I made an appointment in the morning to have a physical for my granddaughter for school. Keep in mind they text me and email me a total of six times about the appointment time. They ask you to be 10 minutes early, which we were. Filled out the form and they left us in a room for an hour, even though they said the RN would be in a few moments. That does not include the 25 minutes waiting in the waiting room and they called people in who hadn't even made an appointment and we're just walk ins. After an hour in the room with a two year-old and a six-year-old, I opened the door and asked an available nurse about the wait. She was totally rude and had a terrible attitude. I have used this urgent care past, but they only have one provider which they should tell people and also if we're making an appointment, we should get in at the appointed time, especially if we've made hours in advance. Drove the wife to Shawnee Advent for chest congestion. Ample parking and very convenient location on South side of Shawnee Mission. Quick check-in and waited 14 minutes until admitted to a room. Drew was the medical assistant to prep prior to seeing the doctor/NP. Drew was professional, thorough and took his time to ensure all questions/concerns were met. Paula was the doctor/NP whom displayed patience, personable and professional etiquette and explained the root of the issue and diagnosis/care in non-medical terms. We were impressed with everyone involved from the front desk admissions to the final discussion. Highly recommend. read more

Not good at all. This place needs to be shutdown, especially when miss cockerill, an Aprn wrongly diagnosed my husband. She didn't even scrape the sores to correctly make her diagnosis. She put him on wrong medication that didn't help but Only make him worse, she wrongly misdiagnosed everything , he found out from our primary doctors office , and our primary doctor prescribed the correct medication, properly diagnosed him, and more , don't go here really. I went to this urgent care a while back. I made an appointment before they opened so I could be seen ASAP the next morning. I was there early for my appointment at 8:30. So i checked in at about 8:15. I did not leave this facility until 12:15! I sat in there waiting for almost 3 hours before seeing a nurse practitioner. All while they are continuing to do walk in drug testing for construction workers. After seeing about 2 dozen people walk right in and get shuffled to the back quickly, I asked the woman at the desk if I maybe got skipped accidentally. She rudely replied that they had previous appointments for drug testing. which i replied, " like my appointment that was at 8:30?". The lobby was full of sick patients, all waiting to be seen. One guy had a sliced open hand that he obviously needed stitches for and was trying to get to stop bleeding with a rag. Then months later received a bill from them wanting an extra 60$ for some BS service they did not do. Which I called billing about and received the run around. I will never go there again. But the Nurse practitioner was extremely nice. poor lady has to work in such a terrible place. read more

Asked for a work note because I work with patients myself and know I need antibiotics for 24 hours prior to returning to work. I always go here because it's convenient and they've always been wonderful, but after my visit today I left frustrated and in tears. I get tonsillitis (sometimes strep) a few times a year. Its not difficult for me to know the difference between tonsillitis and a basic cold because of all the putrid white stones that fill the holes in my tonsils. I also felt a stabbing pain in one ear whenever I opened my mouth wide or swallowed. After waiting 2 hours, the doctor came in, looked at my throat for less than half a second, said she didn't see any white spots (even though I had told her I'd removed them with q tips) said that my ear wasn't that red, then sent me on my merry way. Why on earth would I spend $150 and 2 hours of my time if I wasn't certain I needed antibiotics? Meanwhile my ear is in excruciating pain and I can barely swallow. I loved coming here but I don't think I'll be back. This new doctor was so awful I won't risk seeing her again. read more

Went into the office at 5:30 pm. Supposedly they are open until 7:00 pm. They told me they could not see me as the 5 people in front of me were making their jobs to stressful. I fully expected to deal with not friendly people on a Sunday and I couldn't have been more wrong. We were greeted right away by a friendly receptionist. She took my ID and insurance then I filled out paperwork. Once it gets closer to your time to see the doctor you go back and pay for the copay and sign a couple more things. Once in the back the nurse was kind and prompt as was the doctor. We were thanked as we walked out the door as well. I highly recommend. We waited for an hour as there was only one doctor but I did learn you can make an online reservation. Another big perk was as you walk in if you have cold or flu signs you are handed a mask right away. I was comfortable sitting and waiting because of this. They have coffee, tea and water. There is a big waiting area with a TV, a smaller waiting area and a kids room. Very clean. read more

I paid a visit to this location on a Friday afternoon around 2:30, with a AFib heart episode. We found the front desk staff member to be extremely polite and professional. She was very expedient and found all my health records immediately. We waited no more than 10 minutes and went back to be assessed my an extremely professional and friendly doctor. The entire visit took around 40 minutes and that included an EKG test. I'd certainly recommend this urgent care to others. read more

Do not recommend unless you're desperate. You have to make an appointment, they say they accept walk ins but sometimes patients waiting don't get to see and dr before they close. This makes no sense because it's immediate care.,.. if I could plan my illnesses, I would plan them during the regular hours my prima doctor is open. Maybe they're short staffed and this is just hOw the opérate but even the physician was more in a hurry to get me out of there than to actually listen to my concern and address my problem. I came in with what I assumed was a sinus infection even though I had never had one. I was unable to see my PCP even though I had tested negative for Covid so this Urgent Care was saving me as I was in some pain. I scheduled an appt, arrived early, and they immediately found a room for me for my appt. A nurse quickly came in to get my blood pressure and shortly after, the NP arrived to discuss my symptoms. Both individuals were very polite and genuine. It was confirmed that I was suffering from a sinus infection so they sent me on my way with recommendations and a prescription. Woman who was at the front desk was incredibly unhelpful and rude. I was told over the phone that I could come in for a COVID test because I had been exposed, as long as I saw a provider--probably just to get my copay, but it's fine. When I showed up, the woman at the desk said that I could not get tested because I did not have symptoms. I explained that whomever I had talked to on the phone had said something different and simply asked what she thought I should do instead. Her response was "If you'd like to sit here for a few hours and pay to have the doctor tell you the same thing I just did, you're more than welcome." Absolutely nothing about this interaction was helpful or kind. I understand that healthcare workers are under a lot of stress but being downright hateful and condescending is unacceptable. read more

Extremely disappointing. I came in at 11 for "urgent" care. They collected my 75$ co pay. After waiting for a half an hour they told me that they scheduled me for 2 and that I need to come back then. I came back at 150 and they called me back to a room. It has been over an hour of me sitting and waiting in the room. All the while nurses are gossiping and laughing about patients right outside the room. She finally came in after an hour only to tell me she's not comfortable treating me. Go to the er she says. I don't even think this place deserves one star. My boyfriend and I went there a few days ago and we were treated terrible. The front desk receptionists were very rude. This place is supposed to be of Christian beliefs. They need to re-evaluate how they treat people. Once they found out that my boyfriend was injured on the job they asked us to leave and wouldn't even look at his hand. We were treated like dirt! Two visits and two misdiagnoses. My daughter was also misdiagnosed. Suffice to say, ny confidence in them is not very high.

Absolutely horrible people and horrible practice. The "doctor" wasn't even a Doctor but an APRN. She came in to the room and didn't even wash her hands before touching my child's eye. She was very rude and loud and interrupted everything I said. Then she starts barking orders at me and scaring me and my child about how this thing will burst and demanded that I call an eye center right now and while I'm speaking with them she continues to talk loudly at me so i turned away from her, so while I had my back turned so that I could hear the phone conversation she went over to my child and GOT CONSENT FROM MY CHILD TO DO A SHOT without telling me anything about it. After getting off the phone I turn around and see my child shaking and terrified. she said the "doctor" is going to give me a shot on my butt. I said, what? We haven't talked about that. Another nurse comes into the room with a shot. So I said, we're not doing a shot we weren't even told about. The "doctor" comes in and I said that I had made the appointment with the eye center even though they don't accept our insurance. Then I asked why she would ask consent from my child for something without even discussing it with me. I attempted to explain to her that my child has special needs and already has been traumatized by all the Chemo treatments and this was unacceptable. I asked if she had even read the forms I had filled out and she said she had "browsed it." She was yelling at me that she was just coming in to tell me, and that she made a mistake and we should "just get over it and move forward." I asked what the shot was for and she explained that it needed to be done but wouldn't tell me what it was other than "it's just some kind of penicillin." So I told her we weren't going to be doing that because she can't even tell me what the penicillin is called. Every time I opened my mouth to speak during this entire interaction she interrupted me and yelled over me. I told her to send the antibiotics to my pharmacy and that I would like to leave and that she was not helpful at all. As the other nurse handed me the discharge papers I asked her a question and before I even finished she interrupted me saying yes. I was trying to ask if they had sent the script already or if it was in this paperwork to take and she got very aggressive and said I said yup! and started to walk away. Like which part of the question are you saying yes to be you cant say yes to both. and she yelled at me "its sent to your pharmacy!" and I said "that's all I needed to know." and as I turned to leave she said "Jesus fucking Christ" and I was just like "EXACTLY why was that so hard for you?! " Absolutely HORRIBLE UNPROFESSIONAL and MALPRACTICE. we will never go to that place again. Between constantly being interrupted, gaslighting and getting argumentative when I voiced a concern and the initial scare tactic that was entirely unnecessary to the blatant malpractice and aggressive staff I will be contacting corporate and filing a official complaint. read more

I gave them a 3 in office. Went here this morning due to pain in my left shoulder and throughout my whole arm. Got x-rays done of my wrist and elbow. Just got my elbow and wrist wrapped in an ace bandage. Pain has been and was worsening so I ended up having to call my doctors office and get told that I more than likely have a partial torn rotator cuff and a severely sprained wrist. Save your time (and money) and don't go here. I went here several times because I had an infection. The doctors varied widely. Dr. Morgan was bad. I'm not a doctor, but I think she needed to drain my abscess when all she did was prescribe an antibiotic. Really. I was mad because at a later visit the nurse took my tablet away when I had the chance to review her and so I didn't get to. I seriously wanted to ask someone for my money back for seeing her. I went back soon after because that didn't work. I got Dr. Richards. He was amazing and extremely kind and helpful. I also saw Dr.Gordan-Ames (I think that is her name; it's hypenated.) She, too, was very good and knowledgeable. Lastly, I saw an Asian-American nurse practitioner who did not give me her name. She wasn't very nice. They won't tell what doctor will be in on what day, but I think if you call and ask that day they will tell you which one is working. read more

My fiancé slipped on ice and landed on his shoulder on a Saturday, we decided to get X-rays done at centra care. He has a high pain tolerance so I was surprised to see he had broken his collarbone. While the wait was about an hour, we expected that with it being flu season. The staff was very nice and explained everything to us and were very sympathetic to our situation. He does not have insurance and I had just lost my job the day before. They gave us the disc with images from the X-ray to save us the cost to have them redone at a doctors office, provided him a sling and also were kind enough to write him a prescription for the pain. Their referral center also helped us find a doctor to work with us on payment plans for the surgery on his broken collarbone. Tuesday morning centra care called to check on him and I thought that was so nice of them to do considering how busy they are and how they are just an urgent care office. We had a good experience with this location and I would recommend to others. Thank you centra care staff! read more

I arrived as a walk-in, with an upper respiratory virus at 11:38 am on a Friday, I left at around 5:30 pm. I spent that whole time in the waiting room, while they kept putting people in front of me who made "reservations". I'm sorry, I got there at 11:30 AND YOU TOOK MY MONEY AT THAT TIME. I was definitely ill, why would you keep putting people in front of me? It can't be pleasant for the kind ladies sitting up front to have to deal with angry patients! Two women who were also ill were in tears after hours of waiting. Angry husbands. Who in their right mind would think this was a good business model? The front desk girls were very polite, did their best to help the angry patients, the nurse who took me back and the doctor were very good and attentive. No complaints about the personnel, it was the whole scheduling/walk-in/reservation process that needs to be reworked! Don't advertise yourself as "walk-in clinic" AdventHealth, just to torture sick people who use your facility as a walk-in clinic! read more

Visited for abdominal pain, they were very nice while I was there. Drove 30 miles to get home and realized they had sent an order for diagnostic tests to the wrong location. When I called to ask them to change to a place more convenient for me, I was given the run around that it had to go to their referral department and they in no way could make the change, that I had to call the referral department myself. The "referral" dept didnt answer so had to call the urgent care back. In no way were they helpful. In fact the witch told me there were other people that needed my appointment if I didnt want it and that the Dr. could NOT order the services in a diagnostic center which was closer to me and they would not even try to contact their "referral dept" themselves to help me. She was horrible, horrible. All this whille I was in terrible pain. The girl said their "manager" would call me back the next morning which did not happen. I went into the ER and had emergency appendectomy the next morning at 5am. DO NOT think this place will help you, or that they care abut you they just want your money. I think I smell a lawsuit...THEY DONT DO ANY DIAGNOSTIC RADIOLOGY and good luck with them. Just dont go here, might save your life to go somewhere else. read more

I'm really impressed with this facility! I had to go in late Friday afternoon because I was NOT going to go to the ER, and of course, no doc available. First positive: you can make an appointment! The wait, fortunately was not long at all, about 15 min at most. I explained my symptoms and they went right into action. The receptionists were WONDERFUL. The RA Jennifer (I think) who did the intake was very nice. The PA Kate was wonderful as well, and very knowledgeable. The nurse who drew my blood was very skilled. They followed up the next day with a phone call to see how I was and how my experience was. Joan, the nurse, called the day after that to give me the results of my blood work and expressed her concerns in areas that the results were out of bounds. The phone receptionist, Vee, cheerfully agreed to send my records to my primary care physician. Overall, their concern, professionalism and proficiency was amazing for an Urgent Care! Best I've ever experienced. The facility is clean and comfortable. This is my new favorite Urgent Care facility which hopefully I will not have to visit very often!
