This is very good and authentic Honduran/Mexican blend of food. We have been a couple of times and never disapointed. The owner at first may seem reserved/unfriendly but trust me he really is a awesome person and the food is his love. Every plate he watches over to insure its done correctly. One night my wife was feeling under the weather and I arrived when they were closing so he said come back tomorrow which I can respect that so I mentioned my wife was sick and wanted some of the soup which he replied aww I didn't realize. Please come in we will take care of her and get her better. The soup was awesome and it did help her feel so much better. When you go tell him the "Bald Headed Fat Man" sent you that rides a motorcyle and has the biker vest said this is the best place. Horrible service, highly disappointed in the food quality. When we original pulled it up, we pulled up Mexican restaurants near us, a and "Taqueria el Mariachi pulled up. When we arrived we walked straight in, but didn't pay attention to the name, came to find out that the pictures and the name do not match the restaurant!!!! What the restaurant is really called is (El mariachi Hondureño)! And the pics shown online do not match the food or the restaurant. I do not recommend! I'm doing this review to clean up some of my outstanding drafts but will update on my next visit. I postponed my thoughts because I wasn't sure if what we experienced was going to be the norm or if we caught a bad day. First of all, there's some glowing reviews from over a year ago but some more recent have been not so good. Unfortunately my impression was not in line with the authenticity that I was hoping for. The burritos and rellenos weren't anything above average however the tortas and street tacos were pretty good. The queso dip is not good, it's just watery microwave kinda bland cheese that doesn't even stick to the nachos, unfortunate. It is a small place in a strip with a half dozen tables and they do take out but is a cash only establishment which can be a problem if you're not prepared. Bottom line: I have heard that this may be different ownership than in the past but ai can't confirm that. I will try them again, but my only visit was not stellar but good street tacos. read more

Best kept secret in foley. If you are near the outlets don't pay over priced for tourist traps, hit up this authentic spot in foley. A small place with like 8 tables has street tacos, sopes, and all the standard Mexican fair. I got the California Burrito. It was 10.00 and as big as my arm! The steak had a great flavor. The kids loved the regular tacos and so did I as they were 2.00 each. Brook got the Asada street taco and the carnitas sope. She said they were amazing. We were the only people in the place. Food came out crazy fast. In an over priced town this place is not only affordable but very tasty. They bought out the chips and dip which was very good. Then brought out a trey of special sauces including hot salsa, green salsa, and pickled onions with habaneros. A family or 4 all eating for 33.00 with a couple of beers....UH YEAH!!!! read more

We stopped in for a quick Sunday lunch at what used to be Taqueria La Cabana (one of our favorites). After we learned the place had changed owners and names, we decided to give it a try anyway because my wife and sister-in-law were hankering for some menudo. The service was fast--the chips were super fresh, too. They didn't have horchata, so we just got water. I ordered three tacos on handmade corn tortillas, and they got menudo and posole. Their menudo doesn't have hominy in it (you have to ask for it), so they were a little disappointed by that, but my four-star review is all about the tacos. I got carnitas, al pastor, and asada (steak), and holy crap, they were all so good. They were also bigger than the usual a la carte taco. I usually can eat three easily, but I was full after two of these babies. I'll go back just for the tacos, for sure. I think the place overall has great potential. They were very helpful and accommodating when they added hominy to the menudo and served it with some grilled torta bread instead of tortillas. read more

Tried this little place tonight :) I lived in Cali for a while so I love street tacos and Mexican food in general, authentic Mexican food. Loved these tacos:). They're very big! Loved the rice and salsa as well however my favorite was actually my drink. Please try their mango agua fresca!!!!! Omg so good! My fiancé loved it as well and drank half of mine! We decided to try this restaurant on recommendation from a sales person from the outlet mall. On first appearance we were hesitant when we arrived at this little hole in the wall place at the end of a strip mall. So glad we didn't let our hesitation stop us from enjoying some of the best authentic Mexican food we have ever had! Super kind waitstaff, amazing salsa, quick service and piping hot authentic food! Not too many quality places a family of four can eat for less than $55.00. We are here on vacation but will more than likely hit this place again before we leave! read more
