    Q. Beef Burrito (watery and bland)
    Seth B.

Ambience is nice and service was pretty good. Table-side guacamole was the highlight of the meal... that however was the only positives.. as burrito was bland and watery and the carnitas looked like stewed onions and chicken. I wanted it to taste better but we paid and left the food behind as we will this restaurant. I am sure there are better more authentic tasting Mexican options nearby.

it was great 10/10 service was great and fast food was even better! We got sat immediately and got drink right away! Prices were great for the portion! I had the Beria tacos which were 12.99 and great!

You Cannot take Any Drink to go - unless it isn't liquor - Wish I would have known this before considering every place basically every server has poured it into a glass for us -!but not here - The food was just to help the liquor go down - thanks

Situated on the east, or back side rear, of Pelican Place at Craft Farms shopping center in Gulf Shores is Agave Bar & Grill. They have quickly made a reputation for itself since its establishment in 2023. They replaced another Mexican restaurant, Margarita Loco, and I think it is undoubtedly a huge improvement. The name a bit confusing since there they've used Agave Mexican Restaurant and just plain Agave. Known for its authentic Tex-Mex cuisine, outstanding margaritas, and inviting atmosphere, this family-owned restaurant offers an nice dining experience. The atmosphere at Agave Bar & Grill is a delightful blend of charm and festivity. The tastefully decorated interior exudes warmth, with great murals, colorful accents and a lively vibe that sets the stage for a good Mexy meal. Their food offerings of Tex-Mex cuisine feature a range of tantalizing appetizers, including their Agave Queso and Fresh Gulf Shrimp Ceviche. The menu also has an array of expertly crafted tacos, enchiladas, and burritos, as well as specialty dishes like the Carne Asada and vegetarian Spinach and Mushroom Quesadillas. You can also get there very tasty guacamole made fresh table side which is delightful. I have been here several times and enjoyed the chips & salsa, tacos, queso, enchilada, burritos, quesadilla, Carne Asada, but the beans and rice are mediocre. Other dinere have had good things to say, as well, with a Yelp rating of 4.5 stars out of 5 out of a total number of 34 reviews, and on Google an average rating of 4.8 stars out of 5 out of a total 158. No visit here would be complete without sampling their renowned margaritas. Nicely crafted with premium tequilas and fresh ingredients, these refreshing libations are the perfect complement to any meal. They also offer a diverse selection of beers, wines, and non-alcoholic beverages, however as of this review they don't have NA beer. Agave also provides other amenities and services, including catering for special events and private parties. Bottom line: Agave Bar & Grill stands is an nice addition to the culinary scene in Gulf Shores, with its inviting atmosphere, tasty Tex-Mex cuisine. Recommended! Hours: * Monday through Thursday: 11AM - 9:30 lPM * Friday: 11AM - 10PM * Saturday: 10AM - 10PM * Sunday: 10:30AM - 9:30PM Visit their website at: https://agavegulfshores.com/ or follow them on their Facebook page at: https://www.facebook.com/AgaveGulfShores/

    Table guac

We have found a new Mexican place to enjoy a margarita and some decent food fare. A definite order is the tableside guac for sure. The service is 5 star for friendly staff and over the top attention. We have visited twice now and thoroughly enjoyed both of our meals. The second time they had a much better crowd meaning the word is getting out. We will certainly return and hope to get them to a 5 star in this genre. Recommend a visit.

Cool vibe and colorful decor but doenst make up for the what i would describe as Mediocre food at best. However, I won't complain about the weak Margaritas at 2 for 1 during happy hour. I simply get an extra shot to add into my drink to strengthen it up a bit. Service was good, but this is purely quick get in, get out Mexican food.

Second time eating here and the overall experience was nice. Food was good and fairly priced however it seemed that there was slight difference in quality between visits. Service was prompt and the staff was nice. The ambience felt modern and casual. New age Mexican music and vibrantly painted murals on the wall. There were signs of renovation still visible such as exposed wall seams and uneven paint lines but was very minor and didn't really take away from the overall experience. Overall a good experience but missing something that stops it from being truly great.

We travel to Gulf Shores several times a year to visit my in-laws, who have lived there for 5 years now. We have FINALLY found some good Mexican food! Poncho was our server and he was amazing. Very friendly, and when we asked if their guac was any good, imagine our surprise when he stated they made it fresh at the table. My in laws had margaritas which they said were delicious. My husband had a barria soup, which was fabulous, freshly made, and way more than he could finish on his own. We all enjoyed our meals, and the check at the end didn't break the bank. We will definitely be adding this spot to our list of places we go when we travel down to visit.

Love this place! My favorite Mexican in GS, not to be confused with Agave in Fairhope as they are not in same group. Delicious food, great lunch specials, chips and salsa are always fresh and good too!

Food & drinks were outstanding! Lovely decor, clean, they seemed a bit understaffed, so service was not top notch...but...we will definitely be back. Oh and the chips and homemade salsa were amazing!!

The chips are served nice and warm and have a light crunch to them, not overly heavy. Their salsa is just addictive and when you pair it with their queso, it's ridiculous. I ordered the chicken supreme dish I think is what it was called. Chicken breast flattened and nicely grilled, topped with mushrooms and onions and cheese. Serve with rice and beans, I couldn't finish at all, but I surely wanted to. The service was very friendly and attentive, mostly comfortable atmosphere. Loud patrons, a couple boot away, put a damp around things, but that's not really the fault of the restaurant, just inconsiderate, loud patrons. The only issue I have, is when we walked in the place just kind of smelled funky. They had a couple of candles lit, I think to mask the odor. And I really can't say what it was, but it was across between maybe garbage and trash smell. Aside from the unpleasant smell when you walk in, the food and service was on point. I would absolutely come back here for takeout.

Our waitress blamed the kitchen for every mishap. One mistake, ok two mistakes and more, not buying it. We tried ordering drinks but our waitress had no idea what kind of wine they sold so she had to go check. When she returned we ordered drinks and when the drinks showed up we ordered the small beef and cheese dip, they also brought chips and salsa that was very tasty. She ordered a fahita steak quesadilla, she said it was very salty and average at best. I had the enchilada supreme with no sour cream, I was very clear and even said it twice. Our meals showed up before our "starter" beef and cheese dip. Mine had sourcream on it so I asked them to fix it as ordered. Next the dip showed up and the cheese had a thick skin over top of the cheese, it too was average. My enchilada showed up and it appeared they scraped off the sour cream and re applied the lettuce, etc. The problem is by then, the enchiladas were not very hot and the fries were soggy, luke warm and not crispy. The manager did come over and asked about our meal, I replied it was just ok, that was as nice as I could be. He offered to make it good on our next visit, I told him not to do so, he said he could fix it, but our meal was over at this point. We will likely try other mexican restaurants in the area before we attempt to come back to give them another chance. On any day a restaurant can fail.

Unfortunately, the customer service completely ruined it. I saw my waiter maybe four times during the entire 45 minutes I was there: when he brought my water, took my order, brought my CORRECT order, and then finally walked by 10-15 minutes after I had finished eating. I actually had to ask another employee to find him because I was sitting with the wrong food for about 10 minutes. In the end, I had to flag him down just to get my check and a to-go box. The food was decent. The street corn was absolutely delicious, but my tacos barely had any toppings. I ordered water and never received a single refill the entire time I was there. It's disappointing because the ambiance and first impression gave me such high expectations. The restaurant is beautiful, but the service was so poor that I unfortunately won't be returning.
