I have a very old (1987 SEL) Mercedes-Benz, which a lot of mechanics do not want to work on or will over-charge to touch. Albert and his team took over Precision from Eric, and they are great. They had the part on hand and had me in and out that day. The price of the labor was extremely reasonable. Parts can get pricey, but that is the case with these old Mercedes'. I will definitely be going back for the little fixes that I have been avoiding. My one tip is to call ahead. They might not be able to get your car in same-day, but you can make arrangements for later in the week. In this case, my car was not running and in a safe lot, so this worked out. read more

Gonzalo is the best. I've been going to him for years. He is the mechanic you go to when all others fail, so I just always go to him. My GMC C3 (they no longer work on American vehicles, G was just doing an old customer a favor) was horribly trashed by a thief in San Francisco. What idiot uses a grinder to steal a vehicle? Unfortunately, I finally had a problem that even stumped Gonzalo the genius mechanic. He could not figure out how to get my pickup fixed due to the extensive ignition system electrical damage. But even in defeat, I feel Gonzalo succeeded in contributing to my vehicle's return to the road. It is complicated to explain, but Gonzalo did do the main repair that ultimately fixed my vehicle, we all just didn't know it at the time. When he went as far as he could with my repair, he then put me in contact with the super expert specialist that took me the remaining 10 percent of the way to getting my truck going. Thanks again "G" for taking on what others did not want to touch, staying with me on the repair, and contributing to the eventual repair. I had just left an auto dealership after declining a service that was simply unaffordable for the moment. I wasn't questioning the quote, I was just sad it was so high. I happened upon AG Precision and the VW Bug icon caught my eye, so I rolled in for a 2nd opinion. Not only was the estimate about 50% less than the dealership quote, the work was completed in about 2 hours, and part of that 2 hrs was wait-time for the part. NEVER AGAIN! I was having problems with my O2 sensor so I dropped my car off on Monday, July 20th and returned to check on the car Friday, July 24th - but my car was not there! Erich told me that the mechanic just left for a test drive and instructed me to return in an hour...seriously, dude where's my car? When the mechanic (who was NOT WEARING A FACE COVERING) returned with my car almost an hour later, I noticed that the car was driven for 44 miles since the last start. By the way, my car was driven over 100 miles since I dropped it off at Precision Motors. Nonetheless, Erich proceeded to tell me that he replaced the thermostat (which I never authorized), but that the car still couldn't pass the smog test. He then told me that my car had all kinds of mechanical issues - the polar opposite of what he told me in January 2020 when I took my car to his shop for a routine "A Service." At that time, he told me that my car was fine except for the rear brakes. My car has been serviced by Precision Motors for approximately three years. Initially, the service was stellar. However, my recent repair jobs were problematic. In January 2020, I paid almost $700 to have my rear brakes replaced. I called Erich a few days later to report that the brakes were squeaking loudly; he told me to drive it for 500 miles and if they're still squeaking to bring it back to the shop. The brakes continued to squeak until shortly before the July 2020 service; however, when I finally got my car back the brakes were squeaking again! Needless to say, the events of "repair job" were absolutely unprofessional and unacceptable. Erich refused to have a conversation with me and abruptly told me to take the car and go. Where do I begin? I don't think I need to explain the value of a trusted auto mechanic. There are few feelings worse than dropping off your car for necessary repairs, and knowing that you're going to get ripped off, but also knowing that there's nothing you can do about it (you need your car to work, after all.) Erich is the exact opposite of that situation. I know that I can drop off my car for any reason, and not worry about any unexpected "extras" being added to my invoice. Having a mechanic tell you that a certain repair might not be worth the cost is a rare and beautiful thing, and that type of honesty is what creates loyal customers. My car was recently at his shop, and I received a call noting that an additional (previously undiscussed) repair would be needed, I explained that I would be able to make that repair myself (I can fix the little things.) Due to a miscommunication with the person working on my car, the repair was done anyway, and when I arrived to pay my invoice, I was informed of the error, and not charged for the repair. I could go on and on... I've been taking my car to Erich for about ten years, across three different shops, and if he ever retires, I'll consider selling my car and buy a nice bicycle. Eric is great. Never upsells me. I went in recently to have spark plug coils replaced which he accomplished in a couple hours. I asked him if I needed any fluids changed, how my tires looked, etc. It was an opportunity for Eric to sell me items that I didn't need (not that I was testing him), but he said everything looked great and nothing else was needed. Funny guy too. Not like a clown but has dry humor that passes the time while you wait for your invoice and car to be pulled around. Would recommend to any friend! read more
