They didn't even bother to call and ask if we would be willing to pay for it out of pocket. We absolutely would have, it was $100 for my dad's last greatest fear of pain at the end. So they decided on their own that his comfort in passing was not worth $100. This should be criminal. And I know none of their actual caregivers would have chosen that decision in a million years. Going through New Horizons takes away the bookkeeping burden of hiring an independent worker.
