Flight of Taco Week special tacos
    Jim R.

Taco Week lunch at Agave and Rye. As usual, their Taco Week offerings were awesome. I had the flight of 3 special tacos for $9.00. All three 'special' tacos were excellent, I really enjoyed them. My wife opted for a flight of one Honey Chicken and two Birria tacos also $9.00. Additionally a friend had their big Taco Week Taco that leaned toward Asian flavors. She loved it. Service was top notch. We always look forward to each of the Special weeks. Agave and Rye always has tasty offerings whether it's Taco, Burger or Pizza Week.

A good blend of Mexican fusion. Lots of apps to choose from. The won ton nachos were yummy enough I forgot to photograph them. I had a spicy mango marg the bartender was attentive and friendly. I normally am not into chains but everyone seemed enjoying themselves and happy.

So, I am guilty of only have gone here for taco week. We went here yesterday for our alphabet restaurant tour. A=Agave & Rye. The tacos I've had, have always been good. I had the crispy chicken burrito and it was sooo good! I need to put this place and location on regular rotation. Ambiance is always on point and it's always a vide here! Service was great! Our bartender, Rob, made sure our drinks were on point! My wife didn't like one she ordered initially. He made another and made sure she liked it! So attentive and such great service! Highly recommend this restaurant for anyone asking!

I can see why my friends go nuts over Agave & Rye so much! We ordered delivery from the New Albany A&R during a ladies' weekend in the area. And this meal did not disappoint. First, the tacos. I was a bit taken aback by the prices at $7-$14 per taco, but now I get it. These are definitely large and in charge! The fillings are super inventive and delicious. And their "love cushion" -- beans, guac or cheese in between hard and soft shells -- made me giggle and then made my mouth water. But even more than the tacos, I enjoyed the "munchies." The crispy brussels sprouts were my favorite, followed by the cauliflower bites and giant tater tots. I will be back for more of this inventive taco goodness soon!

I really enjoyed my experience here! I came during Louisville burger week, wanting to try as many different places as I could. I had previously been to the Agave & Rye location in Louisville and was unimpressed, so I was skeptical coming into this. I'm very glad I decided to come! Stopped for a quick lunch, I got the smash me baby one more time burger that was on special. It was very thoughtfully made. All of the elements worked harmoniously together, from the potato bun, to the delicious pork belly, and the crispy onions. All of this made for a really great bite. The staff was super sweet and efficient. The atmosphere is fun and lively, with a tasteful touch of darkness. Overall very much exceeded my expectations!

This was my oldest daughter's choice for a birthday lunch. Since my daughter and son in law live in Jeffersonville and the New Albany location has parking we chose wisely. I still believe that Agave & Rye has the best tacos and potent margaritas. Most of us got the trio taco combo(a good choice for a variety of great tacos) and a few others opted for a tasty margarita. Add some queso and chips you have a filling meal. Of course since we were celebrating a birthday my daughter shared a tiramisu with her husband while my other daughter and wife shared a huge piece of chocolate cake-with leftovers for us. Service was great and very attentive.

9/16/25 I Went to Agave and Rye for lunch with coworkers and had such a great time! Jerry gave us a quick tour since we were curious about the upstairs view, but we chose to stay on the main floor. The decor is stunning and so vibrant. Jerry was simply amazing to us, from the tour to the welcoming feel, he definitely makes this place more inviting. We tried a variety of tacos and loved every single one. I had the Snitch, Rooster, and Gangsta, each was unique and so flavorful I couldn't pick a favorite. They also surprised us with a sampler of guac, queso, and pimento cheese which was such a nice touch. The tacos are so delicious, each has a unique combination and especially if you're a foodie like me, you have to try all the various ones. Katie, our waitress, was fantastic and took great care of us. Between the incredible food, friendly service, and artistic atmosphere, I'd highly recommend Agave and Rye for any meal.

A very greasy platter of chicken quesadilla that was virtually un edible. We did not even finish this you couldn't.

So last night, my girlfriend and I visited this restaurant in New Albany. We ordered the chicken quesadilla 16.95and the three tacos 15.95. All the three tacos were very good. My girlfriend's chicken quesadilla was swimming in Grease!! literally it came with two quesadillas on the bottom and one laying on the top. The one on the top was OK when she got to the first one on the bottom of the stack. It was completely saturated with grease as was the other one basically rendering it unedible. When we got the manager to come over all she did was apologize, but her comment was simply this. "It's towards the end of the night and I guess our cook is getting sloppy". "He does this a lot of apparently "and this was her comment.!! at the very least they should've taken this either off the bill or made an adjustment not that we were asking for anything like that, but that would've been the proper thing to do and stating that this is something that your cook does on a nightly basis towards the end of the night is completely off the scale out of control. No way to treat a customer. You don't normalize bad service. You make it up to the customer so you make sure they come back but she could've cared less. We stood there and asked her why and she said well I'm sorry all I can do is apologize. That's the best I can do. Well, the best I can do is write this review for people to read and understand that the store in New Albany takes this attitude towards its customers. The best I can do is also to tell my friends not to visit this place. The best I can do is to do my civic duty and write a horrible review of our experience there so that other people can avoid what we went through last night at this restaurant.!!

This is one of my favorite restaurants in Louisville and was expecting the same here. Yesterday was disappointing. We were quickly seated and chips and queso came out very quick, as well as our waters. The wait took so long for our elote and our tacos. We were there an hour and forty five minutes. We had to ask for silverware are host stand to be given plastic ware due to them washing dishes. Our taco was cold like the meat was prepped but not heated up or left on counter in kitchen too long. So much our tacos were soggy on bottom. Food was a 2 service was a 1-2. They did not look that busy but it was obvious all of the customers waited too long and didn't receive great service. I will not be back to this location. I will only visit the Louisville location. I hate to give poor reviews but this accurately showcases the experience.

We celebrated my niece's birthday at Agave and Rye in New Albany. Four seniors, a thirty-something and two pre-schoolers were well cared for by an attentive staff. I had The Crown Jewel. Having Mac and cheese in a taco was odd, but tasty, but the star was the copious topping of lobster. Yummy! Others had The Gangsta taco, and The Bees Knees, which they reported as 'delicious' , chicken tenders, Mac and cheese and burgers. A couple of servings of Brussels sprouts were shared - best I've ever tasted! The kids' plates were overflowing! I couldn't have eaten as much - servings were generous. The total was $111 plus almost $8 tax and a 'merchant fee' of 3.33 -possibly for credit card fee- making our total $122. We left a $28 tip. While waiting for everyone to arrive, my companion and I had wine and beer in the brightly decorated bar.

By far the most amazing experience we've had since we've moved to the state from South Florida. Don't hesitate just order everything. AMAZING !!!!! The drinks are so fresh and also have a modern twist. We will definitely make time to come back. VERY SOON- thank you, Amy.!!!

Today is Cinco de Mayo and I was feeling up to a delicious authentic Mexican meal. This restaurant has a variety of various Mexican dishes and albeit is rather pricey for their platters, which range from $19-$29 and appetizers from $8-$22. Also surprisingly I didn't find any sort of dessert at all unless there is a separate menu for that but I was never told that by my server, more on that later. The environment is one you'd expect of any authentic Mexican restaurant, a very colorful decor with lots of Mexican decor spread throughout with some Mexican music playing in the background to set the ambiance of this establishment granted I was sitting in the background of the seating area and couldn't hear this music if I were sitting in the front. On this visit, being my first, I decided to try the Nachos Delicias (Queso, tomato, onions, cilantro, sour cream and choice of chicken, chorizo and steak) I requested no onions and steak. I also tried their Quesadilla El Jefe Jeff (Stuffed with cheese, steak, shrimp, chicken, chorizo, bell peppers, onions, tomatoes, cilantro and sour cream) I requested no onions. The nachos were really nothing too terribly special outside of just being put in a somewhat fancy bowl to make them look or appear better than they were. They didn't taste too bad outside of finding the steak to not really be all that flavorful or seasoned. I feel for the price which was $18.50, that it could've been more for what I paid for. The quesadilla was absolutely worth it and was quite filling. Definitely the star of this meal however I was disappointed to find onion in my meal when I specifically requested there to not be. Outside of that is was quite good and something I'd order again. My biggest issue was there was only one server working and of all days it was on Cinco de Mayo which you as a Mexican restaurant should expect to be busy in which they were. Our server never once stopped to ask if we needed anything, no offer of dessert (which I am still not sure they offer) or even to ask if I wanted another drink. I don't see myself going out of my way to come here albeit it wasn't awful but the price for things was too much in my opinion. I feel that I've had better food for a lower price at other authentic Mexican restaurants. So just keep this in mind when deciding to stop here.
