Our AC was performing poorly. We could hear the compressor working but the temperature in the house kept rising. When we decided we needed to secure the services of a local HVAC company, we remembered the great work Aelott had done at the rental home, we previously owned. They sent David Gilbert. David methodically tested the system - the compressor outside and the air handler in the "very warm - HOT" attic. Upon diagnosing the system issue, he explained the problems in language understandable to unschooled individuals. He relocated the thermal expansion valve, identified a wrongfully wired connecton and replaced a section of the dran piping that was improperly sloped. David was thorough! Very impressed with the service with Aelott. They came out the next day and fixed a problem that has been happening on and off for several years. When the tech -David- explained the problem I immediately knew he knew what he was talking about. Will definitely use them in the future. The only reason not 5 starts is when i asked for a quote prior to work he said "a couple hundred dollars" to me this is somewhere between 2 and 3 hundred. The repair ended up costing over 450, and that is after the 89 dollar service charge was removed. I think that could have been more clear. The technician arrived on a timely manner and wore booties, when asked to do so. He was polite, professional and quick with his repair. The only complaint I had, and I believe it is a big one; when I phoned to request someone come out to check why my heater was not working, I was NEVER informed of the mandatory service call charge (regardless of any repair) of $145.00. The repair took only a few minutes, no parts and I did use a local company to keep travel costs down. A wire was loose and needed to be tightened. I understand there being a cost, but I should have been made aware of the service call fee of $145 prior to them coming out. When I was told the charge, I paid it but called the owner. I expected a discount/refund or even credit for a future tune up of system or something but all I received was a generically presented apology. read more

A REVIEW FROM A 50 YEAR CUSTOMER I have purchased air conditioners and had service from Aelott for 50 years and I'm a satisfied customer. We have a rather long house and have two air conditioners because we occupy one end of the home in the daytime and the other end at night. Our current Carrier air conditioners are 29 years old and one of the units had an electrical malfunction. Doug came out today and replaced the two bad parts and the old wiring. He also checked both units and added a tiny amount of coolant to both units. He checked the electrical cut-off switch boxes and found a loose screw which he tightened. I liked Doug he is an old school repairman who knows his craft and provides honest service. That has been my experience for 50 years. If you use Aelott then ask for Doug to do the service. It will be done right. Aelott is one of those old fashion companies that has been around forever, because they give honest service at a fair price. read more

I contacted this company in January and the guy came diagnostic five minutes to charge me $110 and told me what's the problem he told me that they said it's so expensive I can find it in eBay cheaper so I did I bought it from Amazon after I bought the part and i change it I find out it's not the problem so I had to call the other company and they find the problem something else , so it was not the board control it was the gas valve . The reason I called other company because Aelott they want to come back and charge me again $110+ $500 for that part . read more

After the recommendation of several Canyon View Estate neighbors in Escondido, we called Aelott to repair our AC that was blowing hot air. Joe arrived early on Monday morning, gave us a $100. service call and bill for $300. in Freon with tax $425. He was here about 20 minutes! Said it did not appear to be leaking. One week later - Freon was gone! Called the office and Dorothy was like "tough cookies". Five Stars to Aelott Air Conditioning for their prompt and outstanding service!! Our air conditioner suddenly quit working late on a Friday afternoon. I received a return call from Stephen the next business day (Monday) and was quite pleased when Stephen said he'd have a service technician come by to check out our AC unit that same day. Our service technician, Joe, first checked the filter to see if it needed cleaning, then proceeded to find the source of the problem--one of two fuses on the outdoor equipment had blown. After replacing the fuses, Joe checked the refrigerant level on the unit, then checked to see that the temperature was dropping on an AC vent inside the house. Joe was highly efficient, courteous and honest--a common sentiment expressed by other Yelp reviewers. I won't hesitate to use Aelott Air Conditioning in the future. Way to go guys! read more

After the company I purchased my equipment from and serviced it for years closed, I am jumping from one company to another due the disappointment of customer service. Most companies give you a run down to sale you unnecessary items due commission and requirement by company. So I was very skeptical calling Aelott, I only called Aelott due the yelp reviews and being local. First visit was as usual show up look at it $100, quote $500 - $600, just as we expected, my husband called me and said well until we done we blow a $1000 out of the window, we still decided to go ahead and see if the problem really will be fixed and I decided taking a day off work to see myself. Oh boy let me tell you; with John we have found the company we where looking for years, the service, professionalism, was beyond my expedition. John showed up and was getting right at work very detailed after completing John didn't leave he stayed waited for the unit to fully charge, testing everything if it runs properly and throughout the whole time answered all my questions I had. My bill in total was $600 seeing alll the work John had it was reasonable. The problem is gone John fixed it & Aelott gained a new customer thanks to John! My husband signed a contract to have a new AC unit installed with a 2-week lead time. But after the contract was signed that was changed to 4 weeks. Then, the install date was moved up. I set up my appointment with Dorothy in the office who called me along the way to advise what was going on and when John was showing up.
