Their estimate included frame, mirror and installation...one stop shopping. She provided the estimate in minutes and also emailed the estimate. Our visit at Texas Mirrors & Doors was pleasant, effective and efficient. We really like that this is a family owned, local business. They do both commercial and residential projects. Ordered two 24 x 48 mirrors several weeks ago and it took about a week to get done. When I went in to pick up, no one was sure where the mirrors were so I had to leave and come back several hours later to grab them. Unfortunately a contractor cracked one of the mirrors during a renovation project so contacted them again about getting a replacement just so both mirrors were fabricated at the same place. Called Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday and was told each day that someone would check on availability and call me back. No one ever did. Then I had my girlfriend call on that Thursday and they told her they were short staffed and simply couldn't do it. That info would have been really nice to know all of the times I called and was promised a call back. I understand being short staffed but it is not that hard to just give a customer a ring back to let them know you aren't able to do it, particularly when given 3 opportunities. read more

Two weeks ago we called these guys to come out and repair our shower door. They showed up 25 minutes late, did a terrible job repairing the door(the technician was nice according to my wife). Two weeks later, the door is having the same exact problem that was supposed to be fixed. $125 later, we are now back to where we were before I called these guys. Today, the apparent owner was supposed to come out at 10:00 to look at the door again. At 11:20 (yes, 11:20) he finally shows up. I even called the company at 10:45 and said "I assume since it's already 45 minutes past my appointment time, that nobody is coming? The office staff called the owner and then called me back, letting me know he would be here within 15-20 minutes. Well, 30-35 mins later he finally shows up. No apologies for being an hour and twenty minutes late (after I had to cancel my appointment with one of my clients, due to the fact I was stuck waiting on him to show up). We proceed to the master bathroom where the shower door is. He comes up with every excuse possible starting with the fact that his guys can't give any kind of warranty based on the door not being one of their products. Basically, we spent $125 for the door to be "fixed" and that money is down the drain. I asked why his employees didn't share that this would be a very temporary fix...no answer. He also tried to justify being an hour and 20 minutes late by saying "if you go to the doctor's office, you sometimes have to wait." I kindly reminded him that he is not a doctor. Olivia from the office (EXTREMELY nice lady who receives non of the blame) just called and said the owner called her and said they will refund 1/2 if the money spent. I get the feeling this has something to do with the fact that I let him know I would be writing a review the minute he left. These guys had the lowest price of the 4-5 companies I called, and I believe I have figured out why. read more

When one of the hinges on my shower glass door broke, I called the Glass Doctor to get an estimate on repair. They gave me two quotes, one for repair and one to replace the entire glass shower enclosure. From the high estimate for repair, it was pretty obvious they were really trying to get me to spend the extra moolah on a whole new installation. They also tried to convince me that repairing it could take hours (due to the chance that they might run into rusty screws) and that the chrome might not look exactly the same as the rest of the frame. I gave Texas Mirrors & Doors a call and spoke with Andy who arranged to come out the same afternoon. He looked at it and told me that fixing it wouldn't be a problem and his estimate was half that of the Glass Doctor. I really appreciated the fact that he wasn't trying to up-sell me, and his advice was that fixing it really was the best option since the shower was perfectly fine other than the broken hinge. Andy's guys came the next day and repaired it in less than an hour. The new chrome pieces match perfectly, so it's as good as new. I couldn't be happier! read more

I have to second Steve W.'s review from 2/19/2015. I contracted TM&D due to good front end service and the cheapest price of 3 companies that I had quotes from for a sliding glass door repair. Despite paying a deposit, materials for my simple repair were never received by TM&D; therefore, no repair was completed. Deposit was refunded very quickly. I paid a deposit on May 18th and explained that I needed my sliding glass door repaired before June 5th due to moving out of the city. The company literally never called me to let me know that the glass wasn't delivered from their manufacturer; despite several kind, patient requests for more proactive communication on their part (I made 8 phone calls to them during 3 weeks checking on status). When I finally got frustrated and lectured the very, very nice administrative staff, they did respond and promise for the glass to be delivered. I had pressured them to book an appointment despite not having the glass in hand. Three hours before my second scheduled appointment on Friday, June 5, I called the office - guess what, no glass. They requested I call back 1.5 hours later to confirm the glass was on it's way. I called, no glass on it's way, I requested the deposit refund and contracted another company, Glass Doctor. My appointment with Glass Doctor is tomorrow and I am making another trip to Austin despite having moved in order to have this repair completed, due to the lack of integrity from Texas Mirrors and Doors. read more

I like to support local business, especially if I can support neighborhood businesses. Therefore, it is disappointing to experience POOR quality of service: 1) After scheduling an appointment, they forgot about it, and had to call to remind them; 2) After asking them to call before scheduling installation, they showed up twice without calling first; 3) The wrong size glass was cut; 4) The wrong number of pieces were brought over; 5) It took them over a week to finally schedule an confirmed appointment; and, 6) They failed to show up to their scheduled appointment! There is a disconnect between the staff that measures, the staff that cuts, the dispatchers, and the installers, which all around leads to lousy inconsistent and inconsiderate service! read more

We had a glass shower door installed on our home when it was being built 5 years ago. It shattered one evening when my daughter was about to take a shower. The glass shattered exactly as it was supposed to and my daughter was unharmed. So here is my story. I met with Andy (I guess the owner) to get a quote on replacing the hardware on my glass shower door. My wife and I switched our fixtures in our home from polished brass to polished nickel. After showing Andy my bathroom, I requested two quotes: one for polished chrome and one for polished nickel. He informed me that he would contact his office with the measurements and his office would call me back. I spoke with a woman (Dianna) from their office where she provided me two quotes. I informed her that I was opting for the polished nickel as the cost difference was not much. I reminded her of my choice as at one point in the conversation she mentioned chrome again. She assured me that she was aware of my polished nickel choice and that I would have to wait when they received the parts. Fast forward 2 weeks later, after putting a down deposit, I receive a call to schedule the installation. They showed up on time and installed the hardware. Fortunately, I requested to keep my original hardware (on a side note they did not ask me if I wanted to keep it and after reading some reviews it makes me wonder if they recycle old hardware!). I read the description on the box indicating I just received polished chrome. I contacted the office, and they contacted Andy. Andy calls me stating that he remembers that I decided on chrome hardware, which is funny since I did not make any final decision with him as described above (Andy was suppose to call in my measurements and his office assistant Dianna called me back). I made my final decision with Dianna from his office after reviewing the two quotes. Whatever happened to the customer is always right? He tries to inform me that he would never have provided an invoice for polish nickel as this required a special order and is an item he does not keep in stock. Hmm, I did wait TWO WEEKS! for the installation to occur. if Andy was truly honest, why not do the installation immediately if you have chrome always stocked? Why did I wait TWO WEEKS if I supposedly ordered chrome? To remedy the situation, Andy's solution is to just place my original hardware and provide a refund. He did not offer to replace the hardware with the correct color or offer any discount as a result of the mistake. His immediate solution is to avoid the problem all together, while I have lost an entire day dealing with his company's lack of organization and customer service. I actually offered him to replace the correct hardware and charge me the difference! I did not raise my voice at any point of the conversation. But Andy lost his cool becoming short with me very quickly. For those who are just looking for hardware changes, SEARS actually carries CRL fixtures. The same most contractors such as Texas Mirrors and Doors carry at a fraction of the cost (about 20-30% mark up on Texas Mirror and Doors prices including S&H). As for shower doors or any glass work, I would recommend another company. Other reviews demonstrate a similar pattern of ordering the wrong product and placing blame on the customer than actually taking accountability. I hope this helps someone from avoiding a headache like I did. UPDATE: These scam artists tried to charge me labor for not doing anything! I had to contact my credit card company to notify them that services were not provided by these jokesters and got my money back. I can only assume that the owner Andy thought I would not bother with a small claim filing as his labor fee was just over the small claim filing fee. Luckily, my credit card company ROCKS and got my money back. PLEASE READ THE NEGATIVE REVIEWS AS THEY HAVE SHARED THE SAME EXPERIENCE I DID WITH THIS VERY UNPROFESSIONAL COMPANY. Ask yourself why they are not accredited by the BBB. I should have done more research, but I thought, "hey, I am only changing the hardware on my glass door, how hard can it be?" Apparently, Texas Mirrors and Doors cannot get the job done with this simple task, so it makes you wonder how they would do if they had a larger project to complete. ALWAYS QUESTION THOSE SO-CALLED 5-STAR REVIEWS! I guarantee they are family and friends. They should not be allowed to use Texas in their company name; they shame Texas by doing so. In response to Sulinda M. (again I am sure this is someone close to the company if not related), I was provided an electronic invoice and all was listed was PARTS. I did not sign anything, so when Andy attempted to charge me for installing then uninstalling the wrong parts, I was not held liable for his and his office's mistake. It was my mistake assuming this company would address their mistake in a professional manner. The so-called "detailed estimate" must be a 50/50 thing with this company. Hopefully, they will learn from their mistakes (doubt it) and provide detailed estimates to everyone like they should be doing from the beginning. I was referred to Andy w/TMirrors & Doors by a contractor friend who knew him. I like using referrals, but in this case, I would have to say my friend doesn't really know these guys very well. I am a general contractor myself and gave Andy several window jobs and had many more lined up for him, however, he never showed up when he said he would, never contacted me or my customers, would not answer my calls and would only respond with limited 1 word text explanations such as OK or Yea. My son broke a double-pane window. i brought it to this business and I am disappointed for two reasons: 1) they said they couldn't find a plastic piece that I ended up eaily finding on www.windowandoorparts.com. They also took too long to tell me this. 2) when I picked up the window, one of the trim pieces was not properly re-installed. it fell off as I was trying to put the window back in. I can't fix this because it has to be instaled properly when the glas is re-framed. So i paid $97 and am not satisfied. I would recommend to the owner or person who fixes the windows: please don't leave the explanation of the repairs to the people in the office who don't understand the issues and can't "own" the workmanship. I mentioned the loose trim piece to the lady who took my money but she didn't have any pride of workmanship so she didn't care that the trim piece was not properly installed. read more

We are gradually remodeling a bathroom and had a huge old mirror that encroached on the space for the bathtub surround. Texas Mirrors & Doors agreed to cut it down to the size we wanted and remount it, and they came out the same day and did a wonderful job! They sent 3 very friendly and professional guys (like I said, a large mirror) who quickly took the mirror down, cut it and remounted it. While two were cutting the mirror, the third was cleaning around the edge where the mirror used to be and putting up the clips to hold it (the old mastic had failed). They sanded the edge after cutting and cleaned up too. Highly recommended! read more

I later called them for a glass piece over my large built-in desk. While I ordered clear glass, and they mistakenly brought a mirrored glass, they were able to produce the glass piece and deliver it same day. I thought their pricing and delivery was very reasonable. I had 2 window panes break and needed this outside door fixed relatively quickly. I called 4 places and most couldn't even help me for 2-3 days. Andy at Texas Mirror and Door gave me a quote of ~30-40% less of what others were quoting, came out & finished the job pretty quickly and even gave a little off the price as it did not take as long as he thought. The job was done perfectly and I was very satisfied. They came when they said, honored the quote, and was out of my hair so I could do other things. I saw some reveiws and most say good things about them so I took a chance and was very pleased. As usual, there is always one complainer and this one woman was complaining, cussing and using words not fit for a harlot. NC. She'll probably need a lot of luck and hopefully can find a fiance' that will do what most 'men" should be doing. Wonder why she was doing that chore? My dog broke our living room window in our rent house. The wood was old and also got damaged. I called Texas Mirrors & Doors at 10 am, and they were out at 12:30 to take measurements. They left, I received a call from the lady giving me the quote which was SUPER reasonable compared to other places. We left a key out for them to come back that afternoon, and it was fixed by the time I got home from work. The window looks better than before and the lady on the phone was very nice and service oriented. Hopefully I won't need any more glass repairs soon, but if I do, I am calling them! read more

I have used this business for a glass shower wall, specialty glass door sidelights, custom glass shelves, and fixed glass windows. They discuss it with you over the phone and give you a general idea of the cost. If you decide to pursue it, they come out and measure. Then they print out a detailed estimate and you sign your approval and pay a deposit. They don't place orders any other way so I'm guessing that the Melanie in the other review was confused Or misunderstood what Andy was saying. They aren't going to order without the process above. If B W. felt he had received the wrong product, then why didn't he just pull out the estimate he signed and look to see what he signed for? Believe me Andy would honor it. I resent the implication that I am family or friend. I do remodels and Andy is the best glass man I have found. He does it right and stands behind his work. I found Texas Mirrors & Doors on Yelp, and decided to give them a try for shower glass on 2 bathroom remodels. One was a standard (fairly large) shower, and the other I requested a bi-fold glass shower screen for a tub combination. For both products I felt the price quoted was competitive, and I found their communications and service to be both responsive and of good quality. I also had them remove and frame 2 large mirrors. Other than a couple week delay waiting for some hardware, everything went smoothly and I'm very pleased with the results. The staff was consistently friendly, and I highly recommend! read more

Talk about absolute bullshit, we dealt directly with the owner of this company after Taylor, who we spoke with the day earlier, was out. We received a quote for 4 pieces of glass and left our credit card number, all with the owner - after not hearing back from him for almost 3 weeks my fiance called the guy back - he said there was no name, no company name, no credit card, NOTHING on file, and the owner is the one who took the information in the first place. At the end of the discussion my fiance told him the exact glass sizes and the figures we were quoted and the guy said, "oh.. uh..well maybe that what happened.." Maybe that's what happened?!?!.. what a fucking joke - he guarantees to honor the quote we were given then instead of having the balls to call back to apologize and say they made an error, he instead pretends like it never happened in the first place, tells us we never gave him a credit card which is why they never ordered the glass - so we say, then just order it and save us the freight, expedite the shipping, he says No Way, i can't give you glass for that price. Texas Mirrors and Doors is a shitty business, look at the 5 star reviews, they're not from real people - it's a good thing Yelp filters, they have about 4 more reviews that need to be removed for this place. Not only that, this place isn't registered with BBB (i always tell my fiance to check, when will he learn??) - and while the BBB is a bit of a racket, i have always noticed that really bad businesses never register with them, add this one to the list. read more

I'm giving one star because we ordered a shower door for a newly remodeled shower, and were promised the order would be installed in about ten days, after the custom shower would arrive. In the beginning the owner did come out just hours after my first call to him, and then he came out a second time with his assistant, he said to be sure the measurement was correct. However now it's over three weeks later and I still don't have a door. So I called their business to inquire about the hold up, since they never called me! The receptionist tells me they're waiting on a part. She said she would check with the place where they ordered this part and call me back today. If she calls and they install the door soon, I will remove this negative review. If they don't I will ask for my deposit of over 1K to be returned. I should have read the reviews and done more research before hiring them. After seeing the other reviews I'm very doubtful that this will end well. Maybe this company should receive some recognition from the local news stations who reveal fraudulent businesses. read more

Do not use these guys! I've been trying for over a month now to get a mirror cut and replaced, and this place has been trouble from day 1. They don't deliver on their promises, don't communicate, don't do decent work. I've had to call repeatedly just to ask for news, had to work around constantly shirting deadlines and appointments, and had to work around bad work that they don't seem to be very concerned about. Even simple things like returning a call seem like too much work for them. I deeply regret ever having done business with Texas Mirrors and Doors. I'm told that the installation staff is friendly and courteous. Other than that, there's really nothing to recommend about this business, and a lot of reasons why you should go elsewhere. read more

First of all I'll start by saying that when the job was finally finished, I was happy with the end result. Other than that, working with this company was a nitemare. It took FOREVER for them to get one window glass installed. Yes, 1. They had to come back 4 times to measure the window. I don't know what was going on with that. Communication is also horrible. They never get back to you when they say they will. Each time I contacted them to follow up on the install I got the old "we'll get back to you shortly once we find out what's going on". After the first few weeks of this, whenever I was told this I just went ahead and planned on calling them back later that day. Horrible customer service. Even the employees who came to do the job were complaining about how horrible the company is and that they don't know how to schedule jobs to keep the workers on track. For someone to complain about the company they work for to the person they're doing a job for says A LOT. I would have given 1 star but like I said, I was happy when the window was FINALLY finished. If you're not in a rush to get your job done, go ahead and go with them. But be ready to make frequent calls to follow up with them. I definitely will not use them again. read more
