They were rude (representative yelled at me on the phone, no exaggeration), forgot my lock that was ordered, forgot to note the container number they dropped off, damaged my items, and on top of that didn't do proper scheduling for the service they charged extra for. All and all I would gladly pay the extra money it costs to deal with professionals and actually have a moving company that makes things less stressful for me. I have moved many times but this was the first time I tried PODS and trust me, you would rather get a Uhaul and move it yourself than deal with this company and their terrible customer service. read more

I have had it with this company. Worst mistake I made was choosing them over Uhaul. I moved cross country from Las Vegas to Buffalo, NY and the container was picked up on May 25th from Las Vegas with delivery expected June 7th. I called the day before and was assured all was set, had people from out of state come to help me unload. No show on the 7th and when I called kept being reassured they deliver into the evening. Next morning I drive to the warehouse and am told they have no revived the Pod. Later that evening I am told that the container never left the original pick up destination. So it was still in Las Vegas? They reschedule me for the 15th, today. I was given a delivery window early in day but by 3pm when it hasn't shown I call them, I am put on hold and girl comes back and tells me she just spoke to the driver and we are his next stop. 2 hours later I get a call that my container is still not actually in New York. What??? So I was lies to AGAIN! They lie and say whatever needed to appease you and can't be honest. Now I'm estimated a delivery on Tuesday. I can't unload the pod on Tuesday I just started a new job, so I can't unload until the weekend. I am worried it just won't show up at all. My son is breaking down because he hasn't slept in a real bed for weeks. I will never recommend using this company, especially for long distance moves. I would like my money back! I'd give zero stars if I could. Our pod was supposed to be here on the 12th of May. So on May 12th when my movers show up. I decide to call pods to see right when they would be here. They let me know the dates been changed to the 16th. Customer service says well "We called you and emailed you to let you know". No calls. No emails. Long story short this company is garbage. Been on the phone with customer service for two hours and all I get are rude jerkoffs who can't give me a straight answer. Not to mention it costs double what most moving company's charge. This is hands down the worst customer experience I have ever had. I schedule my move 2 months in advance, confirmed the day prior and, when the Pod didn't arrive during the provided window, called again and was reassured that it was coming. 2 hours later I received a call that they would now be pushing my delivery date out by 6 days. I informed them that I was moving out of state in 3 days and they did absolutely nothing to help. I was able to call and reserve with Upack at the last minute to help with the service that Pods was unable to provide, but Pods had already charged my card over $2000. I have called several times and spoken to several different departments about the status of my refund and each tells me something different. I am disgusted by the lack of professionalism and customer service- I am moving across the country and now have to come up with an additional $3000 to pay another company while Pods sit on the money they charged in advance for a service that I never received (at no fault of my own). I will be sure to share my experience with everyone I know in hopes of saving them the extreme inconvenience and stress that I've experienced read more

I am extremely disappointed!! I called to order my pod in July. I was asked to give my information for drop off and redelivery, which I did! I was told my drop off location was unable for street placement, which wasn't an issue since I had a large driveway. I was told I needed to contact "Mike", I believe, in Buffalo three days prior to redelivery to get a proper permit for street placement in Buffalo. (This information was also available on the PODS website when the zip code was entered.) Well I just called to schedule my redelivery and am told no such number exists, and there is no placement allowed in Buffalo on the street. I have an extremely narrow driveway on an incline. There is no room for a POD to be delivered on my property. I would have never ordered a POD if I would have been told accurate information that essentially my POD would be stuck. I most certainly wouldn't have shelled out close to $400 to simply store my belongings and still have to pay for a moving truck to transport my belongings. I could have paid $200 TOTAL and went to Uncle Bobs, used their FREE trucks and moved it myself. I extremely dissatisfied with this and have no idea how I am going to be able to now afford a moving crew, and a truck to access my belongings from FALSE information I was given by PODS customer service! read more

This company is the worst. They charge everything up front and didn't stick to their quoted prices, intervals of payment, travel time and then communication goes to shit. They dropped off the pod for loading late and tried to cut our loading time short because they were almost 2 hours past window given. They then lost our POD even though they told me it was where it was supposed to be (after I had to call to see if it even arrived and set up a redelivery date). The driver at the warehouse was the one to actually call and say he didnt have it to redeliver and didn't know where it was. Finally later on that evening got a call back from driver saying it was 9 hours away across the state and not sure when it would get to me. A MONTH after initial pick up the pod finally arrives (I didnt get a phone call saying when it would arrive that day even though specifically asked so I could be there) and they drop it in the center of the driveway where you can't get in or out of garage with a car. Then when making complaints on all the issues and them saying they wouldn't charge me for the second months rent because of their screw up, I get charged a couple days later for said storage fee. Then they give a refund days later and short it by over $50. Tried calling back for umpteenth time and their computers just happen to be going through an update and I cant be helped and have to call back again. I'm disputing the initial storage fee because we never had access to our belongings for the whole month and redelivery fee for their misplacement and late redelivery. Then need a FULL refund for the second months storage to which we sent back the pod before the end of the 1st month. More compensation would be expected considering all the stress of possible lost pod, hassle, phone calls, overcharging and people I've had to deal with. Been such a nightmare of an experience on top of all the other stresses of moving. It would be so nice if companies could give back money owed as fast as they wrongfully take it. I will drive a moving van myself next time. read more
