I've been going to Utopia for a while and really appreciate how clean and calm the salon is. It's always quiet and relaxing... no one loudly talking on phones, which makes such a difference. They use liners in the pedicure tubs, have a huge selection of colors and the whole salon feels very professional and well cared for. They also take pride in properly sanitizing their tools and keeping everything extremely clean, which is very important to me! It's a family owned business which I love supporting. I visited here for a second time and it was in vain. The person put more than 3 coats on nail polish and the color still didn't stick as you can see in the picture. The woman tried to file my nails after the manicure was completed. I told her no because the color will chip. She told me no, that's not true. I hated the nail salons I tried out in maspeth and good friend of mine told me to try this salon out. They were so friendly, clean, professional and lovely. I felt like I was sitting on a queen's thrown as I got my pedicure! The manicure was great and the nail tech so friendly with me even though I messed up my nail twice lol. I went in to the salon on 10/26 and I'll definitely be making my go to spot! I believe the owner was by the register and she took time out to come talk to me, that is great customers service! This was my first visit to Utopia Nails. I'd left a message on their voicemail the morning of 7/2/25 requesting a call back to make an appointment for a dip powder manicure and pedicure with callus removal the afternoon of 7/3. I received no return phone call, but was glad to receive a text that afternoon confirming a 4pm appointment 7/3 as requested. I arrived on time and checked in at the desk. I waited around 15 minutes for my "tech" to begin working with me. It took her a full 20 minutes to drill the top layer of my previous powder and wrap my nails with remover and foil to soak. Paola was shaky and unsure of herself, so I tried to be patient as it was obvious she was learning. A pedicure with callus removal took her over an hour, and although I had brought my own flip flops, she had another tech translate that for some reason she could not apply the polish with them on, and asked me to wear the flimsy styrofoam ones they provide. I obliged despite not feeling comfortable to walk in them when moving to the manicure station. Due to my discomfort, I touched a toe getting up and it was another ten minutes to redo that one. It was not a big deal, but I did not like any of the dip colors offered, and opted for gel polish instead. I also thought this would make the process move faster. Paola then proceeded to drill my nails again to smooth them, yet she kept going too close to my cuticles and cutting them up. When I told the other tech, she told her to push back my cuticles. She then proceeded to try doing this with the sharp pointed edge of the wooden stick used as a tool (not the flat end). I then told the gentleman at the desk that she was hurting me, and after speaking in Spanish to the techs he said she needed to push my cuticles back to apply the polish. When I repeated that the way she was going about it was hurting me and that I'd never had this problem before, he said that part was done now. I would have asked for a different tech, but there were only two others and they were busy. In hindsight, I wish I'd have just left. I let her complete the gel application, and I ended up leaving my 4pm appointment of misery at 6:55pm! Since then, my cuticles have been hurting me and I have been applying bacitracin and bandaids nightly. By Saturday 7/5, two nails already had chipped gel, my right thumb is red and inflamed at the cuticle, and all the cuticles are looking torn. This was supposed to be relaxing, yet was a terrible experience, and now I have burning at my cuticles whenever I wash my hands. And to think, not knowing it would turn out this badly still days later, I gave Paola a decent tip, feeling bad for her because she's learning. I read somewhere that this salon will repair their work within a week, yet I refuse to return there for that service. Please STAY AWAY from this place, especially from Paola! I will be happy to return to my regular salon of several years. I tried this place based on reviews. I wanted my nails to be nice for the holiday weekend, and could not get an appointment at my usual salon on short notice. read more

I have been coming to Utopia Nails for at least 4 years. Patricia always does my dip powder manicure, and it is beautiful. She takes her time, and is clearly a perfectionist. When she is not available, Nari does my nails and she too does a fabulous job. I've tried other salons thru the years, and they just don't compare to Utopia Nails. I made a last minute nail appointment here online on a Friday !! I love the fact that you can make online appointments and choose your manicurist. So I came here slightly before my appointment time and was greeted by the nicest guy who promptly asked me my name, confirmed my appointment, introduced me to my manicurist and let her know what I was there for. They ask you to wash your hands before you start and ask you to show them any pictures of the design you may be interested in. The manicurist took her time with my nails and was very gentle and kind. The place is clean, well decorated and I felt safe during these COVID times. Everyone wore a mask and no one had any guest. There wasn't any loud talking, it was just super chill and spa like. I will definitely be back and recommend it to anyone. I will say my one down side is my gel manicure only lasted a week, I don't blame them because I did go to Mexico two days later and I'm pretty rough on my nails. read more

I came here for the first time yesterday after spending a lot of time researching a nail salon that not only will provide top-notch service but also was exceptionally clean. This salon definitely checks both boxes! I got a gel mani removal, regular pedi and regular mani all done by Johana G who was absolutely amazing, super professional, and friendly! She was truly a perfectionist about everything but especially about applying the polish. I've already been asked if I got a gel or acrylic mani done because the lines were so precise. The salon is probably the cleanest salon I've ever been to. Definitely worth the 20-minute commute from my home in Brooklyn. I found parking 2 blocks away in the (super quiet) neighborhood. When I arrived, about 5 mins earlier than my appt I was politely asked to wait outside until they were ready and they allowed me to use the restroom beforehand. Even the bathroom was impressively clean! There is plexiglass in every space where you may be near another person including in between the pedicure chairs, in between the nail drying stations and of course in front of the nail tech for both manis and pedis. All nail techs also had masks and face shields on. I was highly impressed to see everyone constantly cleaning their stations after every use. These details matter so much to me during the pandemic, and if they do to you too, I promise you won't be disappointed. One thing I will note that I agree with previous reviews, these ladies are not intricate nail artists. This is not a space I would go to expecting detailed design. I purposefully came with a simple 2 nail on each hand-design already prepared so that I can avoid testing out their limits. That being said, I saw today that they are now using sticker designs which is a decent workaround although obviously limited to the stickers that they have. Lastly, I cannot stress how much I appreciate their use of tech. It was super easy to schedule my appointments online, pick whichever tech I wanted, and easily see their availabilities for the day including how long each service I picked would take. Overall, I had probably the best regular mani and pedi experience ever and have already booked my follow up appointment where I'll be bringing my mom for a great spa experience! read more

I've been wanting to try Utopia ever since following them on Instagram. Can't believe it took me this long to try! First and foremost, the salon is impeccably clean. I understand they've always been clean, but now with extra COVID cleaning precautions, the place is literally sparkling. I also felt safe that it was not crowded or busy. My appointment was for a Jelly Spa Pedicure with Patricia and she did an awesome job! I highly recommend booking with Patricia. She was great! The jelly pedicure was just what I needed for a relaxing day and the sparkly dark orange color is perfect for fall. I LOVED the pedicure chair - a nice plush seat with a cushion for the back (I can't stand those reclining massage chairs that most salons have). Wonderful place with delightful service. I had been seeking a place to have my nails done for my birthday. My usual place in Long Island was too inconvenient on a weekday hence, I went to Yelp for recommendations and it led me to Utopia. Pros: - Decor is beautiful! From the chandelier, soft painted walls, and comfy pillows by the pedicure stations, you will feel primp and pampered. - Appointments can be requested via their online portal. Within the portal, specials are listed and a brief overview of each technician's specialty - unique and very helpful for any first time customer. - Great selection of OPI and even Essie gel colors. High end brands such as Deborah Lippman and Chanel also available for a small fee. - Highly sanitary including disposable liners for pedicure tubs - Service is kind and friendly. Not only do they call to remind you about your appointment but they greet you from entrance to exit. No issues with service. Cons: - Designs don't seem to be a big thing here. When I showed the receptionist a few designs I had in mind, many of them were either too intricate, too fancy, or they did not have the materials to do them. I ended up choosing a simple line design that I found on pinterest. The design came out OK. When I showed my tech what I wanted, she seemed a bit surprised that I had requested it, almost as if she didn't know that a design was apart of my service. For 2 simple line designs, I was charged $8 which I thought that was a bit pricey. I know each shop has different methods of pricing, but at any salon, what I received should have cost no more than $5-$6. Either way in the future, I will stick to just polish, no designs. Receptionist was also honest as to whether the tech I had could possibly do what I was asking, I appreciated that. Overall, I truly enjoyed myself here and commend the staff for their awesome service.
