One of the standout touches is the little shop inside, filled with all kinds of great finds--soaps, mists, lotions, and even kitchen accessories. It's a fun bonus that makes the experience feel a bit more unique. We came in with a group of 16, and they were able to accommodate us in a separate space across from the main area, which worked out really well. If you're planning a visit with a large group, I'd definitely recommend calling ahead. Major shoutout to our server--she handled splitting the check six ways like a pro. Everything came out correctly and fairly close together, which is no small feat with a group our size. I ordered the mahi sandwich, and it was delicious. The bun was perfectly buttered, and the fish itself was flavorful and well-prepared. They also offer a salad bar if you're looking for something lighter. Prices are on the higher side, but that's pretty standard for seafood. Some dishes were served whole--bone-in and all--which caught a few people in our group off guard, but to me, that's usually a sign of freshness. I ordered the Parmesan crusted grouper over truffle mashed potatoes. After a few minutes, I discovered that the fish was completely uncooked. In fact, I picked it up and waved it like it was a steak. It pains me say this, but we had awful experience with our food order. I ordered the grilled shrimp plate and husband ordered the fired oyster plate. My grilled shrimp plate, was over cooked. My husband fried oyster plate, " he found a long black hair... wrapped around one of the fried oyster". Manager took the fried oyster plate off our bill. We decided to get a different appetizer as my husband wasn't that hungry and wanted the unlimited salad bar with an appetizer and so we picked the mushrooms. Well, they were hot on top but cold everywhere else. I had to spit mine out. I told the server and he said sorry. So I said well, I guess we will just take them home and warm them up then!!? First time here for the Thanksgiving buffet. They knocked my socks off!!! I saw people saying to go here on social media, so I tried it, and I'm SO glad I did. People were all over the place waiting and the food was located as such as half the patrons had to walk through the gaggle to get to their seat. It was just me so I chose the open seating at the bar. My Lions were playing so I was in my glory-good food and football!! Just like when I was with my family over the years-a Detroit tradition! The food was OUTSTANDING!!!! Everything was seasoned to perfection and the turkey was moist!!! The dressing was prob my fav along with the candied sweet potatoes. I would have preferred a more traditional baked Mac n cheese, but they did a good substitution. Gravy and homemade mashed potatoes were good too! I don't eat beef or pork, so I cannot speak to the greens, black eyed peas or prime rib. The salad bar was fully stocked so I had some salad too, to get some veggies in, with my carb feast I missed the traditional peach cobbler and banana pudding but the strawberry parfait and the chocolate whatever were amazing. I hate leaving bad reviews, but I feel like people should know about our experience. My family and I stopped in around 9:30 PM to eat, about 30 minutes before closing. The atmosphere and staff were actually great -- everyone was friendly and the place seemed clean. However, several of us ate from the salad bar, and shortly after we all ended up getting extremely sick. Every person who ate the salad bar had stomach issues later that night. We all ate different main courses, so the salad bar was the only thing we had in common. I understand that it was close to closing time, but food on a salad bar still needs to be fresh and safe to eat. Unfortunately, our experience was pretty miserable afterward. Again, the service and atmosphere were good, but getting sick after eating here makes it hard to recommend. I hope management checks the salad bar procedures, especially toward the end of the night, so this doesn't happen to anyone else. read more

Stopped in one night, since we just moved to this area/state. Nice on the inside, lots of families and groups. also, a bit weird having a store & merchandise for sale inside a restaurant. A shrimp po-boy and a crusted grouper were on the table in no time. We had a few beers. Price was average for a sit down establishment. Service was great, no complaints. I do need to go back and try the salad bar, it looked really good as we walked by it to our table. Not too many of those around anymore. What happened? Was up North for a few months and came back to a little surprise. The once bountiful salad bar has been replaced by a sorry version of itself. Only one side was open and what was offered was abysmal. Basically lettuce and condiments. The only salad was a scoop of tuna salad that must have been missed. Plus there was a wait. I know times are tough but I was really disappointed. I used to rave about to visitors how great it was. And another thing, $28.00 dollars for the Grouper "Reuben"? Very cozy lodge/ cafeteria layout. Clean, lots of decorations covering the walls. Shopping right inside the doors, clothing, jewelry, several other items. Waiters and waitresses were kind and good humored. Joked with us some! They really stopped to chat some since we came during a slow time. All of the food was amazing! We were so hungry we forgot to get pictures of all the appetizers! The Cha Cha crab dip and shrimp nachos are our favorites! Cajun fried squash was a special for the day and we tried that. Very good! Caesar salad was good, dressing was just slightly strong. Salad bar had a great selection with three different pasta salads, three different types of lettuce and eight different dressings. Crab legs were fresh and tasty, coconut shrimp was good. Kids fried fish was a big winner! I got the Pontchartain fresh catch which was so flavorful! Food was good, service was friendly, it felt like a low budget steak and ale without the separate rooms and dark wood decor. They had a decent salad bar and the food was good. Weirdly enough, I didn't take pics #fail. I created a combo of fish and fried oysters. Fish was great but oysters were just ok. The nostalgia of a salad bar visit was pretty cool. Dinners come with one visit and they provide a relatively small bowl by today's standards. Definitely not the plate steak and ale provided. Our server - can't remember his name - was excellent. Entering the building, I felt like I was stepping in to a Cracker Barrel - the area is filled with similar merchandise for you to buy while you wait for your table. The room we were seated in seemed to be an auxiliary room. There was an ugly beige, pleated, vinyl-like room divider at the entrance and also along the back wall. The service was good - the waiter was prompt and attentive. The food was OK but not much was special. The salad bar, the stuffed shrimp and the blackened Mahi Mahi were average. The only unique thing were the brussel sprouts, which are one of the sides you can order, were excellent. Perhaps the most noteworthy thing was the "sugar scrub" that was by the sink in the bathroom. It made you hands feel wonderful after washing them. One lady commented that she absolutely loved visiting the restroom to wash her hands when came for a meal. read more

I remember the days when Wolf Bay Lodge was on a river. The original place burned down years ago from what I heard but this new place is huge, really nice with shops, tourist stuff to buy, a huge salad bar and great service. The staff are attentive and always with a smile. Food was amazing and the selection huge, portions reasonable and price won't break the bank. Got a lot of good reviews on Yelp so wanted to give it a try. Prices are a little on the high side but they do have an extensive menu. Had the fried shrimp plate with a baked potato. Shrimp was on the smaller side and potato comes with nothing but butter. Lunch does come with one trip to the salad bar. Bowl of seafood gumbo was good and side of peel and eat shrimp was the best thing we ordered. Large gulf shrimp that was juicy and flavorful. The shrimp taco's were soggy and the chips and salsa that dem with it were not edible. The chips were full of grease fresh from th fryer and we're not crispy. Overall just ok. read more

Stopped in for dinner tonight and had the 6oz filet special! it included mashed potatoes and green beans, we sub out the mashed potatoes and added an all you can eat salad bar ($10). Service was great and when our meals arrived they added a gravy to the top of the steaks which wasn't an issue for myself but my wife has a gluten allergy and they took it back and gave her an new steak and green beans without hesitation! Now this was a huge deal as we have gotten used to getting push back on having to eat with a gluten allergy, but not here our sever said "when you come in we want you to leave having a great meal and experience" The ambiance is very casual and family friendly. For those not familiar with this area and if you haven't learned yet. There are 2 Wolf Bay Restaurants one in orange beach and the other in Foley. Never confuse the 2 because there is no comparison between the two. The location in Foley is well worth the drive. It is a little pricey but when you see the portion size you'll know why. I have eaten at most of the seafood restaurants down here and always compare them to Wolf Bay Foley which is the best seafood down here. My family has eating at Wolf Bay Foley since it was Wolf Bay on Wolf Bay for about 40 years. So Food , Service , and Ambiance they're #1. Of course this is just my opinion read more
