I had a positive experience here during a painful issue I was going through. I had an arm injury that was slowly turning into frozen shoulder. This occurrence spanned over the course of 3 months due to issues with insurance and waiting for the next open enrollment. Dr. Vandana was quick to assess that my shoulder was indeed progressing into a painful frozen shoulder issue due to the small battery of tests she had me do. I could not get any Physical Therapy help during those painful 3 months due to insurance issues so I had to wait until the next open enrollment when I transitioned over to PPO coverage. This all took place a few days before the New Year. Out of the pocket visits to Physical Therapy were expensive ($125-150 per session) and I was not going to pay for that whatsoever so I had to find some alternative temporary remedies to power me through this ordeal. In the meantime, on my visit, Dr. Vandana wrote me a referral letter which was the key missing piece of the puzzle that enabled me to get Physical therapy help on the first week of January. Had I tried to get a referral letter through regular channels and through a regular Physician, I would have waited at least 3 months since I was considered a new patient. I didn't know that an Urgent Care doctor can write you a referral to PT anytime. Nurse Abigail B. did a great job taking my vitals prior to me seeing Dr. Vandana so I have to give her props as well. I was treated with the utmost of respect and my visit was less than 30 min. I'm thankful that we have these Urgent Care centers where we can get immediate help and going through the regular channels I find challenging since I recently found-out that the cause of these issues are due to lack of medical professionals because of shortage of personnel. read more

I had a very disappointing experience at this clinic. I brought my mother in for a prescription refill and wound care, but we were told they could not address two concerns in the same visit. As a result, we were charged $175 for each appointment, along with additional lab fees, which quickly added up. The 2 medications prescribed were extremely expensive--around $2,000 total--even though the doctor was aware that we were paying out of pocket. She initially acknowledged this and said she would switch to more affordable options. However, four days later, my mother ran out of her medication, and the updated prescription had still not been sent to the pharmacy. When I followed up, I was informed that the doctor was no longer able to change the medications. I was also unable to speak directly with the doctor, as the front desk would not allow it. Overall, the lack of communication, follow-through, and consideration for cost made this a very frustrating experience. I would not recommend this clinic based on our experience. read more

This review is mainly about Nurse Practitioner Karen who "treated" me on Feb 3rd. I've had to go to urgent care 2 times recently for flu-like/strep-like symptoms that have been painful and difficult to manage. Both times I've seen a different nurse practitioner. I've had to do multiple throat swabs, a nose swab and a finger prick test. All the nurses and techs have been great. But my tests keep coming back negative despite my on-going symptoms, which is confusing and frustrating. I've just had to ride this out without knowing what it is. I came back because my symptoms progressed and changed. This time I saw a nurse named Karen, who apparently is not a regular staff member at this location. She did not ask me any questions about what my symptoms are now, she simply informed me my tests were negative (which I knew from a phone call earlier that day) and launched into advice for allergies. I thought this was bizarre. When I let her know my symptoms started 8 days ago she was surprised and admitted she missed that detail. I tried to add more context and explain what my symptoms are now, she interrupted me and said she read my paperwork already. But like...did she? I tried to explain I had strep-like symptoms/patches and had a negative instant strep test and she told me, with a weird attitude, that "none of that was documented." (When I got my throat swabbed a couple days ago, the tech confirmed she saw the patches and swelling.) I felt like she was trying to accuse me of making things up or just didn't believe me, or care. She looked at my throat and said I had no white patches back there - which I COMPLETELY DID AND STILL DO TONIGHT. She threw a lot of information at me really quickly, listed a bunch of home remedies I've already been using all week to no avail, then when I asked if there was medicine I should take for my dry cough she impatiently said "yeah, I just said that." I apologized that I am dealing with brain fog and didn't catch that. I don't remember exactly what else she said next but I remember her tone was very condescending. I work with children and when I tried to ask if I was contagious or should be concerned about going back to work, her tone became even more negative and she dismissed any further conversation & didn't give me a real answer, instead told me she wouldn't give me a note to miss work. Which, frankly, I do not need a note if I'm sick and never asked for one. She left the room without checking if I had any further questions, really it felt like an unfinished conversation. I was so confused and upset, when someone came in with discharge paperwork I asked if there was another nurse I could speak to because I still had questions. The manager came to talk to me and she patiently answered the rest of my questions, broke down the treatment options more clearly, and that was that. The manager also told me she wouldn't write me a note to miss work, which again i didn't need & never asked for, so I feel like whatever conversation went on behind the scenes, Karen probably conveyed she thought that's all I was after today and was faking my symptoms. So frustrating because I went to urgent care because I feel like shit, not for any other reason. Overall I still have a positive impression of this location, but fair warning about Karen if and when she has shifts here in the future. She has HORRIBLE bedside manner. My experience with her was rushed, unprofessional, inexplicably tense, and she made me feel like some sort of criminal when I've already been feeling like absolute shit for days on end. I literally ended my interaction with her with tears of frustration due to her communication style, her lack of interest in my symptoms, and my ongoing discomfort that has not improved. She seems like she's either burned out or is in the wrong field. I would HATE to have something more severe going on and need someone to help me and Karen is the only option. Now that I think of it, it seems likely she treated me poorly because she was aware I have OHP insurance. I've definitely encountered dismissive healthcare workers before who went so far as to mention they wanted to be careful how many of my tests used up taxpayer dollars. Perhaps Karen has some preconceived notions about OHP cardholders. If that's the case, that's discrimination. Otherwise I feel like every single other staff member I've interacted with here has been sympathetic, patient, and has really listened to me and been inquisitive. I have appreciated short wait times for appointments and that it seems pretty clean. I write this not to deter anyone from coming here but to warn people about Karen and hopefully ensure someone higher up hears this feedback about her. She needs training. read more

This place might be okay for stitches or broken bone but if you have any kind of long-term problem or anything that might need an MRI or any kind of other tests do not go here. I was there for four appointments one PA told me I had a problem with my achilles tendon another PA told me it was bursitis and then I saw a nurse practitioner twice that gave me no advice. I went to Northwest extremity specialists and got the MRI that I needed and come to find out that I have a tear in my achilles tendon and another one in the plantar fascia. read more

I was having a very worrying set of symptoms, and went to this clinic to get checked out. The receptionists were quick and efficient. The registration process was via my phone and worked perfectly. The physician's assistant who examined me was extremely friendly, professional, and competent. The facility was clean, modern, and attractive. In short, it was an excellent experience, and this will now be my preferred urgent care clinic. read more

These people are shysters! I had an appointment trying to establish an interim PCP given my CT scan results the night prior from Legacy Meridian. They knew this when I arrived, then the fifth degree started. "Didn't you see our text?" We check the text...it's for new patient registration...I've been here before as recent as last March. "We updated our software. You need to reregister. You do want an interim PCP, right?" I let them know is was an Accounting Information Systems Auditor and whenever we bring new software online, we transfer the data. "Oh, we have your data transferred, but we need you to register." This is making zero sense, then the second intake person stated it was really to renew the forms for care. I'm in pain, but by all means, let me bend over backwards jumping through hoops since the both of you are SO BUSY that you can no longer process normal forms. The lobby was dead, there was two of them with attitudes, doing nothing except sitting there slumped in their chairs. We did as they asked. Now, we are asked specifically what we needed. "I need an interim PCP." "Well, none of our PCP's are accepting new patients at any branch. We can see you as an urgent visit. What do you need to be seen for?" I list a couple things..."oh, no, we can only see you for one thing per appointment. It's your insurance's policy." LIARS! We have BCBS PPO. They have no such policy...that's 100% AFC's policy. Despite chest discomfort and cramping, I told them to cancel the appointment. I also stated that with such demeanors, it was no wonder why the lobby was empty while people are scrambling to find healthcare. Also, that they could look forward to losing their jobs because with no patients, the business will fold. They couldn't be honest until they had my updated personal information. As an AISA, that likely means they are going to sell my personal data as an ethical business we have been upfront that what I was seeking wasn't available. Due to the attitudes of these two lazy receptionists, the outright lies and deception, plus the fact that, despite true medical conditions needing a PCP to organize, they told me essentially my health wasn't important, this place needs to be investigated and possibly shut down. I'm filing a complaint with BCBS. They've asked me to report medical facilities like this as they are getting a lot of complaints about the Portland medical community. I'm also filing a complaint with Salem about them defrauding me for personal information knowing all the while that what I was seeking they had ZERO intentions of providing. They also keep your credit card on file and automatically charge anything they want after the fact. That happened earlier this year and I still have that text. It'll be in both my complaints to Salem and BCBS too. TL;DR: These people are frauds and liars and need to be avoided at all costs! read more

I went to them for some tests we needed to get done in short order for my family. They were good about picking up the phone so I picked them out of the options I was looking at. The facility is bigger than it may look when you enter, is clean, and the people at the front desk are nice. We felt that Dr. Rana and staff were on our side and went the extra mile so we could get our tests done in the time window we needed them done. We had a positive experience here. read more

Note: this is for the Tigard Location on Hwy 99 near Costco: No wait on an early Sunday am -- friendly professional staff, efficient pain med treatment for a fall / back injury. Nice clean facility with ample parking. Things I wished for but didn't think to ask for: * physical exam, but only received a few questions * things to look out for of concern * what to do / where to go, if so I did get the appropriate pain meds and instructions, with the instruction to come back in a week if not better. A quick start on rehab is important to speedy and full recovery. I found a PT provider and a backup orthopedist on my own, but it was not suggested by the physician or nurse. A bit more guidance would have been helpful and wouldn't have taken a lot of time. But the atmosphere and providers got it all right otherwise. I would return. It's shocking the sorry state of our Urgent Care options during COVID. Most close by 5 or 7 PM, some until 9. I was grateful for an early Sunday appointment when I could not find a PM option on Saturday. I've used the Allen Blvd Beaverton and NW Burnside / Nob Hill locations of AFC for other minor issues and was very pleased. read more

This place is unprofessional, unorganized & displays very poor communication in all areas. Firstly, I was not asked about any symptoms that I am having. So, they were unaware that I have been having cold/flu symptoms in addition to what I was being seen for. Secondly, I could hear co workers talking about how they would absolutely not be seeing a patient due to him being later than he mentioned he would. Regardless of a patient being late & the office not having enough time to see him, I find it very unprofessional to stand around and gossip about him and complain about him. Just make the call that he cannot be seen today and move on. That way, you'll get to the patients rooms quicker that are waiting to be seen. I waited for 66 minutes to be seen. We had a great experience at AFC Urgent care, Tigard. Our family of four went in for the immigration physicals. Tiffany was amazing with helping, guiding thru the process and scheduling. She went out of her to meet our scheduling needs and support. The entire process was as shared by Tiffany. She helped us with the paperwork, vaccination needs and records and finally accommodating last minute changes. She helped save us at least a week's time due to last minute request before the Thanksgiving. Dr. Rana was very kind, did give us time to ask questions and provided insights. But with covid, if I want any care outside of Covid testing, I will need to seek new a medical home base elsewhere. Every time I come here there's new despondent staff.. just has become low quality care. Nonsensical trips into the wait room full of coughing people when it used to be a phone call (a prescription refill for an ongoing issue) to charge insurance I'm sure. I had to get a test for COVID-19 for work and decided to go to the AFC in Lake Oswego. I had been waiting in my car for about an hour and a half when I still hadn't been called in. When I called to see what was going on, I spoke to Konstantin, who was incredibly friendly. Upon learning how long I had been waiting, he made sure that I was the next person on the list to be helped. After getting my test done I went back to my car and realized that my battery had died - Konstantin also was able to help me out with jump starting my car! The staff at this location were so helpful and friendly, I cannot thank Konstantin enough for his kindness and understanding in an already stressful situation. read more

I DON'T RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AND PPL THERE ARE RUDE!!! I wish I could have left 0 stars. I've received the worst service from this urgent care. The front desk, staff are rude, and Dr. Sue Lewis is an absolute racist to my ethnicity and provided very poor service. I felt very uncomfortable and mistreated during the whole visit. I saw Dr. Sue Lewis in the exam room and the examination only lasted for around 1 minute. During the examination, Dr. Lewis consistently displayed inappropriate racist yet discriminatory behavior such as interrogating where I was from, where I worked, and other personal information. Upon knowing that I was an immigrant, she proceeded to say, "You're from a communist country, how can you come to the USA? It must be really hard to come here since you're from a communist country. You must want to stay in the USA so bad huh? She stated all this while staring at me with hatred in her eyes. She made me feel uncomfortable throughout my entire visit and displayed absolutely unprofessional behavior and poor service. I was too stunned and scared to say anything at the time, so I just sat there quietly since I wanted to complete the exam and leave as soon as possible. Not only did the doctor alienated me but she also made me feel like an unwanted member of this community. After her visit, she left me in the secluded room to go fill out paperwork outside. Without further instructions, I waited in the room for an additional 20 to 30 minutes before a nurse came and fetched me to wait outside in the waiting area. I am writing this in detail because I want to prevent any future incidence like this from happening. I feel t it is important that I speak up. Because often, incidence like these go underreported, especially within the Asian community. I hope that doing this is a step in the right direction and that changes can be made to avoid a future incident like this. read more

I promise I'm not one to write bad reviews for the sake of it but this truly was probably the most unprofessional medical experience I've had. I'm writing this after a recent visit to AFC urgent care Lake Oswego. The front desk receptionist was not wearing a mask (she had it pulled down off her face) when I entered, although fixed it shortly after. She was just extremely rude overall... I also received a text message while in the waiting room saying that my telemedicine appointment was ready to begin despite being told that the doctor wanted to see me in-person in the clinic. When I asked what this was about and if I'd be seen virtually (which would've been alright-just confusing) they were extremely rude when explaining it was just an automated message (which also seemed strange.) Then, when meeting with the doctor, she spent as little time as possible with me, barely had any conversation with me and after a quick exam, started wiping down the sink and rearranging the paper towels in the trash, which honestly just shocked me. She had a very strange bedside manner and hadn't read my test results (which were available) prior to coming in, which meant she had to keep coming and going from the room. The doctor also did not confirm if I had any allergies to the antibiotic I was being prescribed. Luckily I don't but, geez, as a non-clinician married to a RN, I know you have to ask that!! (And no, it wasn't noted in any registration materials.) If you look below, there was also another instance of this happening at this location several years ago, which I find very concerning. We will not be returning there again and I'd prefer not to be contacted by the business manager, as it looks is their standard practice. Urgent care clinics should be managed as professional medical practices and professionalism isn't something that can be negotiated in this type of setting. read more

The biggest waste of time and money. It is a gimmick tto charge insurance without properly providing proper care. I came in for a right hip issue. I did not see me more than a minute before he was out the door with no true evaluation. She told me that she was not sure of the evaluation and it could be one of two things and would know better after an X-ray. She left the room after she told me she was arranging the X-ray. I Was told the doctor would come back and talk to me. She never did. She then sends in a piece of paper with a diagnosis that she said she could not determine without a X-ray. She also never asked me about the pain. She didn't care about my comfort or the driving force behind me paying urgent care prices for treatment.. Dr Lewis was not interested in providing care. She was interested in getting me out the door with the least amount of interaction and The highest amount of insurance card as possible. I will be complaining about this to my insurance company and trying to prevent them from claiming a lot of work they didn't do. Update... today I received my summary. They listed me as Hispanic/Latino. I am red headed, pale skinned and definitely never said I was either. They didn't even care enough to do the paperwork correctly. read more

Hello, The purpose of my visit here was to accompany a patient as his Interpreter. My first impression was how spacious and clean the office was. That's so important, I trust that exam rooms are safe and clean. The staff at the front were courteous and attentive. Then we were called to the exam area, the Medical Assistant was respectful, and kind. Sometimes patients are anxious, but she knew how to communicate in a non threatening manner. When the Doctor entered the room, she introduced herself. She had read the patient info before seeing him. She got to point and was informative. The patient really respected her efficient manner. possibly the worst experience I had at an urgent care / doctor's office. writing this after receiving "care" and felt like I was "lying" about symptoms to the doctor when I'm just an anxious person who hasn't been to a doctor in awhile. While the nursing staff was 100% nice and welcoming, the doctor, Steven, made me feel like I was lying about my symptoms and how strange all my symptoms while giving me very obvious medical advice like "taking allergy meds" to make relieve my symptoms. I asked for a doctor's note twice, once for the first visit and second time, I was told this was the last time they could give me a doctor's note unless my symptoms were "severe" and here I am sitting with a inhaler prescription because I have had difficulty breathing on and off this week. Be better. I have a minimum wage job that has me talking to dozens of people every day and I have not been able to due to this viral infection. We could have tested for this my first visit too, but another copay later and I felt like I was wasting my time. Stop assuming. Never coming here again. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. I have never encountered such unprofessional behavior by anyone in healthcare. Not only did the nurse forcefully shove the nasal swab up my 5yr old granddaughters nose until she was crying and screaming. When I asked the nurse to be kinder he yelled at me. My son in law ended up with a sinus infection on the first day of our vacation. The nurse then made a sexual joke about my daughter,( in front of our whole family), while he had the swab in her nose holding her hostage as he sexually harassed her. I hope this saves someone else from the pain and suffering we received from this establishment due to their lack of ability to hire professional nurses. read more

So I did the person on the phone said " their was no reason to have a over the phone appointment because they couldn't prescribe anything over the phone. I thanked him and canceled the appointment. Hear is the problem I then got another call asking why I canceled my appointment. I told the person why, she said the other person was incorrect that I should keep my appointment. ( I am in my home sick as I have ever been trying to get help) I told the person I don't want to pay lots of money for nothing if they can't help me! I was convinced to keep the appointment. I'd like to also mention. We had a Colombian Guest for the holidays. He caught a bug on his flight. I called AFC Lake Oswego and they were very helpful. Set his appointment, dealt with his issues and caught him before pneumonia could set in. He started on his medicine and started feeling much better in one day. Website indicated I had to do a "telemedicine visit" in order to get a covid test. When I arrived, they told me I didn't need that, could just schedule the test. Note that I said "arrived" for a telemedicine visit. They don't do telemedicine, you have to sit in the parking lot and wait for someone to come outside. So, if you schedule a "telemedicine" visit, make sure you understand that you will have to commute to and from the location (i.e., don't schedule meetings around your appointment time, it won't work). Upon going to my telemedicine visit, they told me that I had to schedule my covid test for Monday to ensure I have results for my flight on Wednesday. Dr. Rana was present when the nurse told me this and offered no challenge to this. When I went for the test today, she said, "oh, I don't think the results will be here in time." The practitioner who performed the test was unnecessarily rough - the test was quite painful. I have been covid tested before. I know they are uncomfortable. However, there is no need for pain. She insisted on holding the swab in each nostril for 5 seconds. I don't believe that this is humane practice. This lack of humane care is precisely what I expect from AFC - it's not my first unpleasant experience here. It will be my last. read more

First issue was about conflicting information I received from AFC Hillsboro vs AFC Tigard - turns out that both AFCs are not in proper sync to provide patient with accurate information. A second issue was that I called AFC Tigard about an issue with my vaccination data and spoke with an extremely rude nurse that ended up hanging up the call on me. Please avoid this place as much as you can. There are other better places out there that provide care and respect to their patients. read more

Very rude! They don't give you a receipt and they won't bill your ins. They ignore you when you're asking them a question. They give you your result for the Covid test, then walk away without answering your question. Rude is rude & has nothing to do with Covid backlog. read more
