When I first walked into Pepito's, I was honestly impressed. The atmosphere is beautiful, the decor is inviting, and I had really high hopes for the experience. Unfortunately, the customer service completely ruined it. I saw my waiter maybe four times during the entire 45 minutes I was there: when he brought my water, took my order, brought my CORRECT order, and then finally walked by 10-15 minutes after I had finished eating. I actually had to ask another employee to find him because I was sitting with the wrong food for about 10 minutes. In the end, I had to flag him down just to get my check and a to-go box. The food was decent. The street corn was absolutely delicious, but my tacos barely had any toppings. I ordered water and never received a single refill the entire time I was there. It's disappointing because the ambiance and first impression gave me such high expectations. They do have a lunch menu, which is good because prices on the regular menu were a little pricey. I took my family of 6 there and the atmosphere was amazing. The hostess was rude just because we requested to sit outside( we are on vacation and it was a beautiful night) so not really sure what her problem was. We were finally seated outside and we were the only ones so still wasn't sure what her issue was. Waitress was a very nice polite young lady and when she delivered our food she didn't bring my 6 year old grandson's. So we thought maybe her hands were full but she came back later to ask how everything was and I said oh I think you forgot my grandson and she proceeded to tell me that I never ordered anything for him like really I am getting old but definitely not forgetful. So she finally brought it and it was literally practically burnt chicken tenders and fries and she proceeded to tell me that she was sorry she told them to rush the order because I forgot to order his. We came here our last night in town. Food was great but service was really lacking. Our waitress was nice but we didn't see much of her. We had the cheese dip trio for an appetizer - would definitely order again. My friend had the bean and cheese quesadilla and loved it. You can only put so much make up on a pig.. it's still a pig. I wouldn't say my experience was horrible but compared to their old location and even to their Nicevill FL location its was bad. Im gonna start with the chips. The quality was sub par.. there was no crunch i almost felt they where stiff enough to scoop cheese dip and salsa (good btw) but as soon as you went to bite down on them they turned into this sanding no crunch kind of texture it was very unsettling. Chips need CRUNCH! Moving past apps just cause cheese dip isn't hard to mess up.. onto the entree i got the quesadilla dinner and it was the most cheese pack bland grilled chicken I've had almost as bad a Vallarta's in Perdido Key FL (1.5 hours west of here) it was just all around bland and not good. I paid $30 dollars for a tea cheese dip dinner quesadilla and felt like i was give half portions of rice and beans in a small bowl the guac salad was non existent.. rationing the sour cream if you haven't noticed. Again the plating was very good but $30 for 3 or for bites of rice and beans is kinda wild.. The service was alright my waitress was very attentive filled my tea up twice when it was low thats really about it - the place is beautiful inside it really looks fancy and the vibes are 5 star but Im there for good food not expensive light fixtures and fancy dividers on booth walls.. Another restaurant where I didn't know how it was going to look based on the outside, but was pleasantly surprised. Definitely a mix of coastal but modern vibes inside, and I loved it. I'm always hesitant trying Mexican food being from Texas, but I was excited. Was quickly seated and ordered just as fast, our server didn't seem to really understand what we were saying but that's no fault to him (: we ordered speciality drinks, I got a mojito and it was absolutely delicious! The food was delicious too, but did get mistaken. I ordered the beef house enchiladas with red sauce but received chicken. Not a huge deal and I didn't want to correct the man, so I ate it. It was still very good for not being my first choice. My husband ordered the chicken tacos and thought they were good. Chips and salsa was pretty good imo. I love their rice and beans! I ordered to go from here two weeks later and it was still good just had to be constructed, but I rather get my food made fresh and eat at the restaurant. Maybe a little pricier than typical Mexican food but that's also probably the area too. Still, will check it out again and looking forward to it. read more

08/07/24 I ordered the stew, very disappointing. The stew had very little vegetables (2 pieces of potato, 1 carrot, 2 zucchini, tiny piece of cabbage), the meat was very chewy and a LOT of broth. The only thing I've had an issue with is the front counter hostess I don't know who hurt those girls but they are straight up rude! Hope they learn to respect all customers that come through, they're the first people we see when we walk in and first impressions mean more than they know. They were slathered with sour cream, but other than they had literally no spice. The choriqueso was interesting, but i wouldn't order it again. I had the seafood enchiladas. The shrimp had that smell that says I'm not really as fresh I could be, and rather than covered in a cheese sauce, what was on them was mostly sour cream. They were not great. Thave never felt so disrespected by a restaurant employee which in this case is the "manager" Gabrielina, the most unprofessional, arrogant and disrespectful staff member. This is my first and last time going to this place. The manager made me feel like I was trying to steal food or get more food without paying. I ordered the Calamari appetizer and 80% of the plate was breaded jalapeños. Gabrielina came to our table (party of 10) to actively argue and acuse me of eating half of my plate when I told one of the staff members that there was a pretty small portion of Calamari in my plate when it was brought to the table (I did took a couple of pieces, but not what she said. The fact that she did not tried to de escalate the situation and also wrong profiled our party made me write this review. Gabrielina mocked my boss who was sitting next to me because she had never worked in the restaurant industry before. Gabrielina clapped her hands when I told her that I might never come back to the restaurant and said "I'm glad". I felt harassed and embarrassed in front of everyone.
