I had pretty much all my window panes replaced using Affordable Screens and Glass. I have a 5000sqft house so I spent several thousands of dollars with them. My main point of contact was Cassie who I found to be friendly and easy to talk to. Even the guys that did the actual installs were freidnly, easy to work with and flexible with times. I had no problems in terms of customer service. However, after about a year some of the panes started fogging up, Cassie had them replaced for free under warranty. Then several more and once again they were replaced for free under warranty. As of now (2.5 years later) I have some 14 panes that are completely fogged up, unfortunately it looks like Affordable Screens and Glass has gone out of business. What sucks is I replaced a lot of panes because they were showing the initial signs of leaking (these are 20 year old panes), what I have now is significantly worse looking and did not even last 3 years. read more

Affordable screens & Glass did phenomenal work for us on a couple occasions. First off, they were the only glass company I could find to fix our glazing bead that was damaged from the hail a few years back. They gave use a great price and did a top notch job on it. We contacted them again to replace our master shower enclosure as the hard water of Austin hadn't treated it kindly over the years. Worst experience with this group of people, horrible communication and supposedly fixed our shower door, a week later it broke again. Asked to replace all of the glass in shower, told I'd get an estimate and it never showed until we stated we were going to get other estimates. Our experience started in December and finally got response with estimate in March. Lots of excuses and the final straw was a message from them comparing my shower door to a broken vehicle, plus the lady put in black and white that they DO NOT guarantee their work. We had a very bad experience with Affordable Screens and Glass. I agree they were reasonable in pricing but that's the only advantage of using that business. They were very unreliable, never bothered to answer our questions or call back when we left messages. They never told me that someone is coming to my house to install the glass. They kept saying they couldn't reach me but they had no trouble reaching me when they wanted the check for their work which of course I promptly paid. The owner promised me that he will fix one of the window glasses he missed since it still is covered under his warranty. That window is very foggy and it faces our front yard. It's been six months and not peep from them yet. I understand we all have lives and kids and things happen but we have been nothing but patient with them the whole time but they completely ignored our voice mails to fix that window. read more

I had a pretty good experience with this company. They really do have affordable screens (got 6 fairly large screens with a mix of solar and regular bug screens for about $300). You won't find it much cheaper than that. Install was hassle free and you don't even need to go outside. Overall, the screens look great and the solar screens in particular add value to your home. The reason I did not give 5 stars was because Richard, the gentleman who originally came out to measure my screens, was very short with me and seemed frustrated because I wasn't well versed in screens (who is?). I got him to calm down after I called him out on it and at the end he started being cool. I would use them again since the guys who came out to install and Kassie the office manager were very cool people. I'd definitely use them for your screen needs. review 1/28/2021 It is not the cheapest place, their installers are overloaded and do not have enough time to do good work. I do not suggest this company. The first they came to my house to give me an estimate for my windows's glass replacement they estimated a total of 6 glasses. They did not write down any notes and they did not take enough time to check all of them. When they came back to install it , 2 of the glasses were the wrong size and they had to reorder it. That time found out that 6 more windows need new glass. when they returned to install the wrong size glass and the additional glasses ,one of the windows broke so they had to come back. That time saw that additional windows needed replacement. Last time different workers did the job. Also the material for insulation was black and sticks out of the frame. They were not the cheapest place they think. I found a company with better price and they did better job because I had more glass to be replaced. read more

I have worked with AS&G for a few years and these past 6 months have been HORRIBLE. Quality of work has become poor and now they will not return calls, emails and texts. There are windows that they replaced that the seal has broken and are covered under warranty, but they will not respond! DO NOT USE THESE GUYS!!! read more

I had them replace all of the screens on my house, during the process they broke one of the windows. They promptly replaced it and I thought they did a great job at that point. Fast forward, it's been about 6 months since the replaced the broken window and now the seal has broken and the glass is fogged. I reached out to have it replaced and I have yet to get in contact with them live. We've treaded text and they promise to call me, but as of this review, they have avoided me. I went from a happy customer, to a very pissed off customer. Check their current review before you agree to work with them. I now have to hire another company to replace their problem. read more

This review is LONG overdue. We needed new beads on quite a few of our windows and I was lucky enough to find these guys on YELP. Not a lot of people offer window beading repair so the fact that they did and were AWESOME to boot was a nice win. Scheduling with the office was easy and efficient, pricing fair and the guys who game to the house were timely, professional, effective and nice. Everything you want from an interaction.... Fast forward 6 months - one of the beads on a window they had repaired came off with a pretty serious storm. Called them and they sent someone out the same week to re-repair. They solved quickly and stood by their work. I keep a select few companies bookmarked for future use and they are one of them. Affordable Screens and Glass aka Clear Choice was a pleasure to work with. We had some window glass replaced after rocks cracked and broke them, and we also had them install 3 oversized mirrors in our home gyms that we added some decorative frames around, after the installation. The biggest mirror had to be made 3 times due to the size and problems of cracking during the fabrication. But even with these challenges, Cassie patiently worked with completing the project and made everything come together in the end. They were also the best bang for the buck out of the several glass companies I called for these jobs. They were timely and reliable the entire time they worked on this project. They always returned when they said they would to complete the various installations since there were several parts to this project. Cassie also refused any further payment for the job even after 95% of the job was completed. They are indeed an upstanding company. It's hard to find a company these days who truly care about good customer service. I would definitely recommend them for all your mirror and glass needs. I need another very large mirror to replace the damaged mirror above a bathroom vanity and I also need to replace a fogged window with new Low-E glass. Incredible company - so great to work with! I just moved to Austin and had a handful of upgrades in mind for my house, but the most urgent was new screens (the original ones were warped and I couldn't open my windows without risking bugs coming in). The team was kind of enough to communicate with my dad via email (he lives out of state but as a former contractor, he loves being involved with house upgrades), they came out and measured my windows. Within a few weeks they were back install amazing new screens with solar mesh. I felt a difference in temperature immediately and I've been able to open my windows without any bug worries! Plus, we had one screen that didn't seem completely secure, and within a week of install someone came out to fix it. Awesome, these guys were polite, professional, punctual, and just nice people. James and Nathan came out to Spicewood and replaced 6 large french door glass panels that were 35 years old. Despite being difficult to extract the old glass they were able to preserve the trim and reuse it. Would definitely use again and recommend to others. Oh, and the price was affordable! read more

Affordable Screens and Glass installed our screened in patio. We are extremely happy with their work. We were concerned as we have a home with stone on the exterior. The stone had to be ground down to install the framing for the screens. They were meticulous with the grinding, then added masonry covered with caulk to make a finish product. Got 2 quotes for replacing an odd shaped window in our house that was cracked. Affordable Screens and Glass was 1/3 of the price, matched the tinting, and because of the shifting in our old lake house, had to reorder the glass to make it fit. Didn't charge any extra. I had to deal with a kid-created situation where both panes of a dual pane window were broken. Rick sent out a crew the next day and I had a replacement within three days. He said he had to work with his supplier but from my view, he just delivered. The crew was professional, quiet and got the job done. A neighbor came over and they ended up with another job as a result of their accomplishment. Price was very reasonable, at least half as much as Binswanger.
