Called AAA needing assistance for my Toyota FJ that wouldn't start. A technician from Advantage Towing, by the name of Aymen came to help me. He came quicker than I anticipated (most AAA techs have taken a min of 30-40 mins to arrive) but Aymen arrived within 10-15 minutes. He called me prior to confirm my location and then called me again when he arrived to locate my exact location (due to being in a parking lot). He was prompt, friendly, helpful and went straight to business. I really appreciated his level of professionalism and work ethic. Thank you so much Aymen for your help! Driver left my car (along with me and my 5 year old daughter) in the middle of the road once he found out the only way to tow was using a a dolly system that was more work than just putting on the lift. I had to wait for a new truck from a different company which he assured me he let know what needed to be done. The new truck sunny have the equipment and let me know that no one informed them and the first guy could have done it but it was more work and he was being lazy. Advantage towing was very unprofessionaL My car was towed to there 3620 Kurtz location when I called the first day I was hung up on and when I called back my calls went to voice mail. I tried calling the following day and they wouldn't look up my car by the license plate number. I called again and a different person answered and they looked up my car by the licence plate number with no problem but wouldn't tell me how much it would cost to get my car out of their lot or how much it costs per day that it is there. They told me that I needed to call the DMV and the DMV didn't have any information on how much the tow yard charged per day. read more

Had to call AAA Road Service last night for a dead battery at parking lot at a Mission Valley grocer near 163. At 9:19 p.m. AAA sent a text that said Advantage Towing (AdTow from here on) would be out by 10:46 p.m. AdTow called me around 10:22. Man said technician would be out 20-25 minutes. All sounded good, and on time. Got a call from technician at 10:50. He said he was 20-25 minutes away. So Juan, the tech, shows up at 11:15 ... so, yes, I'm put out having to wait 1 hour, 56 minutes for AAA help ... and not in some backwoods, out-of-the-way spot, but Mission Valley!!! But OK, I deal with it politely. Juan the tech is courteous. I need a battery replacement ... at 11:20 p.m. Friday night, when I can't possibly shop around for better service and pricing .... time to cue management to take "Advantage" of a stranded vehicle owner (me) -- and a vehicle owner (me) tired out from waiting for service in a dark, now barren parking lot. Cost: $199 for a suitable battery, whereas Firestone advertises same for $179 and my Costco membership would have charged me $89. But OK, I deal with that which I know is an over-charge politely. Juan writes up paperwork. But time to cue management to take further "Advantage." I had to pay with a credit card. So make that take full "Advantage"!!! They tack on 4% for accepting my credit card. Gross over-charge No. 2!!! Here's the tracking ... AAA schedules. AdTow gives a bogus time for tech to arrive. Tech calls after bogus time, finally arrives even later than he said. Tech marks up 1) an over-priced battery; 2) with a gross over-charge for accepting my credit card. Unprofessional to the nth degree. I hope Karma catches up with them as they take "Advantage" to treat in-trouble customers so very poorly. Lessons ... 1) You'll be wise to insist that AAA find you a different road service provider when you next call. 2) At the very least -- might be good to have a blank check with you. What a joke this company is. Biggest problem is dispatcher and not understanding how not to lie to people and AAA on how long they will be waiting. Then lying again about the truck is in route when the truck isn't and the driver still needs to drop off another vehicle first at their shop before they are actually on their "way". Was told an hour and then an additional hour. I have kids in the car that need to get to bed. If I was told the proper time frame, then I could have sent the wife and kids home in a Lyft. But instead, we're all still waiting cause we were lied to. Pathetic, use someone else if you can! Stay away from these lying pathetic losers. Update: driver just called me that he was in route. I said thanks and we are waiting and thanks for dropping off the other car at the shop before they got to me. Serviced today via AAA for a battery replacement by Omer Hayden who, my husband has shared, was exceptionally kind and professional.

The tow truck driver was totally uneducated about changing tires ... My lug nuts weren't deep enough to tighten the spare tire as the factory wheels are thicker and with the spare the lugs bottomed out and did not tighten against the wheel... He insisted on trying to tighten it more. I had to tell him to stop! and leave! ...this was at 4 o'clock. I then called back to have the vehicle towed home and was told at 5 o'clock that someone would be there by 7:00.( by past experience they're usually early) I wound up going and buying lug nuts and doing it myself... They called me at 7:20 to say they were going to be there shortly... I was already on my way home. Had I known that they were going to be that late, I would have went to get new lug nuts sooner... They obviously do not value AAA accounts ... read more

I called him back first it kept ringing and ringing and ringing and then he kept sending me to voicemail. Never called me back. Never gave me an update. AAA is usually good all their drivers call you at least 3 to 4 times keeping you updated on everything that's going on not this driver didn't show up until two hours later only because I had to keep calling AAA worst possible tow service I've ever had. read more

This is a very unethical company. My son's car was impounded and the employee at Advantage Towing was very unhelpful in providing him with the information he needed to retrieve the car. Instead, they pressured my son to sell them his car, attempting to convince my son that his car was old with high mileage so not worth paying the impound fees. Had a tow set up with Advantage Towing through AAA. First driver arrived with a wheel lift tow in a timely manner, but unfortunately the vehicle in question is not able to be towed on this type of truck. No problem, driver advises he will contact their dispatch and have a flatbed truck sent out, as that's all that we need. The vehicle is nothing crazy, and is nothing that a flatbed can't handle - has been towed via a flatbed several times with no issue. He advises us 15-20 minutes for a flatbed. No problem, happy to wait. 20 minutes goes by and no word from the tow company, so I contact AAA. AAA advises yep, they're on their way, should be there within 45 minutes. 45 minutes passes, no tow truck. So I contact AAA again, where I am now advised that my tow was "accidentally" canceled, and no one bothered to notify me. I had initially contacted AAA for the tow at 4:15. This was at 6:15. We set another tow, and are advised that Advantage Towing will arrive at 7:12 PM - spoiler alert, it's now 7:30 and I'm still sitting here. I finally spoke with a supervisor at AAA who advised that Advantage Towing has canceled the tow - AGAIN. And once again, no one has notified me. So thanks, Advantage, for leaving me stranded for over three hours! Really appreciate your lack of communication! And I would like to add that nothing is against the first driver - he was very nice and communicative, just brought the wrong truck for the vehicle. UPDATE: after 4.5 hours of waiting thanks to Advantage Towing not even bothering to send a quick text or make a two minute call to notify me that they would be unable to tow my vehicle, I was finally able to get a tow from Loyal Towing. So, when Advantage Towing hangs you out to dry, contact them instead! Or even better - just take your business straight to Loyal instead. They'll actually show up for you! read more

Issac is a disgrace to the human race. I got his personal phone number from a autobody shop, and he continued to cut me off while I was simply trying to get my car out of his lot after being hit in a freeway collision by a truck. Issac continually told me he was too busy to help me over the phone, he would not release my car without making me pay extra expenses. Horrible experience. I was in a collision, and I never gave advantage towing authorization to send it to a body shop. However, they did without my consent or alerting me. It took close to an entire week in order to get them to pick my car back up and take it to the correct body shop. they were trying to basically keep my car for ransom demanding I pay $1000 for towing and storage even though it was towed by AAA and they made up their own excuse and never shoulda been stored there. in particular, the owner or the manager named, Issac is a major jerk. He has zero patience for anybody. He told me to shut up listen to him and go watch a football game while he takes care of my car. They are AAA recommended however, that will be changing soon after AAA finds out how they treat customers and Issac will feel it in his pockets. Nothing good to say about anyone working here. Andrew showed up with in 15 minutes of my call. My battery had corroded and needed to be replaced. I asked Andrew why batteries do such things. He let me know it was a hydrogen build up in the battery and when it gets too much it leaks out. Hence the green and brown foam on the top of my battery. My battery was really stuck so with a little coercing we were able to get it out. I was a home, so I took it inside and dropped the connector into coke and cleaned up all the battery acid build up. Good as new. Andrew put it back in and got it started for me. Note for people, keep a hammer, screwdriver, channel lock pliers and coca cola in your car for those just in case moments you need to change your battery. Oh, rags are good to, it's a messy job. My tow truck driver, Christopher, was amazing not only was he arriving long before the estimated time of arrival, but he efficiently and quickly assess the issue switched my tires and advised about a battery issue, all in the rain (04/17/23) without a single complaint totally a trooper give the guy a raise five star customer service. AAA doesn't cover those costs apparently and I got stuck with a $975 bill. Scam. They want to bill insurance for as much as they can and all they kept asking was whether I had comprehensive coverage. The Worst Experience of my life. I had my car towed last night at 1:30 am and picked it up at 3 pm it has not been 24 hours . The guy had told us $256 multiple times and I have a paper that he gave me with everything written down I go back today and the guy tells me 400 doesn't wanna talk very rude and says he doesn't work for me, I hope they pull security footage to see how there workers miss communicate thinking that we're stupid. Technician Yaz was young, charming and very effective in getting my Lexus hybrid going again after a dead battery in my condo garage. He said that "you can't jump start hybrid cars because you can damage their big batteries" - not true, it's in the manual. He went out and bought a new battery for me and installed it perfectly. He charged me $350 for it and then asked for a tip. I somewhat foolishly gave him another $100 but was glad to have the car working again with a new battery. One one hand I was very happy for the work he did but a little disappointed he might have conned too much money from me. But overall I have no regrets - he knows how to please car owners who are desperate to see their dead cars working again. He was chosen by AAA. read more

My partners car had become disabled at a business center on Midway. He called AAA and they dispatched Advantage Towing. The owners brother showed up with a flat bed truck and looked at the car, went back to his cab, came back and told us that AAA would not cover the car tow because of "modifications" done to the suspension. My partner informed him that the car was NOT mortified and that the car had been towed once before! Without saying a word, the drive turned around and got back into his truck and drove away from us leaving us stranded! Would leave zero stars if I could. I got locked out of my car, and AAA had Advantage Towing come out help. The guy showed up at the wrong address even after I confirmed it, and was an hour late. When he unlocked my car he BROKE my car door handle. When I contacted AAA, they said I'll need to reach out directly to Advantage towing to have them assess the damage so that I could get reimburshed. I contacted them and at first they told me they have no record of me in their system!! I had phone calls and texts to prove that one of their guys came out. Finally they admitted that they did in fact come to work on my car, and asked for photos of the damage. I sent them photos and videos right away. It has been OVER A MONTH now with zero follow up. They're not responding to texts or calls. I will have to pay out of my own pocket to fix the door that they broke. I work in customer service and I tend to give a lot of leeway, but this is the most terrible company I've ever dealt with. Shame on you. read more

I was in an accident in the early morning, and AAA sent Advantage. They arrived within the 1 hour window, and our tow person JR was very helpful and friendly. They took my car to their lot. When I called later in the day, Isaac was super helpful in letting me know what next steps I should take based on my insurance. He helped get my car to the collision center and followed up with me when all was said in done. The service was fast for a Friday afternoon and Andrew called to keep me up to date on his arrival time. The battery change was quick and efficient, and the paperwork only took a few minutes. Called AAA to have my truck towed to my mechanic and AAA denied my roadside assistance because Advantage towing claimed that my truck was a project vehicle. My truck broke down on the way to getting a new flat bed for my truck, yes it is true my factory bed was removed but I had to remove it to be able to have the flat bed installed. The tow truck driver greeted me and asked if the emergency brake works, where it did. No more questions but he then takes a photo of my truck to send to someone at Advantage towing where that person decided to deny my call for roadside assistance. The tow truck driver informed me that AAA denied my call for help, I later found out it was Advantage Towing that made this decision, then the driver offers to tow my truck to my mechanic for $250. This was a total scam, Advantage Towing is underhanded to say the least. I have been a AAA card holder for 37 years and maybe used the service ten times.
