The party was Thursday, and I inquired about them on Monday of the same week. They were able to get a quote back to me pretty quickly, which I thought "Great, this is going to go smoothly", famous last words. The one thing that really put me off was that once you receive the quote, you have to call the company and get everything scheduled. There isn't any sort of accept button, or complete your order button, I feel like with the technology that we have now a days you should be able to complete an order without having to speak with anyone... but that's just me, I hate talking on the phone. Anyways, I call the number, chat with a guy and he ask's me to send over a picture of my drivers license, so I text that over to him, he says he will create a brand new account for me based off my drivers license. We confirm that drop off will be Thursday @ 3pm and pick up will be Friday @ 9am. I ask him if he's ready for my CC information and he says that he doesn't have the phone that I texted my ID to and he will have to look at that later and create the account, and once the delivery guys are on the way to the destination with the heaters, he will call me and get the CC information for me to pay. okayyyy... that is strange... but okay, whatever. It's Thursday, Day of the party. It's 2:50pm, I text my boss (whose house we are having this party at) and ask him if the heater guys have shown up yet, he says no and I haven't heard from this guy who was supposed to call me so I can pay for the heaters either. I decide to call him myself and lo and behold... The guy who helped me on Monday, never created the account, the guys were not going to be there at their scheduled time (because I'm pretty sure the guy who helped me totally forgot about everything we talked about) and he needed 20 minutes so that he could create the account. Now mind you, I am having to get ready for this party that starts at 6:30, but it's an hour away, so this extra 20 minutes is cutting into my getting ready time... and not to mention, this should have been taken care of long before Thursday afternoon. The heaters finally arrive at 4pm, the guy just drops them off at the front of the drive way, my boss comes out and ask's him to help him take them to the back yard, and the driver says that's not his job. okay cool, that's not your job... well it's not ours either buddy! Once we get the heaters into the backyard, one of the propane tanks is totally empty, and luckily my boss had an extra propane tank to use. I will say, the heaters were great, and they worked perfectly. Next day these heaters are supposed to be picked up @ 9am... guys don't even arrive until 1pm. So, to sum it up, these guys do not stick to your schedule, so be prepared for that. And maybe be prepared for them to forget altogether. Would definitely not use again.

My 1997 house was built out of limestone and paper. Well, not really paper, but the siding and trim…read moreare a product called Masonite which has a paper pulp component that does not hold up well in humid weather. A couple of years ago, I replaced the siding on the back of the house and chimney with Hardie siding, but I did not spend the extra money to replace the soffits, fascia and trim around the roof, because that would have cost more than all the other siding combined. It turns out, squirrels like to eat paper, eh, I mean Masonite siding when they can reach it. So there are chew marks on the Masonite trim near the roof where they can perch on the gutters or roof line itself to reach it. At this point, I have gutters up and really do not want to go through the hassle of removing just those boards. I needed some metal flashing the width of the trim and bent at a 90 degree angle so it would also cover the narrow side. Home depot does not carry anything like that and if you have ever tried working with the flashing they have, once you try to bend it (without the proper tools), it starts to look like a crumpled beer can. There was a place in South Austin that did metal work, but when my handy man called them, they would not do small jobs. I Googled "buy custom metal flashing in Austin" and Montopolis supply came up. I called them, explained what I needed. They could form the flashing and custom cut the pieces to the length I needed. They also had a primed metal that would be ready to paint once attached to the house. I also needed an angle trimmed off each one - but had a template I could bring them when I picked it up. They assured me they could handle that for an additional charge. I pre-paid for my order over the phone (minus the custom cuts I would pay for later). They said it would take 24 hours. A few days later - I made my way out there on a Saturday morning to pick up my order. The office is pretty kitschy with lots of religious signs and bibles for sale. The staff was friendly and helpful. Kenneth brought my order to me and took my template to provide the additional cuts I would need. He made those cuts right in front of me. I paid for the extra cutting ($2.50 per cut). He also showed me which screws would be best for attaching to the house and you can buy those by weight (as little or as much as you need). I left with my newly cut metal flashing and a small bag of screws. Next week, I plan on having them installed on the house so the next time a squirrel tries to chew my house, they may need a trip to the dentist.

Apparently he couldn't be bothered to read two whole sentences of email and only read the one half of the word "hardie" and I was supposed to understand that he had disregarded the rest of it. Listen: Maybe if you are a builder or something that is going to buy 2000 board feet they will give you the time of day. But even then I wouldn't want to support their dishonesty. I unfortunately did not read the reviews in detail before deciding to hire Levi and Finn Wood Flooring. I could write a book about the awful communication, but let's just say that this company has no customer service orientation--Levi actually told me I was "ridiculous" to express concern about the job. His guys were really nice but they did not cover any of the cabinets in the kitchen or pantry as Levi assured me they would. He scheduled a much bigger (more important) job over mine and delayed starting mine knowing we had already moved out. I ended up with a floor in a color I do not like, with big white spots from the sanding everywhere. He would not even come look at the floor though I asked him to. We never saw him after the initial sales call. Overall not a good experience at all. I would give one star but I liked the guys he has working for him.

We get past all that, he finally gives me a quote and says it will be here in 3-12 weeks. Really..what kind of range is that?! I waited every bit of 12 weeks. I HAD TO CALL EVERY WEEK TO FIND OUT IF IT WAS ON THE WAY. The last call was "oh yeah, we've had that for several weeks"..Once I go to pick it up I find it to be on a pile. 20% broken, no packaging or boxes..just a pile. What the heck am I supposed to do with that. One by one I had to load hundreds of bricks into my truck and off of it. Because of all the broken pieces, I came up short. Guess what, another 10 weeks for 70 more bricks! 20% of those are broken. AND they tried to charge me for them. During all this I was transferred to several different reps that didn't have my order number. Half of those reps no longer working there. My best advice..scrap everything you do MPI. Scrap it all. Re-hire and re-train. Incorporate software that actually talks to each other. Just start over. Thank God I hired a great contractor to do the work because at the end of the day my brick wall looks dope. I'd spend double the amount to go somewhere that has their stuff together. End Rant.
