I went to Pecado Bueno for the first time this week with some friends for trivia night. Pecado Bueno hosts trivia every Thursday night and karaoke every Wednesday night. TIP: Pecado Bueno shares a parking lot with Starbucks, but there is also street parking too, making parking fairly convenient. Pecado Bueno serves tacos, burritos, burrito bowls, enchiladas, soups, stews, not to mention all day breakfast if you're craving a breakfast burrito or huevos rancheros at night. They also offer ceviche and salsa with unlimited chips in addition to a variety of margaritas, lemonades, horchata, and beer. I ordered a three taco plate for $16.95 (plus tax and tip) and got the BIRRIA TACO (+$0.25), SHRIMP TACO, and BUTTERNUT SQUASH TACO. You get a choice of corn or flour tortilla and I chose corn. The BIRRIA TACO had the most flavor and I loved the consumé sauce they serve it with- a warm beef broth with chopped onion. The SHRIMP TACO was just okay and needed the mango salsa from the salsa bar to give it some oomph. Lastly, the BUTTERNUT SQUASH TACO was nice and hearty and had great texture. I'm not sure if I liked it with the pico de gallo on top, but that's how it was served. All three tacos were quite messy to eat, but thankfully they had napkins at the table. In all honesty though, I probably could've used a fork to eat all of the taco filling spillage. The restaurant has maybe a dozen tables/booths or so plus a bar in the back. They reserve 3/4 of the seats for trivia on Thursday nights. It's not super roomy and so I wouldn't recommend coming with a group larger than 6-8 people. Service was excellent and the cashiers and waiters are friendly. I received my food within 10 minutes after ordering, if not less. This is some of the grossest Hispanic food I've ever had in my life. Poor quality food and ingredients. way too over priced. The food portions are some of the smallest portions I've seen and overall the staff is really rude, I ordered the 7 layer dip with carnitas, I received a bowl of sour cream with no carnitas at all. A chill, casual spot for Mexican eats in Eastlake! They had the classics like burritos and some more unique options like tortas. I literally LOVED the food and was so happy that they had several vegetarian options (that weren't just limited to beans) including butternut squash and jackfruit. The staff is so friendly and it's super easy to do takeout. I got the classic torta and it was SO FIRE. The squash was so unique and the fried egg was super tasty too. PB is always fast and dependable for take out or eat in. Staff are always friendly. Their tortilla chips are solid, and I will judge you by a tortilla chip. Salsa bar gets a two thumbs up. For other items, I stick to a few tried and true. The salads, taquitos and street tacos. I am not a drinker, but lots of people seem to enjoy their bar offerings. We had our work event here this year. Buffet style set up and open bar. There was fire pits and tables set up outside. The customer service was great. The parking lot is really small and might not be able to find a spot. There is street parking but watch the signs. If I lived closer I would come back on the regular. read more

This is a fun place. Pecado Bueno has an unbeatable happy hour, an amazing patio out for outdoor dining (as well as small patio out front), and down-to-Earth service. They also try to liven things up with live music, trivia, and karaoke on various nights. It's not my favorite place for Mexican food, but the HH prices, cheap double Margs and outdoor spaces full of fireplaces bring me back. Oh and in the winter there are TV's inside for sports. We went for weekend lunch, and I was pleasantly surprised. The indoor seating was a little bit old and run down, but I liked the vibe. Half of it was a repurposed garage. I ordered the Taco Platter with cod, and the tacos themselves beat my expectations. I personally wasn't a fan of the rice and beans, pretty sure they were pre-made, beause the rice was pretty dry and hard, and the beans seemed straight from a can. Horrendous experience at this place. Extremely overpriced food and petty staff. I called in an order for 6 tacos to go. Total price came out to 41 bucks which is absurd in itself. I handed 43 bucks to the person behind the counter and told them to keep the change (it wasn't much but keep in mind I did not sit down and no one waited my table or provided any service to me other than the cooks in the kitchen). The cashier proceeded to mock me by holding out the change and saying "I think you really need this" about 4 times before slamming the change in the tip jar and shutting the register. I was stunned that instead of communicating like an adult this person acted like a complete asshole and a 12 year old. I will not be dining at this poorly run establishment ever again. Best taquitos ever. They don't skimp on the guacamole and sour cream and then they have a salsa bar. The habanero salsa is great, I wish it had a little bit more habanero flavor and heat. They don't smother the taquitos with all the guacamole and sour cream so they're never soggy. I'm going to try the fajitas next time. read more

I only opt for 3 out of 5 stars because I didn't deal with them directly so this is solely based upon food opinion. Squash burrito, chips, salsa(?) and hot sauce(?) in a catering box. Seems like your standard size burrito (I compare it to about the size of one from Chipotle). I only managed a single fresh bite and it was relatively tasty. The sweet potato does meld well with the rice and beans...however you can't judge a burrito by one bite when the initial bite is really all mostly tortilla. Overall I'm not a fan of black beans and am picky on my salsa so if I were to try this on my own dime, I'd have a lot of things removed from it. Also, this burrito is not good leftover (after heating it up) the flavors just weren't right to me. Picking at the insides of it I noticed you do get a decent amount of stuff included so it would definitely be a hearty burrito. I'd say if you're into all the flavors they have in a burrito you're probably getting a good price for what you want/get. read more

The restaurant itself was counter style so you go up to the counter to order which was pretty quick and convenient. I asked the very nice cashier if he didn't mind if I use the restroom . we decided to grab some food because they did have a vegan option and that was good in my book because my girlfriend is vegan!! So cutting to the chase when I was in the restroom he decided to ask my homegirl my story behind my eye patch. He asked if I had some kind of procedure or would not and that's when she informed him that I was hurt in my first peaceful protest. right then and there he must have felt some kind of way because he told my friend that he was going to surprise and by my lunch for me. I come out the bathroom and I order our two things. He says a total of 13 something. I looked at him and I said that's not correct I purchased two things. He said I know I want to pick up your lunch for you. I asked about you and you went in the bathroom and your friend told me. I was so shocked surprised and grateful. The moral of the story is.. I put pickled red onions on top of them from the salsa bar, which was a great way to cut the richness from the taquitos. Also the green salsa from the salsa bar was absolutely amazing. I really enjoyed the black beans, however the rice was lacking in my opinion and the opinion of the group. I got a delicious strawberry lemonade which I highly recommend for a non-alcoholic drink. Finding good Mexican food is always top of my list. I've been to Pecado Bueno about 5 or 6 times and its pretty good! If you are gluten-free they have a couple options. I would beware of cross contamination though and confirm with them that they are able to clean the area beforehand. The taco salad without a taco shell is my favorite. Unfortunately, the food is not very consistent in preparation and quality, but if you are willing to pick it up in order to check on it, it's worth it!
