i lovelovelove this place. Seriously above and beyond any other place I've given a Yelp review for…read more The last time I went to a dentist was when I was in elementary school; my parents couldnt afford health insurance, and government sponsored healthcare rarely covers dental work. I looked up Afinia via Yelp, Google, and every case sounded like mine. I let my Wisdom tooth decayed and relied on orajel for years because I had no health insurance and was so scared of dental work. The staff at Afinia was super patient with me and I absolutely adore every single person I've interacted with. Customer service effort is SPOT on to the point that people treat you like family. New patient registration was so easy for me: I actually booked through yelp and then someone called to follow up. Patient intake forms are done online, so no extra waiting at the office! This place is great for people with a lot anxiety. Because its been so long, i had a whole dental wellness exam and found i had a myriad of cavities, along with gingivitis, and needed all of my wisdom teeth pulled. I was adamant on getting IV sedation, which even with my UC employee awesome healthcare, makes all of that super pricey. However Cara (Kara? So sorry cant remember) was fantastic with the financial counseling/planning and determined what would be my best options. Worry free there too! Dr. Voris was great with triple checking what I had to get done, and the communication between staff is awesome because Dr. Heck tagged team and made sure I was good to go with IV sedation. Earlier today i took the oral sedative i was prescribed and it really helped with the anxiety. 12 hours later im sitting in bed half loopy with zero recollection of what happened during my three hour procedure but writing this review feeling loads better. Might forget to do so otherwise. Tl;dr best anxiety-free dentist. Staff, Dr. Heck, and Dr. Voris are great.

I refused their treatment and went to another dentist for second opinion. They found no cavities..no decay..my gums healthy! Do not waste your time and money at Affiniia!

Just got back from a crazy dental procedure that I was freaked out about for at least two weeks…read more But everyone kept warning me, Dr. Godfroy is amazing! And I have to say, its true and I am very surprised there are no reviews for his practice. I have been coming here since before I can remember. I have never had a cavity so really all I could speak to before were the cleanings. Which have always been great, but today I went in for an hour long procedure and the lady taking care of me was a doll. She calmed my anxiety and Dr. Godfroy was talking me through it the whole way. My worst fear is being "tricked." I know that sounds dumb, but I had a nurse once say I wasn't going to get a shot, and then stabbed me with a needle and I passed out. I would much rather know what is coming so my expectations are on point and he made sure I was aware, but not to worry. The procedure was painless and I am sitting here wondering why I got myself so freaked out about it. I had the laughing gas, and the numbing agent and I couldn't feel any pain. Zip. Zero. Dr. Godfroy tells it like it is, in a charming and very comforting way. He has been in the industry forever and his knowledge is incredible. That stigma of the crazy dentist in movies has finally suppressed in my mind and I feel safe and confident that if I ever have any problems Dr. Godfroy will take care of me and do what is in my best interest.

He knows how to run a professional, clean and successful practice. They do everything to keep you calm and relaxed. There is a huge picture window in every room for you to get plenty of natural light and watch the wildlife. I live in Florida and wait until I go back to Cincinnati to get my teeth cleaned because of the great experiences I have had with this practice.

PLEASE DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND READ MINE AND THE OTHERS REVIEWS. Very similar. If I could've don't…read morethat before I went there I would have and would have SAVED my teeth. At All Smiles Dental, I was initially told I needed four crowns. However, on the day of my appointment, they informed me that only two temporary crowns would be placed. They began numbing the side they planned to work on with a numbing gel, but when the dentist arrived, she started giving me a numbing shot on the opposite side, which hadn't been numbed yet. I raised my hand and told her that side wasn't numb before she injected me, and one of the hygienists mentioned that only two crowns were supposed to be done. The dentist responded that all four crowns were going to be done. So, they numbed the other side. After some time, the dentist returned and began working on my bottom tooth. She completed that tooth and moved to the top tooth above it. During this, I had difficulty breathing due to nasal problems and they kept spraying water in my mouth while working on my teeth. The dentist paused and mentioned the bottom teeth were easier to work on or something to that effect. She left the bottom tooth half-done and moved on to the other side. When she started drilling, I immediately raised my hand because of intense pain. She gave me more anesthetic but immediately resumed working on the tooth, without giving the numbing time to take effect. I raised my hand again, still in pain, and she gave me more anesthetic. At this point, I was crying--not just from the pain, but also from the discomfort of the shots. She was visibly frustrated and huffed, saying, "I already gave you X amount of anesthetics." Eventually, she stopped working on that tooth and began working on the upper one instead. I was struggling to breathe and crying uncontrollably, so I told them I was done. The dentist stopped, and the hygienist began preparing my temporary crown for the first tooth that was fully worked on. One of the hygienists was very sympathetic and kindly told me, "Next time, don't let them do all four teeth at once." I left the office with three untreated teeth, one temporary crown, and a temporary filling. I scheduled a follow-up appointment for two weeks later. However, once I got to my car, the front desk called and said there had been a mistake--they couldn't fit me in for the next appointment, as they thought I was getting permanent crowns, not more temporary ones. The new appointment was set for January 29th, a full 44 days after my first visit, leaving me with bare teeth. Not willing to go 44 days without coverage, I scheduled an appointment with my previous dentist to complete the temporary crowns on January 7th, even though they don't accept my insurance. I had to pay $300 out-of-pocket. A week later, I called All Smiles Dental to ask if there were any sooner appointments available, but they said the dentist recommended I go back to my previous dentist. I explained that this wasn't an option because I couldn't afford to pay $5,000 out of pocket. They promised to speak with the dentist and get back to me. After hearing nothing, I followed up later that day, only to find that the dentist had left for the day. I called every day after that, but no one answered. On Friday, January 17th, I called again, and once again, I was told the dentist had left for the day and that I would get a call back by the end of Monday.
