After taking our lifted Jeep to a certain alignment chain, then taking it back, then taking it back, then taking it back again before they scratched their head and said "bring it back when you find someone to fix it and we'll re-warranty the part," we took it to Jim at Affordable. He took one look, knew what was wrong (i.e. the part they told us we needed and installed), explained why, ordered us the right one, and got it fixed. Where the other shop couldn't even get us across the valley without the dreaded Death Wobble coming back, we just drove 2000 miles back to Chicago with no problem. He had given us input on the next couple things we'd need to keep it driving smoothly, which the other place never mentioned in the repairs they were telling us we needed... I would never use them but my boss keeps using them after repeat fails. The first time we used them we took the truck in for a brake job and they left the oil cap off the truck so when I got to my job site there was oil all over the concrete and my engine was smoking !! Yes the oil cap on a brake job ?? Second time they said we needed a radiator and replaced it and again I got to my job site and water was leaking so I took it back and turned out some hoses needed to be replaced after they replaced the radiator already !! This last time water was leaking from the head gasket causing over heating so I took it in and couple days later got the truck back. Again got to my job site and water was still leaking and truck over heating. Instead of taking it back I simply bought some liquid stop leak and guess what ?? The leak was fixed for $22 Like I said I would never use them for my personal use but my boss keeps using them !! There garage looks like an episode of hoarders buried alive!! My air conditioning system blew warm air and I had already taken to two other shops for repairs with no luck. I personally wouldn't use them to fix anything, my boss uses them for our trucks, therefore I use them. They have the worst customer service.. backyard mechanics, don't even know how they got into a shop to begin with. Left the oil cap off my Co works truck made a huge mess. Never have the tools or parts to do the job on site. Always takes them way longer to do the job then it should. Not sure if they watch YouTube videos to do the job. Jim talks to you like you're some type of idiot. They don't even deserve the one star that is mandatory to be given!! read more

DO NOT!!!! Take your care here. I took my truck in for an oil leak and a rear main seal leaking. I had to take my truck back 4 times as it was still leaking. The owner Jim originally gave me an estimate of $400- $600 and when I picked up the truck the first time. The bill was $981.00. This guy is a joke. He even had my truck for 2 weeks and never would call and update me on the status. Even after 4 times going back for the same oil leak problem, it still wasn't fixed. What a waste of $450. I took my friend's car to Affordable Automotive because it began to stall out. The mechanic informed me I needed a tune up. After I left it appeared fixed. Then a day and a half later it stalled again while I was crossing a freeway. I called them no answer. When I eventually did talk to a mechanic he said they did nothing wrong. Really? A couple of days later I had to be towed. I had another mechanic look at it and he said the head gasket blown and they should have seen that issue to begin with and fixed the initial problem. With the cost of the tow, a lyft, a rental car & more I am considering taking them to small claims court. I believe they did an initial poor job which was not even the reason for my stalling. My original complaint. Also, being a disabled woman I rely on this car. Do not go to these men, especially if you are a woman who does not know that much about car engine. My other complaint is they do not wear there masks during this pandemic. read more
