I did my part to research information online which included Google, Yelp and other reviews. My Mom has Medicare, so I even researched the Medicare website for their ratings. (www.medicare.gov) I even drove past and walked around my top three choices. All seemed to have a so-so feel to them. [This was all new to me so I didn't know what to expect.] I chose a facility in Hillsboro which received the most 5-star ratings on the Medicare website. After visiting my Mom a few times and interacting with the staff, my wife and I did not get a good feel for the facility at all. It was very dark and gloomy. The staff I interacted with were all very pleasant, however I was not comfortable with their processes. After two or three days, I started to ask friends and coworkers to see if anyone had information on other facilities. Luckily, a coworker's wife works with skilled nursing facilities and gave me a couple options. I chose Maryville since it is located between my home and work. Upon visiting, the look and feel was the complete opposite of what we were experiencing. I spoke to Kalie Alonzo, the Admissions Director to get information. (I must add, it was after I had finished work and Kalie was getting ready to leave for the day. She made the time to speak to me without making me feel rushed.) After providing Maryville with my Mom's information, we were able to transfer her a couple days later. Everyone we interacted with was professional, courteous, caring, and knowledgeable about their duties. I was kept informed about my Mom's progress on a weekly basis. My Mom experienced an unrelated health issue (ulcer) where she needed to be taken to Emergency. After returning to Maryville, the staff picked up right where they left off. Mom was released about six weeks after her fall. Maryville continues to be involved with her after care, care. I haven't heard of many folks in their 90's recovering from broken hips/pelvic fractures. I honestly feel my Mom received THE BEST care available and is back at home all because of the hard work and efforts of the staff at Maryville.

In just three visits, she helped resolve my shoulder pain. I was lucky to be her last patient covered by Providence insurance, although there was a small billing issue since they stopped accepting it. Bailey helped me work with the billing office to solve the problem. I also appreciate that the staff are all very nice and offer various schedules, including early morning appointments, which allowed me to visit before going to work.
