Interestingly, all the quotes were in the same ballpark. We chose to go with Jamal and his crew because Jamal said he would be onsite for the actual work and he would ensure that what we discussed was done. This was important because if you have an estimator that isn't onsite for the actual work, sometimes, what is promised and what is completed may not be the same. Jamal gave us a detailed quote and when he and his crew showed up for the work, Jamal definitely remembered all the details that we talked about. We also had the chance to interact and talk to the crew. Everyone was incredibly pleasant and friendly. They were all easygoing with us and with each other. I needed a new roof so in order to have that done I first had to have some very large branches removed from a neighbors tree that hung over, and often contacted, my roof. After checking with the neighbors to make sure they were ok with any trimming (not needed but I thought it was the polite thing to do) I did what anyone else would do and looked at Yelp reviews and chose two highly rated companies. Maybe a third quote would have been better but I am satisfied with the results. I had a representative of the first company I chose show up and he looked everything over, got information, and took that information back with him. Meanwhile I called Jamal at Treetime and he came out the next business day or so and gave me a quote instantly. After another day or two the first company emailed me their quote and it was nearly double Jamal's. Either company would probably have done fine. They both have stellar reviews. The organizational skills are very poor, as far as being professional from the skill level of the leadership, employees, to the organization and work ethic they are far from what anyone in my opinion would want to have working on or around their home. There was a lot of arguing and Dysfunctionality across the board, they did not complete the work as agreed or by the time they were Supposed to have completed it by. Drug usage seemed very likely and I don't know about you but I prefer to have a professional outfit from top to bottom that I am paying my money to have a premium job done correctly and the first time. read more

You guys, let's talk about Tree Time for a hot minute: Today my best friend called me telling me she was going to be late to our Thai food date because she got her brand new drone stuck in a tree. I got onto Craigslist looking for an arborist, and Tree Time popped up first, so I called them at nearly 6:00 at night. Jamal the owner answered immediately and listened to my plight. Meanwhile in the background his partner Russ was shouting that he would come help me, too! Jamal had a new bucket-truck to pick up, so Russ it was :) Y'all, Russ made it to Counsel Crest Park, where the incident happened, in only an hour during peak traffic. I couldn't believe it. He was professional, prepared, safe, and brave af. He safely harnessed and climbed himself to the top of the tree, secured his line, and then George-of-the-Jungled himself back down onto the offending branch, and freed the drone! Worth every penny. Requested a quote from TreeTime and another service on Yelp as soon as we got back from vacation on 10/26. We had a tree fall in the front yard while we were gone and needed to get some branches of the neighbors tree cut back as they were on the power lines. I accepted their bid, and they gave a date and time they would come to do the work, five weeks out. Only: When the day arrived, they didn't show up. And they didn't contact me until 6 1/2 hours after their scheduled arrival! They had an "excuse," one that in any case did not prevent them from picking up the phone and contacting me much earlier that day. I tried to be understanding and gave them two days to sort it out. That's when I called again, leaving a request that they get back to me. They did not. I called a week later and was told that the tree trimmer would call me back in an hour. No call back. Not in an hour, not the next day, or in the days to follow. I never heard from them again. It's not easy to get a tree trimmer these days. I wasted five weeks waiting for these people to come. If I had known they were going to stiff me, I could have tried to find someone else. One tree business told me yesterday that they were five months out. It is very bad business practice to blow off a customer off. These people obviously cannot be trusted. I would never recommend them. read more

Had Tree Time out to trim some giant overgrown birch trees and minor trimming to fence line of trees that were hanging over into our yard. Jamal was super personable and friendly and gave us a very reasonable bid to do the work (was even more affordable than some folks we have used in the past). On actual day of, he and his crew were super efficient. Trees look great and they thoroughly cleaned up the entire area of all debris so you wouldn't even know they were here. He noticed our maple in front was looking sad and offered to trim back some of the dead branches (which was not originally in the scope of work) and wouldn't let me pay for it. Tree Time was recommended to us by a person in the industry, and so we called Jamal. He was prompt and on time with his appointment for the estimate, and explained the whole process, from permitting on through. We knew it was a long shot for one tree to be removed, because it was healthy, and he was honest about that. The others, however, were diseased and dead and had to come out. One had been infested with the Japanese beetle, and was in the back and hard to reach. They had no problem with it, took it out in one day, then returned the next for five others. Jamal and his entire crew were respectful of the property, cleaned it up completely. They were friendly, and answered all the questions we had. All the wood was left out in front with a posting on Craigslist, and within four days it was all gone. The large sycamore that they trimmed up looks great, and will be much more healthy moving forward. We had three bids, and Jamal came in right in line. We chose him because he took the time to explain what would happen, what would not, and was extremely pleasant to deal with. We could tell that he loved his company and his profession.
