I've been getting my acrylic tips done at Agatas and they do not disappoint! Only one worker does tips but she's great! I always get what I ask for and the nails last 2 weeks and then go back for fill in. I advise to make an appointment since it's a small place and no need to wait. Best mani pedi that I've ever had and I've been to many many nail places. The technician was so thorough. I was very impressed for $21.

The ladies do a good job when it comes to nails but they have no idea how to honor appointments. I just waited 45 minutes for a pedicure for which I made an appointment a day before. I even arrived 10 minutes early and said that I had two appointments (for my mom and myself), all they said was ok! They already were working on other clients and I was sitting there for 45 minutes. I would have left, but I knew that my mom wanted a pedi so I didn't want to make a fuss about it. All they really had to do is to come up to me and tell me that it will take this long so I would have gotten coffee in the meantime. read more

No other salon has paid such attention to the health of my nails. Being that I do gel frequently, all the girls go out of their way to make sure my nails stay strong or advise me to switch to manicure sometimes to protect my nails! They are all so sweet and really work hard to give the perfect mani/pedi. Especially since I go there often and speak Spanish, they always welcome me with open arms and even talk to me about my day. Agata definitely looks like a hole in the wall but they consistently do a phenomenal job. The best $25 mani pedi in Astoria. However, because of this, the small salon is always insanely busy. I was on a tight time frame so called in advance to make an appointment for 5:45 on a Friday. The woman on the phone told me to come 5 minutes early to make sure I would have enough time. I came at 5:30, 15 minutes before my appointment, and picked out my polish quickly. I ended up waiting a full half an hour before a pedicure chair finally freed up. What's the point of taking reservations if you won't honor them? I wish they'd take the scheduled reservations into account before taking walk-ins. My nails ended up looking amazing as always; but just be forewarned you should be prepared to allot at least 2 hours for a regular mani pedi here. read more

I walked in after 8 and they offered me both mani and pedi even thought they close at 9. I didn't leave until 9:20 and I didn't feel rushed. Updated review* This being my third time here, I had pretty high expectations. Although my manicurist was so kind and friendly, took ample time on my nails... they lasted a mere week (and to be honest I don't even think it was a full week) and for a gel manicure that's just simply NOT OKAY. Being there are so many options in regards to nail salons in the area, I will not be coming back. Also I heard them on the phone more than once claiming they no longer do acrylic nails which leads me to believe they won't be in business for much longer. read more

Did a very nice job with my gel manicure and seemed very clean. They don't get too fancy with designs (I showed her a picture of a pinterest manicure) bc she said the gold line was a sticker they didn't have. I was a little disappointed but after she was done I could already tell it was going to last longer than my other gel manicure which had only lasted a week by potala on Steinway. It didn't go over my cuticles or look like a week's worth of growth either...perfect balance. read more

I loved everything about this place. I got an amazing pedicure and gel manicure by Monica. My cousin came along and got herself a gel manicure and regular pedicure as well. Everything was great until that gel manicure started chipping less than a week after I had them done :( My cousins starting chipping two days after. It's a hit or miss with this place. Been here 3 times. Price is reasonable but the last visit the lady cut too deep into my cuticle while getting a pedicure and left me bleeding. I can't wear shoes for a week... Had to clean my toe everyday so it won't get infected. Will not go back. Plus the wait there is ridiculous... I have been to a lot of nail salons in the city - and this was the most thorough pedicure I have experienced! My feet are so smooth and clean. As the other reviewers mentioned, they take their time. She did an amazing job on both the pedicure and manicure, really making sure she got all the stray cuticles and getting the dead skin off my feet. Very clean space, and kind ladies. The pedicure chairs are brand new and gave an awesome, firm, back massage. Seriously, an awesome experience. Great little spa - give them your business! I've known the owners sister for over 7 years. I used to go to her in Jackson Heights in a very crowded Chinese owned salon. I am very picky with the shape of my nails and the colors I use. When Diana moved to work with her sister, I couldn't be any happier. Very tiny nail salon. I went there on a Tuesday at around 10:30 am. Only one other person there. Gel Mani costs me $20 and pedicure cots me $14. Found them on Yelp based on reviews, I will definitely be back because their prices are great. Cons are it was super hot in there (went in october) because the space is so tiny. But the gel mani and pedi I got was great, the staff was friendly and took time on my nails. They didnt rush at all. Great prices! I had the worst nail experience of my life at this place. On my birthday last year ( a weekday), I decided some pampering was in order and I wanted a pedicure. I had never been to this spot, but it was a few blocks from my place and the reviews were positive. When I walked in, the one lady doing nails and the one lady doing a pedicure and their clients all turned to look at me. I said, "Hello" and no one said anything in return (no hello, no what service do you need today, nothing). There was no one seated at the front desk, so I figured maybe that person was in the restroom or on a break and seated myself on a bench to wait. I was there for 30 minutes, no one ever came to the front desk, no one ever asked what service I wanted, even after the two clients were done. I eventually got pissed off and left. This place might be closer to my apartment than other salons in the area, but I will never go back. read more

This place is nice! Ive never done my nails before so i was a little nervous in going. The staff was very nice and reassuring. They helped me with what i didnt know and how to take better care of my nails. I had gotten a mani/pedi and it was a lot better than what i was expecting. They were very efficient and knew what they were doing. They do a magnificent job and my nails look better than they used to. The place is a bit small and it can get busy but like i had said, the staff is very fast paced and can still make your nails look beautiful. The only reason i gave this 4 stars is because since the store is a bit small, its hard to move around and get to the tables and chairs. When you walk through the door, its a bit cramped. The nail polish are against the wall and you have to squeeze between the counter and the bench that they have to see the colors. They have a good variety of colors but i feel if they had a bit more space, to add a few more. Other than that, this place is awesome and i will defiantly come back! read more

In about 60 seconds, 2 women were entered and were sat before me. Apparently friends get preferential treatment. I like Agata Nails better than most in Astoria.
