After searching everywhere for home theater installers, I gratefully found Affordable Electric. These guys are a no nonsense professional installation company of anything home theater related. I wanted Sonos speakers mounted in my TV room for surround sound and they handled it no problem. Not too sure if this is the same electrical company because there number is different on Angie's List but I called 909-766-6224 and got a hold of someone. The gentleman assisted me on a problem with a gfci outlet I had. I told him that the outlet I installed was not working and if I can get a quote. He simply said to switch the wires because older outlets were wired differently. If I had any further issues to follow up and he will come fix it. I tried the switch and now my outlets are working. Very glad I was able to find JR. I needed to install a Ring Floodlight outside my house and in trying to do so myself found that existing wiring didn't have power. Instead of trying to figure it out myself which I normally do I decided to look for an electrician as the wiring was all the way up in the attic. My friend recommended an electrician which came out and gave me a quote that was some what unreasonable for what I know would take an hour to 2 max. That electrician said it was a reasonable price considering he needed to go up into the attic and rewire and it would take him roughly 4-6 hours. I was very weary of his explanation and he also threw in the "I'm licensed so you're paying for quality" I decided to look else where and scoured Yelp for someone with high ratings. JR is a busy guys but was able to come out within a week. His quote was very reasonable at half the cost of the first electrician and he finished the job in under 1 hour. I would not hesitate to hire this company again. They are a wonderful father/son team. They gave me a quote range which was acceptable to me for my job. I thought for sure my end price would be on the high end of their range, but it was actually in the middle of their quote! And they even did a little more work than I had initially got quoted for. I had 18 recessed can lights installed along with 4 dimmer switches. And I added an extra outlet plug inside a coat closet day of the install. They came on time, laid drop cloths on the floor and covered all my furniture in plastic and got to work. They were fast, efficient, polite and professional. They made as few holes in my walls and ceilings as they could. I did tell them that they did not need to patch any holes bc I am having other drywall repaired later anyway. However, they did really well in putting back any drywall they cut out. Which no electrician has ever done for me before. Instead of replacing the attic fan, we decided to get a whole house fan installed. It basically sucks in any cool air from outside and blows it up and out of the attic. Otherwise you have the heat accumulating in there and will make the second level of your house warm. If your electricity provider is SCE, then you can apply for a rebate. (In the past it was $50, but it looks like it's $35 now) We called Affordable Electric in April and scheduled to have a whole house fan installed in May. They will actually provide the whole house fan so you don't have to go buy it yourself (unless you want to). We called a few places and their prices seemed to be the most reasonable. (e.g. another place was going to charge $500 just for the labor and we would have to buy the whole house fan ourselves). Our appointment was for 8:00AM, but Red and JR showed up around 7:40AM. it took about 2.5 hours to install it and they were out. They also installed a wall switch. Later that evening, they emailed us a copy of the Invoice. Father and son team that do great work! We've called them before for smaller jobs and recently called them because we have an old house that desperately needed an electrical panel upgrade. The location of our panel needed to be moved according to SoCal Edison and these guys were able to re-route and keep the wiring inside the house when other electricians said it would be too difficult and recommended conduit around the exterior of the home. I can only give one star because the electrician JR lied about returning my phone call after setting up a tentative appointment. I had cleared my afternoon schedule at the time he said he was available and I called to confirm and left a message. When I called again to remind him and give my address, he said he said he was busy now at said time and wasn't available again till next week. I asked why he didn't call back to let me know, he said he had and had left a message. This was a total lie. It was also very obvious he was lying because he began stuttering as he was scrambling for an excuse. I then told him to forget it. He was a little early (a nice surprise) He checked to see why our household voltage was fluctuating. Told me I needed to call Edison and what to say. He graciously declined to take payment (he spent maybe 10 minutes at most) gave me a couple business card and told me he declined any payment because he hoped to get our business in the future. (I fully expected to pay for his services even though it only took a couple minutes).. Even though we have a solar electric system as well as a standby generator they were not phased in the least. About a year ago I hired them to rewire my house. They did an amazing job They were professional and very personable. They listened to my concerns and gave me suggestions I had not thought of it. They always showed up on time and left my house clean as if they weren't there. Recently I was having some problems with my circuit breaker. I called them and they immediately diagnose the problem. Even though they were busy, they were able to come out and fix my problem in a very timely matter. The day of the appointment they showed up early. I called Affordable Electric to inspect the electric panel at my parent's house, as a few breakers seemed to be damaged due to an electrical short from a power strip in the house. Red came out, replaced the three broken breakers (original ones from 1947), and replaced a faulty wall outlet, as well. The price for replacing 3 breakers and an outlet was very fair, and he even offered my father a senior discount. We were very pleased with the work, service, and Red's honesty. My father, who is elderly, had been taken advantage of before by Powell Electric, who tried to charge over $440 for ONE breaker replacement.
