A month before my sister's wedding I finally got my dress in the mail and the company I bought it from sent it two sizes too small. I was panicking and had no idea how I was ever going to make it work. I was very self conscious, nervous, and embarrassed. I found Agape here on yelp and after reading all the reviews about Joy I decided to take the dress to her. From the moment I walked in the store I felt very comfortable. She was so confident that we could make the dress fit, although I still had trouble believing it. 12 days later I picked up my dress and IT FITS!!! She is amazing at what she does! Also the price was better than I expected it would be and the time it took to do the alterations was less than 2 weeks! WOW. All I can say is WOW. I took in my wedding dress to get the train that i had gone somewhere else put on (and it was done pretty poorly) taken off and get a couple more layers of fabric added to the dress, but unfortunately i had waited too long, and Joy wouldn't have had time to finish the task, which was fine by me. She recommended we also hem the bottom so it wouldn't drag as much. all together, was about 70 bucks, which was a little pricy, but thats okay, considering the quality of work and the customer service i got. if i ever need anything else altered, I'm going straight to Joy!! read more

Amazing!!! I needed my wedding dress altered in the time span of one week, with no time to spare. I needed three things done to it: it needed to be taken in at the waist , lifted in the shoulders and a hook needed to be added in the back. Not only did the owner do an amazing job and made the dress fit like a glove , but she beat the one week timeline! I was freaking out when I arrived at her shop, but she made me feel at ease instantly and then came through with the awesome finished product at very reasonable price. read more

She was able to make my alterations within 4 weeks by letting me come in before her store opened. When I went in after the alterations had been made, the dress still didn't fit right but she made the additional alterations less than 48 hours later and it fit right and she didn't charge me again. Alterations were pricey, over $300 on a wedding gown but my friends who have recently gotten married said that was normal. Overall good experience. read more

I was recently in a wedding. When I received my bridesmaid dress, it was a size 10. I am a size 6. Needless to say, major work needed to be done. I googled local alterations and was impressed with Agape's reviews. I took my dress in early evening on September 24, and it was ready in one week. The lady was so sweet and kind. She admitted that it was a lot of work, but took $30 off without me asking. This was a blessing because I was tight on cash. When I went to pick up my dress, it fit perfectly and looked as if I had bought the dress in a perfect size. You could not even tell that work had to be done to it. Joy was wonderful when it came to doing the alterations for my wedding dress! I did a lot of research on wedding alteration businesses in the area and what they charge, and was prepared to spend $300+ to get my wedding dress altered. My wedding dress was mermaid style with many layers of fabric and detailed beading. It needed a bustle, as well as to be taken out. Joy was so sweet from the very beginning, and it only cost me $120. I was pleasantly surprised to spend much less than I expected, and although Joy was concerned about how difficult it would be to do the work on the dress, my wedding dress fit perfectly and looked beautiful when I picked it up. I don't even know how to start. Best customer service and AMAZING work. I took my wedding dress to Joy to have it taken in on the sides and to bring the length up. It has very intricate lace. I went to 3 other places beforehand that I didn't trust and never felt as comfortable as Joy made me feel. Her pricing is MORE than reasonable. I had a great experience here! And I'm very thankful because it was my first time taking something to get tailored.The lady was super sweet and helpful! She altered a bridesmaids dress for me and did an awesome job. It took less than a week and cost me $47 to have it shortened, waist taken in, and to have the dress modified (it was a puffy dress and she de-puffed it for me, lol). I took in a vintage leather jacket to have it taken in, as it was slightly too large for me. The woman was kind and helpful, and quickly got me squared away. I picked up the jacket a couple weeks later, mostly because she was working on prom dresses and was a bit swamped. The jacket now fits great, and you can't even tell it's been altered! read more

Ok, so after reading all the great reviews I was so excited about going to Agape Alterations. I bought a wedding dress for my 10 year vow renewal and I am so excited about this entire experience. I am tiny so I knew that I would have to spend $200-$300 dollars on my alterations due to the fact that the bottom of my dress has lace edging. I knew that the only way to hem the dress meant removing all the lace and then reapplying it once the dress was hemmed. She quoted me $400.00 and I'm not saying she isn't worth the money but I told her that I would have to think about it and let her know if I would be able to afford that. After a few hours I called the lady and let her know that I was going to take the lace off myself (I took 2 years of sewing so I know what I'm doing but I can't do the sizing alterations on myself) and then once the dress was hemmed I would reapply it myself. She laughed right in my face and made it seem like I was an idiot. To me she wasn't being understanding that I have a budget and that I would like to use my resources available to me. She did lower the quote but I would prefer to use someone who will appreciate my business. read more
