Needed a trailer rim repaired during a trip to desert. They said they could take care of it right away, but, on closer inspection, saw that the rim was cracked. Told us that it would be fixable but probably do the same thing a few miles away. They were kind enough to take the rim off so we're didn't have to carry the extra weight. I took my 2019 Infinity Q70L to Desert Wheel Repair on 03/06/2023. The wheels had moderate road rash and Desert Wheel Repair said they could refurbish the wheels. Unfortunately, when they completed the job the color was silver, not hyper black which was the color of my wheels when I dropped it off. The owner was out of the United States on vacation so the issue was not resolved for a few weeks. The first day the owner "Jennifer" retuned to work from her vacation, she immediately took care of the issue and offered to refurbish the wheels back to the original color. Was driving on Indian passing North PS going towards DHS due to construction they had tore up the streets & left several cut outs to the asphalt towards shoulders of roads I don't know why maybe electrical work due to high winds the traffic cones & signs had fell over I had to swerve to miss a toppled sign nicked the edge of a cut out & bent my rim horribly! Burst my tire tread etc found that this is about the only west valley repair for rims & was quoted a extremely high offer but happily paid to get the service the staff was nice & attentive & helpful got my rim fixed 99% perfect amazing job & would like to leave review & photos to help the business...peace read more

We moved to Rancho Mirage in December 2021. I have been driving to LA last few months once or twice a week to take one of my family members to the chemotherapy. I had a slow leak on the front tire, took it to the tire shop and they said I had a cracked wheel. On Monday I called Desert Wheel Repair and Jennifer said they were fully booked till Friday. I try to explain my situation to Jennifer and she took a few seconds and said to me "let me talk to the owner" because all technicians are fully booked after a few min come back on the line and said to me "bring your car now and the owner will do it himself". WOW Got there in 15 min and the owner Jeff was right away coming with a jack and started taking the tire off the car, putting on a spare tire for me while I was watching (on top of all I threw my back out a few days earlier) and couldn't help Jeff. Went home and got a call after 2 hours wheel is fixed and ready. Went back and again owner Jeff comes out with a jack and put a tire back on my car. What a service and what a great people. I offered to pay extra for their exceptional service but they wouldn't take extra charge. We need more kind and understanding people like Jennifer and Jeff in this world. Good honest people. COME HERE TO GET YOUR CURB RASH FIXED! Don't go anywhere else !! Quick service on curb rash repair!!!!! I called shortly after they closed after finding them on yelp after I had a very bad curb rash and I mean baaaad. I just wanted to see if I could catch someone for a quote but wasn't really expecting them to answer since they had just closed maybe 10 mins earlier. To my surprise Rachel answered the phone !! Rachel Was Awesome In Answering All my Questions. She asked me to send her a picture of my wheel to make sure that she can give me an accurate quote on Wether it needed paint or polish, I sent her a pic and she gave me a very reasonable price quote. She set me up to come in at 9am the next day. Upon arrival I was greeted by an employee I can't remember the name of. He checked me in and went to get Jose who was the technician who fixed my wheel. Jose was awesome he was very honest with me and told me about how the polish in house by may not match the factory polish on my new black Honda rims. I asked what other options where there. There were 2 , one I could have all the wheels painted gloss black which would have been really nice to ditch the factory polish two tone look. And the other was if I would like they can send it out to the factory for a little more money but I chose the cheaper route because funds and I didn't want to wait the day or two to send it out to the factory. Also THEY DID IT IN LESS THAN 2 hours !!! I'm happy with what I chose because it looks 100x better than it did and saved me the cost of 2 new wheels I think the sport touring rims range around $400 a pop so that's nearly $1000 I would have had to spend for new rims. Took our BMW 650I to have 4 wheels repainted. Was quoted $140 per wheel or $560 total. 2 days later we were informed that 2 wheels were bent and add'l cost would be $100/wheel or $200 total for straightening. Now our total cost is $760. During the repair process, we called to check status and was told wheels were out at vendor for straightening. Still need a few more days. Got a call back later that day saying car was ready for pick up. Weird! We were not given a written estimate at time of drop off. This would have eliminated any dispute. When it came time to pay, they said we owed $1200.00. Jennifer was very rude, unprofessional and argumentative and accused us of lying. Jennifer threatened not to give us the vehicle. We told her we'd be happy to pay the $760.00 she reluctantly agreed but said never to return. DO NOT USE ...they DO NOT honor their own guarantee (see photos). While my rim repair looks good, this place is incompetent and not reputable. The day after I picked the car up, my tire pressure warning light went on. So I thought maybe they didn't inflate it after repair. So I inflated to 38psi. A week later my tire pressure warning light goes on again. Pressure is at 28psi. So I figure they didn't adhere the tire or seal the rim properly. They don't believe that the process of removing tire and fixing the rim could have caused this. Please see below conversation with Desert Wheel Repair. They want to charge me to fix the rim leak they caused by careless work..rendering their own Guarantee on their website a HUGE lie. Irresponsible, incompetent and classless. I was introduced to Desert Wheel Repair a few years ago when I first moved to Palm Springs. I had moved to PS from San Diego, just days after some very rude person had keyed my Infiniti Coupe from front to back. First order of business was finding a body shop to clean that up. The owner of the body shop saw my the rims of my wheels and said, you know I have a place that can fix those up for you. Confession: I'm a terrible parallel parker -- and worse, the wheel rim sticks out further than the rubber of the tire, so if (meaning when) I rub up against the curb while parking, the rim scrapes, rather than the tire rubbing. Over time they look worse and worse. My auto-body guy took me over to Desert Wheel Repair where he introduced me to owner Jeff and his wife Jennifer who manages the office. I'm not sure if I got a special "friend of Carl" rate, but it was much cheaper than I expected to have all four wheels cleaned up and looking like new, in less than a day. Of course, scraped them up again, and decided I would just go in every 9 or 12 months and get a "pedicure" for my car, keeping it looking good. Jeff's staff was fast, friendly, and efficient -- and Jeff seems like quite an expert. Jennifer kept things running smoothly with scheduling and keeping me informed of progress. A year ago I also bought tires online from Tire Rack. Desert Wheel Repair was one of the places listed that would install the new tires, so of course I took them to Jeff. All around a great experience, and an inexpensive way to keep your wheels looking great. Although the next car I get is going to have recessed wheels so that the tires hit the curb first when I'm executing my bad parallel parking job. read more
