I was at their 88th Street location ten minutes later and was able to drive away with a nice car. The employees I spoke to on the phone and in person were all nice, professional and a pleasure to deal with. Returning the car was a breeze as well. This will be my go-to car rental place going forward.

Hand wrote '100% refundable if not happy' and insisted I needed to make a deposit to continue negotiations. Continued negotiation next day, and even asked to run a credit check first which I reluctantly agreed to, but negotiation came to a standstill. They claimed they couldn't refund on weekends. Came back Tuesday, then said they couldn't refund and has to wait next day. When asked why, scumbag said 'just can't.' Disputed with manager and then said no refunds before 30 days from deposits by check or cash. I said this was a credit card. I asked why they had excuse after excuse. Manager replied 'we can make 60 days. Or make it 90 days' sarcastically. Then rudely and repetitively kept talking over me off by saying 'goodbye' and 'go' while I was talking. Ended up getting the refund from my credit card company. Found out weeks later, my identity was used to open new store credit cards. Had to spend alot of time to clean up my identity theft. ABSOLUTE SCUMBAG SCAM ARTIST CRIMINALS. AVOID AT ALL COSTS.

But in a time of pandemic, if you're literally looking for a car rental in walking distance of Kensington/Windsor terrace, I'd recommend this one. Call to make a booking, or you can try just showing up on the day. Summer hours are they're only open Monday through Friday, and they close early on Fridays. I don't know how changeable their rates are, but we took a car for a week for $450 (total, including tax etc). That's about what we'd have paid at empire over in crown heights, but again, the location was really important for us with covid. If your credit card doesn't cover collision insurance, that's an extra $10 per day. The cars are not new, they have mileage and wear and tear, but they work. We felt confident that they were seriously cleaning between customers. Everyone is masked. Nice people. You don't have to go inside to do paperwork, just hand your card and license through the door and they'll hand you back the receipt to sign. Bring your own ez pass if you'll be driving anywhere with tolls.

There was no windshield wiper fluid so when it rained we were unable to clean the windshield leaving us in a dangerous situation as we were unable to see very clearly. You can find a better deal and a brand new car at another reputable car service. Don't waste your time.
