By far the worst contractor experience I've ever had. I hired them in late September of 2022 for…read moresome very basic landscaping. They promised it'd be done in one to two months. (Which at the time should have been a warning, since the work I requested should have taken a week or less.) It is now mid-February of 2023 and the work still isn't done! They've left a wheelbarrow, weed whacker, and a pile of garbage bags full of yard debris sitting in my yard since November. I haven't heard from them since December. Of the incomplete work that they have done: - I had a grass and dirt driveway that I asked to be replace with sod, with mulch on the edges. Pretty standard yard, right? Instead, they put one color of mulch on the edge and filled the rest of the yard/driveway with a different color of mulch! And they did nothing to kill or cover the grass underneath, so now the mulch is full of grass and weeds. - I had two front yard patches with some lovely flowers, where I wanted the weeds pulled and some decorative rocks and plants added. I paid for those rocks in September and despite multiple promises that they were being delivered on a certain day, they have never arrived. Instead of only pulling the weeds, the help that they hired pull most of the nice plants out, including roses, but did nothing to kill the deep-rooted weeds that needed removing. So what had been my flower patches are now mostly bare dirt and weeds. So now I'm out thousands of dollars and my yard looks embarrassingly worse than if I'd never hired them at all. As a first-time homeowner who hadn't yet had a bad contractor experience, I'll chalk this up to an expensive lesson learned. From now on, I'll make sure to get everything in writing and never pay for work until it's actually done.

My mother hired Kaio and his team again and she paid me some of the money promised. They have gone on to do many other projects for my mother which I know she is thrilled about. We chose to go with Jamal and his crew because Jamal said he would be onsite for the actual work and he would ensure that what we discussed was done. This was important because if you have an estimator that isn't onsite for the actual work, sometimes, what is promised and what is completed may not be the same. Jamal gave us a detailed quote and when he and his crew showed up for the work, Jamal definitely remembered all the details that we talked about. We also had the chance to interact and talk to the crew. Everyone was incredibly pleasant and friendly. They were all easygoing with us and with each other. After checking with the neighbors to make sure they were ok with any trimming (not needed but I thought it was the polite thing to do) I did what anyone else would do and looked at Yelp reviews and chose two highly rated companies. Maybe a third quote would have been better but I am satisfied with the results. I had a representative of the first company I chose show up and he looked everything over, got information, and took that information back with him. Meanwhile I called Jamal at Treetime and he came out the next business day or so and gave me a quote instantly. After another day or two the first company emailed me their quote and it was nearly double Jamal's. Either company would probably have done fine. They both have stellar reviews. I am happy I chose Treetime. They were done in less than two hours, which is what Jamal thought it would take.

They scheduled the grinding for another day so the cable/internet cable group could be called to put in a temporary line. They were excellent!…read more The first thing that made me want to use them is when Scott came out to look at my various fruit trees. I'd been told by other arborists that these trees needed trimming. When I asked Scott if my trees needed trimmed he asked, "Why?". He said they were fine as they were. That saved me a huge amount of money right there. He walked around the rest of my land giving good advice, and he didn't feel the need to do many things the other arborists wanted to do. This alone was even more money savings for me. Scott was very knowledgeable and so easy to work with. When we did decide what needed to be done, he sent out his crew who were very respectful and courteous. I had a tree cut down and other trees trimmed, and the crew cleaned up nicely so I didn't have extra debris on my yard. They were very efficient. I am not a friend or relative of Scott, but just someone who wants to give a good review to a company definitely worth it.

We hired Clay's Tree Service to remove a dying cherry tree in our back yard. While the cherry tree…read morewas removed (after some delays), Thomas's team also removed our not-dying cypress tree -- a pretty big error! We had to negotiate with Thomas in order to "only" be charged for the cherry tree. In addition to this huge mistake, Clay's Tree Service did not finish cutting our cherry tree down to size, debris was left throughout the backyard, and they trampled our front yard, turning it into a mud pit. When Thomas's team came by to clean up some of the mess they made, they hit a tree in our front yard with their truck, taking off a large limb. They had the temerity to not notify us of this damage and, upon being confronted, offered us additional "service" as compensation for the damage. This was a horrible experience and I recommend avoiding using Clay's Tree Service in the strongest possible terms.
