He said they would have to CHARGE ME $2.50 extra for choosing the ones I would want. This was the second time this ridiculous comment was made; I didn't believe them at first. I proceeded by asking them 'why they are doing this?' They said it comes from the management and that they couldn't do anything about it. I was absolutely disgusted by this type of robbery. This is FRAUD when they are marketing a price and then try to CHARGE me extra for what I am already paying. The customer service was complete GARBAGE! I am paying by the LB! They treated me like I was robbing them for even asking. I will be REPORTING this to the better business bureau as this is a shady practice. The butchers were even mocking me when I was paying at the cash register. They began to laugh and even sing. It is NOT about the money. It is about the PRINCIPLE! This isn't how you run a business. This is shameful and WILL be reported. It is same to assume that I WILL never set foot in this place again and I will only support businesses that care about the customer. Their meat and fish dept is on par, price-wise, with major supermarkets, most of the time. I might pay $.40 a pound, more for catfish in season, but the price doesn't change out of season. Year-round, it's the same. (I'd buy fish here before I would at Save-Mart or O'Briens!!) I also don't have to drive 7 miles down the road for the $.40 cheaper per pound, price, for frozen stuff. Gas costs! I definitely don't have to put up with fish that doesn't look or taste as well as what I buy locally. I can examine each and every piece of meat or fish that I buy there. No packages hiding huge pieces of fat underneath or smelly fish. If anyone has a problem with the butcher part of the store, no worries. They take great pride in the meats & fish that are carried now. I have actually been told, once, that I could not buy the poultry that I wanted, as it wasn't fresh enough. I bypass supermarket fish, catfish & produce to purchase from here. You can not beat it for taste and price. Owners are very friendly and very helpful. Staff speaks fluent English as well.
