I would recommend and visit again. Needed to see a doctor the day after Christmas and this place was able to accept walk ins and my insurance; tricare. In and out within two hours; which included registration, X-rays, lab work and doctor screening. Doctor was extremely knowledgeable and walked me through my diagnosis and recommended treatments options. The general staff was also very friendly and kind. Update: Donna Jennings was fantastic. I was still having major issues and wanted to speak to the PA that I saw. She called me back before the end of the day and called in a new prescription for me. She cared.... It's so hard to find people that care these days. She was so caring and considerate, she listened to me and explained to me her diagnosis and the treatment plan. read more

Today I stopped by at 345 pm to see a doctor. We saw they were open until 4 with their new holiday hours and no one was in the waiting room. The receptionist at the front desk was clearly not happy when my daughter told her why she was there. The receptionist said well let me go ask. A man came back and said well we have new hours, did you see the sign? He then proceeded to tell us that he had a 2 1/2 hour drive back home, like this was our problem and that they close at 4 pm. If they aren't going to help you between 330-4 pm they should close at 330 pm. We went up Olde Keene Mill and found Inova urgent care which was perfect as their hours are 8-8 pm. My husband had a bad experience when he went to get help and was told there weren't any doctors on duty. He had to leave and find another urgent care. We will not be returning to this urgent care again. read more

What a nice group of folks here! The front office staff, nurses, nurse practitioners, and doctors are A plus! Nothing against Patient First, I just think this is a better place to go. Now you're thinking, "if my arm is falling off, or my head rolls down to my feet, should I go here?" First of all that's a bad day. In that case call 911, go to the ER, consider the taxidermist. I like this medical center for conditioning like today, which would be the less than exemplary influenza virus. It is problematic, but they got my baldness in quickly. A diagnosis was made, as my "check engine light" was on, and a nearby pharmacy is filling the prescriptions. In and out within 20 minutes, and compassionate folks. They also are great with kids. Parking is plentiful. The waiting room is quite comfortable. Is it a luxury box at the Washington Wizards? Nope as I was slightly disappointed this morning that the charcuterie board wasn't there. Seriously visit these folks if you aren't feeling well, or have some bruises. If you play hockey, or have a son who lands a catfish hook in your back, the ER is your friend. Yet here is a quick, convenient place with qualified competent folks. Thank you for another excellent visit, as while the flu isn't a walk in the park, am grateful to know what dealing with and a combat strategy to knock it out! read more

I went to the Old Keene Mill location in Aug of this year. I had new insurance, but didnt have the new card yet but gave them all of the informmtion. They said I had to pay out of pocket and then submit to my insurance for reimbursement. My claim was denied from my insurance because they also submitted the claim to my insurance. I still haven't received my refund. The location tells me to call the billing department and then they send me back to the location. The manager is never there and I have left several messages, but no return calls. Terrible customer service and management. read more

I came in for a COVID and Flu test. They did those, plus strep, plus another test that would tell whether it was viral or bacterial. That way, if it WAS bacterial, I could get on antibiotics without having to "come back if you're still sick in 7 days". The NP was incredibly knowledgeable and shared tips for tell-tale signs that something was viral and what they typical symptoms were for flu this year. I usually avoid Urgent Care places, but this one was good! read more

Have had two negative experiences here. Was given antibiotics instead of paxlovid while in a high risk category with Covid. (This one really baffled my primary care) Today left with four holes in my arm from attempted blood draws (never happened before) and another prescription that doesn't seem to be up to current protocol for my ailment. So, will have to follow up somewhere else I feel I can trust. Upside was very nice people and literally nobody else there. Fool me once, shame on you; Fool me twice...... --------------- UPDATE: Despite a copay and claiming to be in network, I now have a fairly significant bill tagged to me to go along with the poor care. Please use caution if you decide to go here. There are much better options. read more

not sure why they have such low ratings. I came with an allergic reaction to a medication I had been taking. the wait was pretty quick and I saw PA David Cary. He was great. He was quick but thorough, got me the meds that would help and I was in and out within an hour. I would definitely recommend. read more

I had my visit to this place on the late afternoon of 10/15 and I have a couple of positives to say about this place which is the location and when someone was interacting with me, they seemed nice and knew what they were doing. The negative was it felt like I was doing a lot of waiting, it didn't seem like it was that busy when I got there and I understand that I'll need to wait but my whole visit took at least an hour and a half. I went in hoping/thinking that it was a cold but I still wanted to get tested to make sure that it was nothing else. I got the rapid test done for strep, the flu, and COVID which all came back negative. They asked if I wanted to get a culture done and I agreed to that, I was told that I would get only get a call within 2-3 days if something positive came up and if I didn't get a call then I can assume that it's just a viral infection. I didn't receive a call from the office until mid afternoon of the 21st that I had a positive result. I was annoyed that I received a call so late but I assumed that their office was closed over the weekend, they're open over the weekend and I was told that they were so backed up that they couldn't get to me until the time they did. I called back to ask them to send me over the results because I couldn't understand what the doctor said I got tested positive for and I wanted to see when the results came in. GTI (Generic Technological Innovations) did my testing and according to the paperwork: the date collected was 10/15 at 6:35 PM, date received was 10/17, and the date reported was 10/18 at 7:52 PM; I tested positive for a staph infection. Longer story short, I get that people are perfectly imperfect and things get busy. My concern is that I didn't get the fighting chance during the weekend to start taking something, I took my last pill last night but I still feel sickly. I did contact this office back and spoke with Michael who said that he'd reach out to his team about this. Maybe they'll do better once more people get hired but for right now, I'm choosing to avoid giving them my business because of my own experience. read more

Tried to go to this place because of its 4.6 Google stars. My son immediately said he hurt his foot & was asked to sit. He was the only patient. He waited 55 minutes before he was called and they thought he was someone else. Some other patient that was not even in the waiting room. Anyway, finally he saw the doctor and was told that their X-ray machine is broken. The doctor also made it point to tell him that next time, he needs to tell the front desk people ahead of time. Which he said he did. I spoke to the 3 women at front desk and told them of their incompetence and their excuse was that they could give my son a referral to go to another of their branches. Unbelievable! They're a poor excuse of an urgent care. read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. I visited as a walk in a few months back due to feeling ill for a few weeks. I had a brief conversation with the Dr who asked that I give blood for lab work. The medical assistant or nurse who came in to take my blood could not get the blood and seemed to have very little experience drawing blood. After a few attempts and bursting my blood vessel (which has never happened in my life) she asked me to come back at a later date to get the blood work done because she didn't feel she could do it. I left without ever getting blood drawn or having lab work done and no help for my medical issues and with a burst vein. I then get a bill for almost $400 for lab work that I never had done and even if I had, AFC did not code it correctly with my insurance. I've tried to call to rectify but receive no answer. I wish I had never walked into this place. read more

I called to see if they do blood test I needed for a serious genetic issue. The receptionist was kind and helpful (she is the only reason I'm ok with the mandatory 1 star) but as soon as I was called to the back by the nurse I was laughed at and told I don't have anything. Told me I was ridiculous for assuming I have what I came to be tested on. She became frustrated and started raising her voice because I was begging her to just order the blood testing. She asked me if I had a primary care Dr and told me to go there. I asked her again why is she sending to help me. Then she told me she had experience for 27 years in the field but didn't know what I was talking about. I should of walked away when She made fun of me for explaining my symptoms in the beginning. Then she sat me down and began to google my request . This is unacceptable and to be turned away and denied treatment is unacceptable. read more

We just left this urgent waiting to see the doctor for two hours both in the waiting and in the patient room, but could not wait anymore. The test that the nurse came back negative, but my son was feeling really bad, so we left. It would have taken another 30 minutes at least to be able to see the doctor. Please don't call yourself an urgent care, if you cannot do your job in a timely manner. No other urgent care I've been to previously took over 2 hours to be able to be seen by a doctor. I'm getting really tired of medical offices that undermine patients' time, and this place was just that. read more

My son (whom is 9 yrs old) was very sick and needed to be seen. I found AFC Urgent Care online and reserved a time slot for him to be seen. The online booking was user friendly and efficient. When I arrived the receptionist was very efficient and sweet young gal. She had all my information that was completed online and I needed to sign 1 form and pay my co pay. Job well done my dear! The wait time was stellar (didn't wait long at all), the place is clean and organized and the staff all are lovely. It's very hard to find this in todays healthcare. Nurse Tameka (my apology if the name is spelled wrong) was phenomenal. She's an amazing nurse with Superb bedside manners- very sweet, compassionate and truly cares. She listens and takes you seriously. She is amazing with peds patients. I love her! All nurses should be like Nurse Tameka! The health care provider Ana- NP. She also was phenomenal! Her bedside manners were fantastic! She diagnosed and treated my sons illness appropriately. I work in the healthcare field myself and this folks is the dream team here! I highly recommend for folks to come here for care. Keep up the great work ladies and thank you for taking such great care of my son and making him feel better. You are amazing! read more

Unfortunately, in our case, AFC was negligent in handling a simple employer required test by mailing the wrong sample to the lab. After discussing this issue with the manager and staff, the manager concocted a false resolution story to cover themselves, but this action they allegedly took was not confirmed by the screening company which not only delayed the ability to start the new job but also required significant time in setting up a new test appointment at a different location. This was our first time dealing with this location and my conclusion is that the staff there are incompetent and manager is not honest about resolving problems. I will redact this statement if any of what was proposed by the manager is confirmed by the screening company. read more

As far as the place itself, the front desk staff was very nice and helpful. We waited for awhile in the lobby as you often do in these type of settings, then went to the room. Our nurse was very sweet and asked a lot of useful questions. Problem is we waited for over an hour in the room and nobody checked on us. When the NP came in, he asked my daughter questions really really fast and didn't even give her a chance to finish her answers. Then he "fat shamed" her as my daughter would say and made comments about stretch marks and told her she had a moon face. We agree he didn't intentionally meant ill will but his overall bedside manner needs improving. My daughter actually left crying in the parking lot. I feel like there should be more people there to assist the patients etc.... Lastly, we went in there to be tested for a UTI, but ended up being there for 2 hours and my daughter crying. read more

I want to give a shout out and thank you to our neighbors at AFC Urgent Care Burke. They went above and beyond today in helping a family new to the United States navigate school physicals. They took the family right back to a room, were extra patient and worked with the translator to make the experience as comfortable as possible. In and out for three physicals in under an hour, including check in, completing school forms and having to translate everything that was said. read more
