I can not say enough good things about Troy and Stephanie and Adventure Pet. Both of my dogs have done the adventures and also been to their boarding facility. It's the only time my dogs don't want to come home! The fun outdoor excursions not only keep my dogs in great condition but it's also great interaction with other dogs. Troy and Stephanie have been absolutely AMAZING!! Before the Adventure Pet facility was actually built Troy began taking out our pups. One of our pups is special and has a lot of anxiety, both Troy and his staff have all spent a ton of time with him helping him feel less stressed and anxious. Getting him out on these excisions really helps get him get back to his old self. They really love on them and take care of them as if they were their own. I get pictures, I get updates if needed via text, and they have even taken our dogs out on solo excisions while we were on vacation to help them get our extra. They really do go above and beyond!! We have also taken them to the base camp, and I can tell you my dogs literally drag me in the door when we drop them off. They LOVE it!! They come home tired for sure!! read more

I LOVE my dogs, but not as much as my dogs love Adventure Pet. They know what day they are going on their adventure with Michael and sit patiently by the door until he arrives, one of my dogs will not even eat breakfast because he is so excited. They burst out the door jumping on Michael for love hop in the car, off they go. Adventure Pet is incredible! My dogs get so excited to go, they are at the door at least 5 minutes before I can even hear the van come to get them. They are so professional and careful with our beloved dogs. They always go out of their way to ensure safety and fun is had by all dogs. Sure they come back dirty - but that's how I know they had a great time. I cannot recommend this business enough for your dogs- just make sure you have dogs that come back! I have been using AdventurePet since they started and could not be happier. Actually, my pup could not be happier. This is a company that loves dogs and it shows. Its such a great concept -- they come pick your dog up, your dog leaves for a few hours and then your dog comes back smiling and exhausted. They also post pictures of every adventure, so I get to see what my dog is doing. Generally it is hiking or swimming.. or trying to steal someone's lunch. I seriously cannot recommend this company more for people who have very active dogs and for dogs that require dog socialization. As much as I would like to think my dog thinks I am the greatest thing to hang out with -- I really can't compare to a pack of dogs that want to play and have fun. My dog is extremely loved and well taken care of at AP, and this is the best, most beautiful facility in all of Reno. They are dog-care minded and really care about the pets' well being, which is so comforting. In fact I think at one point one of the staff offered to adopt my dog. My quirky dog Arya started with Adventure Pet four years ago. I signed her up to go out on group hiking adventures. Troy, the owner, came to my house to meet Arya. Arya has always been fearful of men, but decided from very early on Troy was one of her favorite people! Arya frequently attends day camp at Adventure Pet and practically drags me to the front door when I drop her off and is exhausted when I pick her up. I've been taking my two girls there since they first opened for business almost six years now! My dogs love them like family. I do mostly adventure pet runs where they pick them up take them out for run time! The girls wait by the door at the same time daily waiting for their pickup, so sweet!! I trust them implicitly! I learned about Adventure Pet from a co-worker when I first moved to Reno about 3 years ago. I started out using their excursions, but also boarded my little guy there. I was so impressed with the facility and Troy and Stephanie that I actually started working there a year ago!! I must say it's one of the first jobs I've ever had where I love going to work! The facility is gorgeous and well-designed to make any dog's stay there (whether it's daycamp or boarding) comfortable, safe and fun. Updating. I got a new shelter dog and started bringing both dogs. My new pup is way more hyper and has anxiety. She passed the orientation interview and was doing ok. She steadily was becoming less excited to go and then the staff was telling me she was fence guarding and being more aggressive. I was shown a video that was of her and about 20 other dogs greeting another dog at the gate they were all over the new dog but for some Reason my dog was singled out. She had not bitten or hurt another dog but was in the mix. Anyways. They have now told me she can't come to group anymore but not until after taking my money and waiting for me to pick her up. They said they had been trying leaving her on a lead since they had last spoken to me about her behavior but that it wasn't working. Interesting thing is she hadn't been back since they had spoken to me a little over a week ago. So that was a bold faced lie. just discovered this place a couple weeks ago. I have been taking my one year old chocolate to daycare since she was little at another place that is just fine. I switched to adventure pet because it is closer to work and I am so glad I did. My pup is thoroughly played out with Ben I pick her up after work. She seems to really enjoy going and she is excited when we pull up in the morning for drop off. It's super clean and they have water areas for the dogs to play in. Anyone with a water dog can appreciate this. The staff is responsive and polite. I highly recommend this to people who aren't just looking for a daycare but for their dogs to actually play hard and get dirty. read more

From day one, the owners and staff at Adventure Pet have been amazing with my sweet Jolene! Within the first couple of months being there, Jolene had a reaction to the terrain and Troy was on it! Turns out Jolene had some soft paws and from that day forward she was deemed "Sissy Paws." The fact Jolene is so excited to go to Adventure Pet, and is a sad panda when I pick her up, means they're doing something right. We now call Adventure Pet "Disneyland" because she's that excited to go. I often will choose to board Jolene at Adventure Pet over a dog sitter because she is so well care for and has so much fun. Gosh I can't even explain how much I LOVE this place. They are so easy going and smart. I appreciate the care that they provide to our pups. We rely on adventure pet and they never disappoint. There have been times I've had to drop our dogs off with no notice and they gladly accept them with open arms. Our mastiff, Remi, loves these girls and guys more than anything. This place is definitely worth the money and puts my mind at ease when I have to leave my fur babies in their hands. I love that they get to play all day and are put with their "activity level group" rather than an age or size group. I'm so jealous of Troy and Stephanie, I wish I had their job! The dogs just left for another adventure hike this morning. When Adventure Pet arrives they can hardly contain their excitement in getting out the door! They come back happy and ready for naps! We have been going on Adventure Pet hikes for the past several years and the dogs look forward to their days - we do too as they get out in the fresh air and exercise much more than we alone could do. My boy Tau and I have been clients of Adventure Pet since we moved home to Reno 2 and 1/2 years ago. Tau goes on two adventures a week with Shannon, who is a hero in our household! My pup loves Adventure Pet! I bring her to their day camp three to four times a month. She shivers with excitement upon the turn before Adventure Pet and tells me all about it when I pick her up. The staff gives me a report on her exploits of the day, whether or not she had a good or bad day, and asks questions if they notice something different about her. The staff also knows which group she'll fit in with best and which group may be a stretch for her social level, and they seem to choose the right group every time. My dogs and I love Adventure Pet and the staff there!! We've been going there since before they had the physical building and have had nothing but great experiences with the staff! One of my dogs is a 13 y/o rescue who has separation anxiety and is blind/deaf and they take such GREAT care of him!! I cannot recommend AdventurePet and Dawn any more highly! Dawn is reliable, organized, and oh-so-fantastic with my dogs. My dogs are nowhere near perfect and she has helped me understand and address their issues and tendencies. They are better behaved, happier, more socialized, fitter dogs when they go out with AdventurePet. And the reaction the dogs have when they see the AdventurePet van pull into the driveway is priceless...Boomer gets so excited, I've considered videotaping his squeals of joy and posting to YouTube. When relocating to Reno last year, one of our top priorities was finding care for our pup with our frequent work travel. Fortunately Adventure Pet Basecamp opened just as we arrived in town. We can not say enough good things about this entire operation. We now have 2 dogs and it is their home away from home. Last winter, our biggest concern with the impending arrival of our first baby was what we would do with our pup if we had to go to the hospital in the middle of the night. One of the owners gave me his personal cell number to call at any hour of the night. Fortunately, we didn't have to call him in the middle of the night, but this is the level of service and commitment in the care they give our furry family members! Adventure Pet is a having a blast! We moved from many acres to a small tract home with little yard. Trek was very depressed until he met Stephanie and Troy! They have made a HUGE difference in Trek's life; he LOVES his outings and he LOVES them. They are very conscientious: after a foot injury (not on their watch) they were careful to report his daily activity tolerance and suggested rests when they thought he wasn't up for it. We have been taking our goldendoodle Gibson to basecamp pretty much since they opened up and have had nothing but great experiences. Gibson loves going to daycare and he has also been boarded there. I like that the dogs are out playing for the majority of the time they are there and not in the kennel when I board him overnight. He always comes home so tired! I also love that they have the option to buy daycare packages to save money and with the packages you can drop off and pick up your dog curbside so you don't have to park and go in if you're in a rush. Never have had an issue booking daycare or boarding last minute. I feel good knowing that my dog is safe when we're at work and on trips and that he isn't locked up in a kennel somewhere! Hands down best boarding/daycare/outdoor excursions dog business in Reno! My German shepherd is needy and has severe separation anxiety but stayed at base camp for a week without issues and seemed sad to leave when I came to pick her up! Their facility is gorgeous and the dog pool perfect! The staff and owners are amazing, responsible, professional, and they really care about your dog! I won't be boarding her anywhere else ever! My dogs have been regularly customers since 2015! I absolutely love these guys. They go out on the adventures with Blake 3x a week now and boy do they get excited when they hear his truck outside. Blake takes excellent care of both of my dogs, and they come back happy and ready for naps! When they can't go out on an Adventure or I am out of town they go to BaseCamp. There are play hours and pools; and the staff is awesome! The girl at the front desk always knows who my dogs are when they come through the door (you think I could remember her name...)! I wish I could give a higher rating than five stars! We recently learned that Adventure Pet had a new boarding facility called Adventure Pet Basecamp. Knowing how awesome the owners and staff of AP are, we were excited about boarding our little girl. A few days into our vacation we received a call that our pooch had a veterinary emergency. Without hesitation the team at AP took her to our vet, kept in constant communication with us and picked her back up and loved on her until we could return. They went above and beyond to ensure our little girl was cared for and to reassure and update us of her status. Gigi is a rescue dog and so we were apprehensive having to board her. I can say with full confidence, that I would absolutely place her at Adventure Pet again. I have four dogs who have been going out with adventure pet for five years. We ALL ADORE ADVENTURE PET! My dogs eagerly await Stephanie's arrival every Thursday. They actually know it's Thursday and wait by the door. If weather does not permit an excursion my dogs literally whine all day. Two of my dogs are shy and usually will not go near others, but STEPHANIE has a magic touch and even my shyest dog will hop into her lap. The dogs come home exhausted but very very happy. This is a FANTASTIC organization! Don't leave your dog cooped up all day while you are at work. It has been wonderful for me and my dog Willow to connect with Adventure Pet. In my old age I cannot give Willow the heavy duty hikes I enjoyed with Sam, Molly, and Barney. Before meeting Troy & Stephanie, I had fired 2 putative off leash dog hikers as either incompetent, unknowledgeable of canine socialization behavior, or unreliable. With Troy, I know Willow is getting the rigorous exercise she needs as a young dog to stay healthy; and, she has a fabulous time chasing critters, gamboling in the snow, playing with other dogs, and running with Troy.
