It was late in the day because the original company I called was a no-show. Chicago Locksmiths said they could do it and gave me a same day time window. Excellent communication: The technician called me at the start of the time window to tell me he was on another job, but would be there within 2 hours. This allowed me to get on with my day rather than waiting by the window/the phone (as the other company had left me to do all day). The technician then called me when he had finished the previous job and gave me a time frame of when he would get to me. As it was quite late I decided to reschedule for the next day. The same evening Chicago Locksmiths called me to confirm a next day appointment time. On the morning of my appointment the new technician called to say he was on his way with an ETA for arrival and called when he reached me. The communication was excellent and meant I could do other things because I knew Chicago Locksmith was keeping me updated on the status of my appointment. For the appointment itself, the technician was great. Explained everything, gave me advice on one of the doors which was coming loose off the hinge. Decided to lock my garage door for the first time ever when I went out today - and then lost the…read morekey. Brilliant. Thankfully, I found this company on Yelp, and gave him a call. Friendly and professional, he let me know he was working on another site but could be by my house in about 45 minutes. True to his word, he was there just under that. He tried to pick the lock for me, but it was apparently a really solid lock (only time in my life I prayed to hear that something on my house wasn't super secure, go figure). He ended up having to replace it. He was quick, efficient, and was able to use my extra house key to match the lock up so I wouldn't have a different key for the deadbolt. Perfect. Price was reasonable, and totally worth it for how quick he was. I'm pleased enough that he literally just left, and the first thing I did was get on Yelp to leave him a review. Very friendly, nice guy, use him if you need a lock smith!
