I was in need of a "temporary" place to keep a house full of belongings while I searched for the right home to buy. I needed a climate controlled unit to accommodate my first class furniture. I stopped by the facility to check out the place and Mark was helpful even though there was nothing available in the coming 2 weeks and I needed a place ASAP. About a week before I had to be out of the place I was moving out of a perfect unit became available. A 10' x 20' climate controlled unit 2nd unit from the door. Perfect placement. I don't know if the stars were aligned right for me but I was thrilled to have such great luck. Upon move-in, Jacob was instrumental in ensuring my needs were met and clearly explained everything to me from expectations on my end to how they can provide service for me. I have moved quite a bit in my life in many states and have needed the use of storage facilities many times. Jacob has far surpassed expectations and it is obvious he is great at what he does. I highly recommend this facility so take a minute to enjoy what great customer service is. By the way, my furniture was in the same mint condition after a hot summer when I moved the furniture in and a brutal winter to follow. I moved out 10 months later so almost a full year cycle of climate to experience and the facility protected my furniture as well as a home would. Bravo guys. Very well done. read more

I rented an indoor climate controlled unit. There were no carts to push my boxes and the door that was across from my unit was not shoveled, so we had to carry stuff down the long hallway. I understand there was just a snowstorm but the doorways should have definitely been cleared I'm writing this review on Friday we got the unit on Monday. There hardly seems to be any workers. The best part of renting this was I was able to do it online and it was very easy! read more

I would leave this place ASAP if I didn't have so much stuff in my unit. Half the time the fence doesn't open. I call no one answers. Make sure you bring a shovel too. They plow all the snow up against The door and I have to shovel my way in. Terrible. read more

The vehicle storage here is terrible. It is not concrete or blacktop. It used to be stone but that was plowed away years ago and now it is just a big mud hole. No maintenance is ever done on the area. You are basically parking your vehicle in a swamp. Weeds grow rampant, low spots in the area never get filled resulting in small ponds throughout the area when we get significant rain, and bugs are everywhere. It is not even a secure storage as it is located outside the main facility and the fence is in a state of disrepair. I used to be willing to look the other way because the rent was very cheep but they seem to think they can just raise your rent by about $10 - $11 dollars each year without ever fixing anything. At $66 per month it seemed like a good deal when I moved in but now that they have raised it to $98 per month I can not stay here any longer. They also require 2 months notice that you are moving out but this year they felt it was OK to only give me 29 days notice that they were raising the rent again. I won't say stay away. Just know that when you rent here you will need to move in about 3 years unless you are OK with being price-gouged. read more

What happens when you cant find your key for the lock on your storage unit and you need to get your Xmas decorations? Well I panicked. I called Sarina and she put my mind at ease. Her boss was coming out that day and was cutting locks off. So by Monday I will have my stuff. I was really stressing out wondering if I was going to have to wait till the last minute to get my Xmas decorating done. Sarina was the representative that help me when I got my unit as she was as helpful then, as she was this time. Thank You ...Xmas has been saved. read more

As a new customer I reserved a storage unit online and when I arrived to pay for it the customer service representative who was on duty at the time was very rude and accused me of trying to get him fired, he said because my boyfriend had rented a storage unit at the facility and wouldn't allow me to rent at a promotional rate...The reason I had chosen this facility was the fact that my boyfriend had recommended it to me...I felt the customer service representative had treated me unfairly and in the next couple of days my boyfriend terminated his unit.....we will not use public storage again....I personally would not give any star, I only rated it 1 star because it wouldn't let me post my review without selecting a star rating read more

History

Established in 1972.

The first Public Storage building opened in El Cajon California, but the new business was only supposed to be temporary. Two partners pioneered the concept as a way to use their real estate investment while they waited for the Southern California community to take off and value of their land to grow. They kept building, and people continued to fill their units. Eventually the pair realized that self-storage was here to stay, and they never looked back. Today, there are thousands of neighborhood Public Storage locations to choose from, many right around the corner from you.

As consumers in 2023, we are used to being taken advantage of by large corporations. Hidden fees,…read moreterrible customer service if you are lucky enough to even be able to speak with a human, forced to provide personal information so they can sell it to 3rd parties, bare minimum everything, etc. I now only hold companies by one standard, honesty. Public Storage Williamsville broke the only standard left, by blatantly lying to me and taking almost $200 from me. Public Storage certainly delivered on all the other terrible things corporations do this day and age as well. They advertised $1 rent for the first month only to make you buy a lock (that likely cost them $2) for $20 and charge a $29 move-in fee despite providing zero services, they don't plow after snow so access to your storage is likely blocked after any significant storm, have limited hours of operation in which you are able to access your own personal belongings, modified their office into an automated machine and removed the staff, had a broken gate for quite some time, announced they are doing some remodeling and access to your unit may be impacted for the next 4 months and potentially inaccessible entirely on certain days, etc. Then the grand finale, I was planning to move out at the end of April but I stopped in and the manager told me it didn't matter when I moved out as they prorated the departure month so you only pay for the days you rented. Instead of moving out on 4/29 as planned, I moved out on 5/3, and was told that I would be charged in full for May as they rent "month to month". No proration or refund for only using the space for 3 of 31 days would be provided. In summary, they are an absolutely terrible company so I would highly recommend you never even consider renting from them.

I am sure you could bring your own locks, but the ones at the facility seemed to be reasonably priced and secure.

Anyways, after removing my tank, and even my own personal hose from the line to the regulator i have yet to receive our agreed upon credit. After calling I was told that they had no recollection of our deal... Beware of shady business practices such as this from Reliable Propane. Purchased our own tank from Noco and received promt, honest service. Thanks Noco for listening to your customers. Looking for anyone dealing with Reliable. I'm very pleased that I choose to rent a storage unit at public storage in Lancaster NY. I moved in April 7 2018 there was two representative that stuck in my head their names were Dustin and Sabrina they both went above and beyond to make sure my move in was smooth and non stressful they answered any question I had. Sabrina is the representative I had the pleasure of talking to on the phone before and after the move. I could tell by her voice that she was sincere and kind. She talked to me like we were friends just checking on each other because we haven't talked in a while. Dustin is the gentleman I got to meet the day of arrival The first thing I noticed about him is he takes pride in his job and his surrounding his work space was clean and his appearance was well groomed but comfortable which of course made me comfortable he explained every thing in great detail in a manner I could understand and he didn't seem to rush me when I was reading the contract which was long, before i signed. After he walked with me in the cold down to my storage unit showed my unit to me to make sure it was the right size I needed. Later that day my daughter and I came to drop a load off and our code didn't work to get in the storage unit and he put his code in to get inside so we can start putting stuff in and while we were doing that he went right down to office and fix the issue no hesitation he to was very kind and helpful. Gate has been broken for over 4 months. How in the world can this not be fixed yet? Property Manager Sarina says, "It's useless talking to me, you need to talk to the regional manager" Call him and only get vm. This is crazy! Customer service needs some work. Have been getting ripped off with sub-contract promised access for 4 months now. Gate hours 6am - 9pm.... Ha! How about whenever someone comes and opens it between the office hours of 9-5? The name of the company to call and fix the gate is right on the gate gear box. Dial it.... Fix it.... Give me the access promised and promoted on the website and my contract. Thank you! Made Reservation online and received a call right away. Sarina representative was assisting me. She was very Nice and professional. From the moment I walk in, walk through, to signing documents. It has always been very well run, easy to access, the grounds are well kept and I always feel safe when going there to access my unit. When we arrived at the facility Jacob was very helpful in making sure we had the right amount of space for our items. The unit we ended up with was perfect for our needs!
