Affordable was recommended by another auto service some years ago, I've been going to them ever since. The staff is cordial, polite and extremely knowledgeable about automobile maintenance. The prices are fair, and quotes are given before any repairs are done; Chief mechanic and owner, Bill, explains clearly and concisely about any cost which may be incurred and what the cost may be, he has even made suggestions he didn't have to about a vintage auto of mines, saving me a fortune in auto repairs. While other auto shops want you to leave your vehicle no matter what, Affordable Auto will do the work while you wait "if possible." I don't/won't trust my car with any repair service as some are crooked and make up repairs to pad their pockets, but I trust Affordable implicitly and will continue having my car serviced by this great family-owned business. read more

I took my car to get inspected, dropped it off for early bird service. When I dropped it off my S/O noticed mu break light out. Ok no big deal. They are inspecting the car so they will call that out to be fixed. They didn't. I took my car for an oil change 5 days later and i was informed my break light is out AND my rear struts are leaking which should have FAILED inspection! They just slapped a sticker on my car and sent me on my way. This is a SAFETY inspection! Not a "oh I just want a pretty new sticker" inspection! read more

She is also extremely knowledgeable and is a good listener. Most auto places want to tell you what you need before you even tell them what the problem is(you know the type) well not here. Horrible car repair shop -- incredibly overpriced. Last year my car broke down near Richmond airport so we brought it to the closest shop and by the name we thought it wouldn't be too expensive. Charges came out to over $800!!!!!! They also kept my second key and said they mailed it (which I paid for) yet the key was not in the envelope. DO NOT GO HERE!!!! Scummy business. read more

I take my vehicles here time after time and I recommend you do the same. The location isn't convenient for me personally, but I go anyway because of the fair prices in repairing said vehicles and the friendliness of the staff. Bill, Sue, and their children that work as mechanics there have always treated me like a friend and not just a customer. I recall taking my older vehicle there after work once for a quick inspection before a trip. I have some physical limitations that hinder me and Bill helped me on the spot free of charge. The vehicle was a little short on oil and he provided some oil for me without charging me for that either. That is just the kind of person he is. Affordable Auto is also honest. I know next to nothing when it comes to automobiles. More than once, the chains garages will tell me I need this and I need that, when I really don't. I then took my car to Affordable Auto and am advised that part or repair isn't really needed. If they wanted, they could take me to the cleaners because I wouldn't know any better, but they don't. I'm certain I have saved $1,000 or more thanks to Affordable Auto. Buyer beware of those chains. An acquaintance and former employee of one of said chains informed me he was reprimanded for not making unnecessary suggestions to customers regarding their vehicle repairs. The waiting area is nicer than most garages I've been to. Couches are comfortable and television is offered. If you don't care for what's on, Sue will change the channel for you. They even have a vending machine and water fountain. When taking my car in on a Saturday morning, which is very convenient for me considering my work schedule, I took them all breakfast once. Unheard of, right? I think that much of the family. You will, too. In addition to all they they already do, recommendations for other services can also be made. For example, I've lost all my spare car keys and Sue was able to tell me of a guy to go to for that. Affordable Auto is just incredible. I found Affordable Auto through the recommendation of a friend and I want to make them known to everyone I can since that friend helped me. You won't be disappointed. read more

These guys are awesome and have been taken care of me for at least 4 years now. They are kind, helpful and fair. They are one of the few repair shops I've been too that I felt were totally honest and fairly priced. Sue is great, knowledgeable, communicative and makes you feel at home. Bill is the head mechanic, and is accessible and will talk to you and I have never had any problems with his work. I don't know the other mechanics names, but I've never known anything other than friendliness and helpfulness and quality work. They always remember my name and the idiosyncrasies of my car. Sue has even given me a ride to work from the shop when I could not get one. You don't get service like this anymore. read more

Basically the only good thing about this establishment is that they scheduled me very quickly for an inspection. But they said I needed an engine mount to pass inspection, and I looked and it had all the engine mounts. So they were either trying to screw me over or they had no idea what they were talking about. read more
