My husband and I had a quick bite here and split a chicken burrito because we weren't that hungry. We waited 20 minutes for a semi cold burrito that didn't taste fresh at all. The food was either reused or sat out, or was old--I've never experienced anything like this before. The rice was already black from the beans inside the burrito. Cold food, beans and rice mushy, and the peculiar looks from our waiter were all red flags to me not to eat it. Pretty sure at least two of the workers knew this as they kept looking over at us in a peculiar way after the food was brought out. I told my husband not to tip as this seemed intentional (the chips and salsa were fresh tho) but he always tips the chef as he says. Will not return. Please have better oversight into who you are hiring or you'll lose business. read more

I remembered loving this place but I fear it has fallen off a bit. I went with a friend on a Saturday at 6:30pm and it was practically empty, bad sign. There were only about 3 servers and they all seemed overwhelmed. We ordered queso and chips to start. $11, pretty steep, but this is not a free chip place. I asked if the queso was gluten free and the waiter panicked. He said "I don't think so" then after 10 seconds "actually no it doesn't." I am not sure I believe him. They brought it out and it was a small bowl of pre-made dip. I would put money that this was from the tostitos queso jar. It tasted like microwaved grocery store cheese. It was pretty clear the chips were out of a bag from the grocery store too and not made in house. I ordered a seafood enchilada with creamed corn. I LOVED the creamy corn in the past, but this was not good. Microwaved frozen corn with a scoop of sour cream on top and about two shakes of paprika. Gross. The seafood enchilada was fine. Seafood was way overcooked but I liked the sauce. It randomly had 6 pomegranite seeds on it which did not pair well with the sauce and were so random. Our waiter seemed really stressed. They seemed understaffed despite having not very many tables. The music was quiet and it was super empty so we rushed to leave because the vibes were just so awkward. We ate here because we had an event at climate pledge. They were incredibly quick despite being so packed. It probably helps they have an event menu for nights like this. The staff was quick, the food was warm, all around a solid food average experience. I have nothing extremely of note to say either good or bad. So we weren't planning on eating here, it just happened to be in a convenient location after a trek from Kerry park down to the park next to the needle. We were all running out of steam and decided to go ahead and order food to go. We couldn't do the happy hour because it was dine in only so we settled for 2 taco plate, ceviche, and another couple of tacos in a combo. Agave is one of the staples in me and my boyfriend's rotation. The vibes and servers are always super nice, and most of the food is great. Our favorite item here is the queso dip with skirt steak added. The queso is always hot and melty, the chips fresh and crunch, the steak super tender flavorful. The birria tacos are another highlight, really juicy and tasty. The one disappointment I've had here is the shrimp ceviche. I was expecting the texture of lime and lemon "cooked" raw ceviche but instead it was definitely actually cooked. Definitely would prefer it be made the traditional way read more

We stopped by here instead of getting food at the Chihuly glass garden museum. It's just outside the space needle area and the climate pledge arena. Their menu was pretty large with great drink options. They had an outside patio area, a bar and also booths. Their drinks were delicious and the hibiscus mezcal was beautiful. Food was delicious - I loved the green sauce with the calamari. The birria tacos were grilled just the right way and the dipping sauce with had jalapeños which was a nice touch. WOW - how can a restaurant get everything so terribly wrong the second time I have been there the same week, this time on a Monday!?!? There were only four parties in the restaurant. One table of four, two tables of two and our party of three. It took FOREVER to get waited on after we were seated - probably 20 minutes. Then we had to move to a different table because of a loud and obnoxious table of four (other side of the room) who were making so much noise yelling and shouting that we couldn't even carry on a conversation. We ordered drinks and the wrong alcoholic beverage was delivered to one person in our party and the other alcoholic beverage wasn't made correctly for another person in our party. We had to leave our table to literally hunt down the waiter (another 20 minutes) to even take our dinner order. When the food finally arrived, one of the three dinner orders was totally wrong and not what was even ordered!! We were only a party of three on a special occasion with family from out of town. This place will not survive with this kind of nonsense. The people working there provided terrible (ZERO) service. What a disaster! I won't be going back. A Mexican restaurant nestled into the heart of Queen Anne -- they're a stone's throw from Climate Pledge Area and SIFF Theaters, among other things. We stopped by for dinner before heading to the movies. The ambiance inside is nice, and we were seated immediately. The restaurant was decently busy for an early Saturday dinner, and the food did take a while as a result. The margs here are really good but I wasn't that impressed with the food IMHO -- there aren't many vegetarian options, and I felt like the Agave Burrito with Mushrooms and Spinach was mostly rice. We enjoyed our drinks and meal here before an event at the Climate Pledge Arena. Great food, nice ambiance, and good service. The guacamole was especially good. Predictably, they got very busy--the team worked well together and got people seated and served. This restaurant seems well managed and maintained. It was a pleasure to take in the buzz of a packed restaurant without the usual frantic energy that can come with a packed house. The servers were focused, friendly, and in their game. I seriously don't understand how people can be so entitled to leave a 3 star review while acknowledging that the food is amazing and any service issues are due to the place being packed during an event. There are very few options in the area so clearly there is high demand and a need for additional restaurants, sounds like a good problem to have! That being said, this is at the top of my list of favorite restaurants in Seattle, and having moved here after living 40+ years in Arizona and New Mexico, I can confidently say, the food is some of the best Mexican food I have had. It was a little unfortunate that the first time I go that I wasn't able to try the things on the full menu but our waitress was super sweet and gave us a little surprise towards the end of dinner. Went to Agave the night of the Lizzo concert and it was packed. We got a table in the back kind of adjacent to the restrooms but there was little room for the waitress or individuals to pass behind my chair as the table behind us was super close. It was loud but eventually died down a little as everyone packed up to go to the concert. The table ordered chips, guac and salsa to start which the chips needed heaps of salt for taste. Eventually the food came out: Agave Burrito with Carnitas, Chicken Tinga Tacos, and Al Pastor Pork Tacos Though there wasn't supposed to be dessert, our waitress brought us out the fried ice cream and the Molten lava cake! Be warned that it's teeming with patrons when there's an event at Climate Pledge - we waited about an hour before being seated. Everyone in your group must be present and there's a strict time limit on dining so patrons can be shuttled in and out efficiently. The portions are MASSIVE - I'd highly recommend splitting an entrée if possible. I ordered the nachos with carne asada and the plate was bigger than my head. Service was great. They were very busy on a Friday night and our server was attentive and did the best they could considering they were one of two for the whole restaurant including the outside. He got more steps than a marathon runner I swear. The food wasn't impressive. We started with chips and queso. Our chips were stale and our queso was tasteless. We actually had to mix the salsa in the queso to make it edible. Next we had the blanco enchiladas. The chicken was watery and bland. My wife ate the tortilla covered in sauce because those were good. But we both avoided the chicken. Our server grabbed our half eaten food and left the check. We stop by for cocktails it was almost 9 pm.The atmosphere was very nice. Service was good. But somehow I didnt like the drinks there. They dont do strawberry blended margaritas which is weird because you can find that at any mexican restaurant and she recommended me mango margarita which is on the rocks. I said its ok and ordered that one. It tasted awful such a strong weird taste of tequila that I couldn't drink it. She offered me to re-do my drink and it came exactly same. I guess I just didn't like tequila that they used. So I ended up with a water. Guac was very yummy tho. I dont think I will be back but she was extra nice not charge me for both drinks because I just sipped them but couldn't drink it. Stopped by here before the Kraken game. We have been here a few different and they all are when we are attending something at Climate Pledge arena. They have an "event menu" which is all we have ever ate off of. I am curious what the regular menu does look like. Their food is always great if you're in the mood for Mexican. We have ordered the queso dip every-time which always hits the spot. We haven't had any bad food here except one time I veered off and ordered the pomegranate and seafood chile relleno. It was not for me, but I could see how it would be up someone else's alley. We've ordered basically every taco on the menu and they're all great. The venue is on a busy street corner and is cramped during event night. I myself enjoy the ambiance, but it can get a little claustrophobic at times. This time in particular we sat at the bar. Normally we wait to be seated. Before this trip we have had the same server. Does great, but at times gets overwhelmed. I do not remember his name. On this particular trip sitting at the bar was not the best choice. Halfway between our meal the bartender asked us to move down so there were 3 barstools together. Made somewhat of sense but there were no people in sight that were waiting to sit at the bar. Had it been before we ordered food and drinks I could understand. But part way through our meal we had to pick up our plates and drinks and move down pretty much for nothing. The bartender was or must not have been having a great day as he was non existent. Second issue that we had were that the drinks had zero consistency. I ordered the cilantro and jalapeño margarita and my wife ordered a skinny Cadillac. Both were delicious, but the second round came up, we both reprised our drinks. This time around both of our drinks looked the exact same except mine had one slice of jalapeño and hers had a lime. She had asked for additional fruit(orange) when she ordered it. They both were cloudy and tasted like simple syrup. We ended up leaving half both of them after we paid. If we do choose to come back we will choose to be seated as the staff outside of the bar seemed to be much more accommodating and friendly. read more

My group selected this restaurant to eat at before the hockey game. We found them online and liked that they were located so close to the arena. We liked their menu and called to make a reservation, we were told they don't take them on event nights, which we understood so we made sure to get there early. When we arrived however we were told there was a 1 hour time limit on the table and the menu was an event specific menu. It was significantly smaller than their standard menu, and no alternatives or substitutions were allowed. There is also an 18% gratuity charged to every check. Nowhere on their website were these things stated. It was all very misleading. read more
