As a grown adult with friends who like water sports and going to the beach, not knowing how to swim has always been socially awkward. I was also so nervous when I took my child to the pool that I really didn't enjoy it. I really wanted to learn to swim and group lessons did not work with my schedule. I was able to commit 4 weeks to learning how to swim and took three sets of private lessons during this time. Leslie was super flexible with the time and days of my private lessons. Leslie has a natural gift to teach people how to swim. I was so nervous about putting my face in the water and would get super anxious. Leslie took her time with my breathing while still moving forward with other elements of learning how to swim. While I still have a ways to go to be a strong swimmer, the fact that I can even get in an Olympic pool without a flotation device or flippers and actually move my way through the water...with my face in the water...is pretty awesome. I look forward to continuing occasional lessons so that I can get even better.

He gave the boys high fives, hyped them up but also made sure they understood the instructions. We did two flights for each boy and also a high flight for their first experience. They loved going high but also enjoyed trying to control themselves on the second flight. There were plenty of kid size flight suits - even though there were multiple birthday party events that day. The media package was well worth it and the parents who were not with us especially appreciate the videos of their kiddos. While you could spend a lot here, I suggest finding a deal online if available, knowing if you want high flights ahead of time (set the budget) and consider a return voucher (if cheaper than your package available online). The upside for the owner and shop is that it appears they have so many customers they have zero obligation or motivation to care or fulfill promises. -- I spoke with the owner, Randy Wright, about six advanced courses I planned to complete. Randy said he was just on a call with the Director of SSI Training, who Randy would call back. Randy stated he would get answers to my questions and "call me right back." Five days and counting, no call back. -- Online, a week in advance, I scheduled and paid for an Advanced Wreck course. The day prior to the course I called to inquire if it was only going to be classroom of if we would be in the pool as well. The employee informed me that no instructor was available and the class would not be held. No one was planning to call and warn me before my one-hour drive to the shop and there was no offer of a refund! -- I've experienced the same lack of service is at both the Memphis and Marietta shops -- which seems to reflect the experience I had with the owner. If I blew off clients and did not keep promises, I wouldn't have a business left. So good on The Dive Shop for creating a model where me as a customer is undeserving of promised service. The only one professional in the shop is Lisa Collins so if you have to go to The Dive Shop, see her.

Dirty pool…read more Lifeguards are too busy in their own personal stuff: flirting, talking, on their phones, to not care what's happening in the pool. This is not just a summer job, you're dealing with people's safety I have to stay out of the pool and do their job to watch for the safety of my children - but I wouldn't go in any way anymore, because there is too much unknown stuff floating around, it's disgusting. There is way too much rowdiness - groups of kids on top of each other, kids jumping in at all sides of the pool, that I'm scared that only one of them will get hurt - but especially my own children. There are too many pieces of food around the pool that attract bugs. Most of the plastic chairs are broken.

Megan & Jamela were working behind the counter who gave mom & dad all information they needed for the swim lesson...G-Ma got the info too - smile. The process for pre, during & after lessons was easy, clear & efficient. The pool was well cleaned as with the restrooms, changing & sanitizing stations. The staff rotates in up keeping & resetting all areas of the school. Especially the pool that is sectioned off for different age groups. Jordan, was the swim teacher who took wonderful care of my Grand & another little baby & did such an amazing job simultaneously. Only one parent is allowed in the pool during the lesson. However, there's a huge glass window with plenty of seating to view lessons & cheer on our tots. My Grand was such a natural in the water which made it comfortable to watch. & while you're at ease, help yourself to a complimentary cup of tea or coffee. The entire staff was really welcoming & kid friendly. They worked well together while constantly on the move in assisting, watching, safeguarding & cleaning. I have gone there, requested to put back my makeup classes and no response from them yet. Instead they asked me to take new weekly subscription. Flexibility with classes was one of the main reasons I enrolled my kid there. I am really disappointed with this attitude and would not recommend this school

The front desk staff are always so kind (Coach Imanie and Camille are amazing!!) but we attend for the lesson quality and it has dropped drastically.
