I went here for the first time today and I am so thrilled I have this place a shot! Every single thing I bought there was ripe and deliciousI got a watermelon (vibrant red and so sweet!), corn, zucchini, eggs, peaches, strawberries, and a cantaloupe. All for $20. Definitely worth it. I hate going to the grocery store and bringing home stuff that's not good. I do wish that they had more in stock tho! They didn't have any more broccoli today.. I stop by here often to pick up the latest in season fruits and veggies. One of the rare locations to offer fresh figs when they are in season. They also have great sourdough bread so fresh and so good I always have to pick up a loaf. They also have a small selection of desserts like turnovers and such. It's always tempting to pick up a few treats. read more

I bought white peaches, plus purple and red pluots WOW they were so juicy and full of flavor. I love stone fruit. I bought some from the grocery store earlier this season which were awful. I looked up fruit stands that sell stone fruit, near me. I live in Merced Loretelli's was the first one that popped up and after reading all the positive reviews I decided to take the trek to Loretelli's from Merced. I am very pleased that I did, because it was worth the drive. I bought some lovely tomatoes as well. What a difference between grocery store produce and Fruit Stand produce!! I was VERBALLY ABUSED AND HUMILIATED yesterday by the owner of this fruit stand ... I am a senior (68) and disabled (I have mobiliy issues) .. I stopped by to pick up a few things .. I have been a customer for years ... I took issue with the 3% additional charge to use my credit or debit card ... I know this is a small issue for some people ... this is a matter of principle to me ... prices for everything have gone up everywhere ... Loretellis included ... and quite frankly ... I'm simply done with being nickeled and dimed ... I CHOSE to politely put my items back and leave ... the owner was not happy with that and started to SCREAM AT ME to "GET OFF MY PROPERTY !!!!!!!" ... "GET OUT OF HERE !!!!!!!" .... "DON'T COME BACK !!!!!!" ... HE CONTINUSOUSLY SCREAMED AT ME UNTIL I REACHED MY CAR AND WAS SAFE INSIDE ... There were other customers there ... looking at me like I had done something wrong ... I was HUMILIATED ... I did nothing wrong ... I simply chose not to pay the $0.75 to use my debit card ... He might have reservations speaking to a man in this manner ... but he seems quite comfortable treating a disabled senior woman in an abusive manner like this ... I came home last night with a Strawberry flat that I purchased only to be frustrated when taking strawberries out to a different container. The strawberries on top were big and beautiful but on the bottom of the box the strawberries were bad. So basically felt that's this is an issue the bad soggy produce is in the bottom of the baskets tucked away out of sight. I called and spoke to BILLY and had horrible customer experience. I informed him of my experience and I did not want money back or more produce I just wanted to make them aware of what had happen. Extremely rude told me to come by the fruit stand and see other baskets they have so that I can show him what I call "bad". Who has time to go do that? Ugh!! I again told him I'm just calling so that you guys are aware of your bad fruit. I don't want the money or replace produce. Billy then said "Go buy your food somewhere else" & call got disconnected. Went to check fresh fruit and my husband went through baskets to check for bruised produce-2 pieces he caught before being told to not touch. Only grocery environment that expects buying fruit as it is presented. We have brought home bad fruit-it happens. Maybe weigh out produce and let people do there what would happen in a groc store. read more

This place is great, They are very nice and when you ask them a question they will answer you with all the details you would need.

Just returned from there. While all the customers had on masks, the young man ringing up purchases did not! He had a bandana at his throat, but at no time did he cover his nose or mouth. The mask is ineffective if not covering both! read more

I've been coming here for 5 years. Ever since my Great-Grandmother passed, I felt that this needed to be the fruit stand to go to since this was hers. We always get our Christmas tree here and whenever I'm in the area I stop by and get some delicious fruit or veggies. I've never had anyone be rude to me or treat me badly. It's sad that other's have. I've even purchased bread here and cookies and they have always been fresh and very flavorful. At one time I would have given 5 stars and not given it a second thought. But lately have been frustrated with getting purchase home only to find bad veggies or fruit than was not visible to the eye while on display. I understand not handling the produce and respect that rule. But when it's obvious that lesser produce is tucked away out of sight in baskets or bags that becomes an issue. I would ( all fruit is not perfect ) allow for that had the prices not also gone up. Will still shop but will definitely be more cautious of what's in those bags once I get to the check out counter. read more

I've passed this location everyday on my way to work. I had a day off today so I decided to stop in and see what they had to offer. It was very busy and I can understand why! The prices are very reasonable and the produce looks super fresh. In addition to the produce, they have honey, baked goods, almonds, and flowers. I purchased way more than I intended to, but everything looked and smelled amazing. I got 3 packs of strawberries, a box of boysenberries, a bag of plums, a bag of apricots, and a basket of jalapeño peppers. All of this only set me back about $15. I couldn't wait to try the boysenberries, I have never had them before. They were good, but the strawberries! Probably the best I've ever had. I'm not ashamed to say some of them didn't make it home. To be honest, I had read the Yelp! reviews and was worried from all the reviews that mentioned bad customer service. My first experience there was a great one. The staff was friendly and helpful. This is one of the many fruit stands in and around Modesto. This one has been at this address since 2008. They moved from their old location on 4100 Coffee Road. You can count on all of there produce to be fresh. Especially their nectarines and peaches white or yellow and of course very sweet and juicy. Got 5 nectarines and 5 peaches along with 4 ears of sweet corn for only $6.00. There is plenty of parking space. You might want to keep your windows closed due to all the dust from cars coming and going. All produce we purchased to date from Loretelli Farms has been delightful. For $2, we purchased a perfect basket of strawberries. The sweet corn was amazing (4 for $1) and the zucchini was excellent. We will return to this fruit stand and update this review as we collect more data. For now, we are quite pleased. read more

Wow the first reviewer? I hate to think I am the only one who was excited about their produce. I live in San Diego so that may account for my excitement over the San Joaquin Valley produce. My cousin has always spoke so highly of this fruit stand and wow her comments were not overstated. Everything was reasonably priced, especially their buxom and beautiful strawberries, oh how I miss them. I drove back home to San Diego with two bags full of delicious findings. The corn was so 'meaty' and flavorful, the red onions were HUGE, the jalapenos were plentiful, and the tomato variety was awesome. I wish they would have had a verity of lettuce but maybe they did and were just sold out once I got there in the mid-afternoon. The staff seemed friendly enough and parking wasn't an issue, at least not for me. I am returning to Modesto this October and anxiously await my next visit! Oh and their pumpkins!!!! read more

Fantastic little find on our way back to Stockton. The two young men there were very helpful and polite. The prices were a great deal, for the amount you are getting. Now, you must try the nectarine/plum fruit. We regret getting just one, because it was juicy and sweet, not overly sweet though. Fresh produce is hard to come by. I don't mean the chemically overgrown, radiation sterilized produce from your local grocery store. What I mean are organically grown, locally harvested, juicy stuff. This is what you will find at Loretelli's. Everytime I come here the tomatoes are plump and juicy, the strawberries are red not white like in the stores, and the service is extremely good. The most important thing about this place is that you will most likely pay half of what you do at the supermarket buying the same produce here. If you haven't done so already, drive to this stand and try a tomato, or a grape, or a blueberry and you will see what I am talking about. read more

Came here to get some monster white peaches and some grapes. The grapes and peaches were $3 each. They came in a bag you can just pick up and buy and the grapes were super sweet. I haven't had the peaches yet but based on their size and the triple digit heat I would think they would be pretty good. read more

I love Loretelli Farms. They are by far the best fruit stand in Modesto. Their prices are always reasonable and lower than other stands. Their produce is usually good, unless you get there after the summer when it starts to look a little beat up. The only complaint I have is with some of the staff. Nearly every time I've been there and have looked through the baskets to make sure nothing is rotted or nasty looking (which is what most people check for, right?) I get asked if something is wrong and told that I can just dump the stuff into a bag and leave the basket. When I mention why I'm looking through, they give a look like I'm stupid and wasting their time or holding up some kind of line. Otherwise, this is a great place and I'd recommend it to anyone that asked. read more

I ALWAYS stop here when I am in the Modesto area, and there is a good reason - fresh, local, and fantastic food! The product is always fantastic, and they also offer some well crafted pies, candies, jams and other local goodies. I always have to get a bottle of the Vidalia Onion Salad Dressing that they offer. The staff is always knowledgeable, helpful and enthusiastic about their produce. Always great fruit. They have two to three staffers always checking on the quality of fruit that they display . I have not seen a mushy or overripe fruit with flies yet. They keep everything fresh off the trees or out of their cold storage . Always my go to place for local fruit . So sad when I decide to try other stands because of my driving route . Btw you can tell how good it is. They seem to always have a short line of people and everyone seems to make their sections quick and get out . They must be moving a ton of fruit all day long. The elder Mr Loretelli is an incredibly nice fellow, and his business is one that I will continue to frequent. His son however is less than amiable. Today while I was there, I tried to ask him (the son) a question about a particular fruit and he didn't respond. I said excuse me a little louder and he looked at me with a look that told me that he heard me the first time and chose to ignore me. After a pregnant pause he said "yes"? I asked if they had a particular fruit in the cold box and he replied "whats wrong with whats out there", and started walking over. I replied that it was hot. he picked one up from the back of the counter where I couldn't reach and handed it to me and asked if it was ok, and I replied yes, he took it back, dropped it on the counter and walked off. I said I can't reach that, and he ignored me. a moment later as I was still standing there, befuddled, he said there'll be more in three days. I guess he doesn't need my business. read more
